This is one of the top ramen shops in Kurume. I visited after a long time and it tastes even better now. I ordered the ramen with chili peppers. At first, I tried it as it is. The soup has a rich pork bone flavor without any gamey taste. The noodles are medium-thin and slightly soft, perfect for soaking up the soup! The chili peppers are not overpowering and add a nice level of spiciness without any extra strong flavors. I also ordered fried rice, which was delicious too! This place is amazing.

It was like the Kurume Ramen. It's a hot ramen with a thick layer of fat on top. The soup is rich and mixes well with the noodles. However, some people may find it too strong. I couldn't finish the soup completely. The sliced chashu was light and thin, maybe because the soup was strong. The fried rice was also light. I think the set menu is a much better deal than ordering items separately.

Located within a 10-minute walk from JR Minami-Kurume Station, "Kurume Ramen Maruku Main Store" offers a simple menu of ramen, gyoza, and fried rice, indicating their absolute confidence in their ramen. I ordered the basic ramen for 650 yen this time. The soup is rich with the condensed umami of pork bones, and it is incredibly delicious. The combination of the soup and thin noodles is excellent, and for only 650 yen, you get three slices of chashu. This ramen shop is fantastic and definitely worth a repeat visit.

Around 4:30 PM on a Sunday in Kurume City. I visited Maruku Ramen, the main store, after playing soccer in the cold weather due to the snowfall. It was my first time at this ramen shop. I sat at a table in the raised seating area near the entrance, where you have to take off your shoes, because I was with my children. There are also counter seats and regular tables available. I ordered the ramen with a raw egg (yolk only) for 600 yen, and added the B set (ramen and fried rice) for an additional 50 yen, totaling 950 yen. The ramen had a typical Kurume style, with a creamy and flavorful broth and plenty of green onions. It was easy to eat, and had a consistent and enjoyable taste. The fried rice was a bit heavy on the salt and pepper. The service was polite, and the kids were given candy on our way out. Thank you for the meal!

After finishing work and not being able to go to a late lunch break restaurant, I went to "Kurume Ramen Maruku" which is open all day, and had a large serving of ramen and fried rice. The moderately rich tonkotsu ramen paired well with the flavorful fried rice. #KurumeRamenMaruku #LargeRamen #FriedRice #KurumeRamen #KurumeFriedRice #KurumeLunch #KurumeGourmet #Kurume City Nonaka-cho #Want to connect with ramen lovers #Everyone has their own ramen preferences

The atmosphere inside the shop was like a traditional ramen restaurant, which was very nice. I ordered the negi ramen. There were more negi than I expected, but they added a good flavor to the rich tonkotsu broth, making it surprisingly light and easy to eat. It was very delicious.

When I come to a ramen shop, I always feel like having both gyoza and fried rice (laughs). However, this shop doesn't offer a full set menu with both options, so you have to choose between "ramen + gyoza" or "ramen + fried rice." It's worth noting that the latter option is more cost-effective, so be careful when ordering (^_^;)

I ordered the B set with ramen and small fried rice for 950 yen. The ramen had thin slices of chashu and simple ingredients like green onions. The soup was not too rich or too light, but somewhere in between. The fried rice was different from the usual Kurume-style, with a lightly seasoned and moist texture. The flavors were not very distinctive, but it was delicious without any negative points. I visited another day and ordered the same B set for 950 yen. The restaurant was full from opening at 11 am. The taste was consistent and satisfying.

I ordered the B set with ramen and fried rice for 950 yen. The ramen looked rich but surprisingly was quite light. The soup had a nice depth of flavor. The fried rice was very delicious! The seasoning was perfect with just the right amount of salt and pepper. However, the table seats with wooden floors where you have to take off your shoes were right at the entrance, so it felt uncomfortable when people were waiting in line. It was a bit unpleasant to have someone standing right next to you, and I felt like dust might get in. I recommend sitting at the counter seats or the tables in the back.

B set (ramen + fried rice) @900. I always missed the timing to enter this restaurant as the parking lot was always full whenever I thought of going. This time, I tried to go to another miso ramen shop, but the parking lot in the back was full so I passed. I had forgotten about this place but luckily a car left and I was able to enter. First, the ramen. My initial impression after the first bite was "hmm." However, as I continued eating, it was surprisingly delicious. Unfortunately, it didn't quite reach the level of "wow, delicious." This is just a matter of personal preference. The fried rice was tasty but more dry than fluffy. I prefer moist rice, so "hmm" again, but this is just my preference so I don't mean to say it's bad. The restaurant was run by three rough-looking guys, but their average customer service was decent and the difference between their appearance and service was appealing.

"B Set (Ramen and Yakimeshi)" I went there quite a while ago for the first time in a long time. I feel like I'm searching for Mount Liangshan somewhere, but Marukyu Ramen is also good. It's light at first, but just right when you finish drinking it. The yakimeshi is the same. This exquisite feeling is loved by the locals. Kurume Ramen, nostalgic yet evolving.

The ramen with egg at this restaurant turned out to have a whole egg instead of just the yolk, which I wasn't aware of due to lack of research before ordering. However, I had no problem finishing the noodles without touching the egg at all. The soup was so delicious that I decided not to break the egg yolk, as it would have interfered with the taste. I only broke the egg yolk into the soup after finishing the noodles to enjoy the change in flavor. Adding raw egg is a feature of Saga ramen and not something you would find in traditional Kurume ramen shops. The subtly garlic-flavored soup at this place seems like an evolved version of the old Kurume ramen. It stays true to the roots of Kurume ramen while incorporating some slight modifications. Unfortunately, some photos, including the noodle lift shot, were not saved in the folder due to a second incident. This is the second time this has happened since switching to the iPhone 12 Pro. Overall, dining at this restaurant was satisfying and enjoyable. Thank you, Daikyu Ramen, for a delicious meal. The fact that the owner of Daikyu Ramen is a former employee of Kurume's Daitatsu Ramen is worth noting.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Kurume. It follows the lineage of Daitatsu and Daikyu. I ordered the raw egg ramen, which is in the style of Daitatsu. The soup is wild but carefully made, so there is no gamey taste. While there was no seaweed, which is a traditional Kurume ramen topping, the flavor is right in the heart of Kurume ramen. The noodles are medium-thin, and the thinly sliced pork belly doesn't try to stand out too much. I broke the raw egg into the ramen after eating about a third and slurped it all up. I should have ordered a large serving. I definitely want to get takeout next time!

At the same location as the current restaurant "Kurume Ramen Maruku," there used to be another ramen shop called "Ryozanpaku." While enjoying the ramen this time, I couldn't help but feel like I had traveled back in time. Although the quality of the ramen at "Kurume Ramen Maruku" is superior, I couldn't help but notice some similarities between the two shops. It seems that both shops belong to the same category, as other reviewers have pointed out. The location of this shop is along the 755 Anbu Honkokubun Line, next to the famous "Nankin Senryo Honke" known for originating tonkotsu ramen. The parking lot next to the shop can accommodate 5-6 cars, but it's challenging to maneuver due to the narrow space. Inside the shop, there are 7 counter seats, two 6-seater table seats, and one table seat. When looking at the menu, I noticed that the default ramen and the "Negi Ramen 550 yen" were priced the same, which was a bit puzzling. Upon closer inspection, it seemed that the Negi Ramen did not come with chashu, which was a bit disappointing. I decided to order the "Ramen 550 yen + Negi 100 yen = 650 yen" with firm noodles. The bowl was filled with an abundance of negi, making it difficult to avoid while slurping the soup. The broth was salty but light, reminiscent of Nagahama ramen, with a straightforward and market-like flavor. The noodles, although slightly thinner, were similar to Hakata ramen noodles, but not as thin as Nagahama-style noodles. Overall, the ramen had a good balance of flavors, but it lacked a bit of sharpness that could elevate it to the next level. It seemed like the shop was holding back a bit, which may be why it hasn't received higher ratings. However, I believe that with some adjustments, they could improve and stand out more in the competitive ramen scene. My personal rating on Tabelog is 3.5 out of 5.

I revisited the restaurant on Saturday around 12 o'clock and was able to find a seat at the counter. I ordered the Ramen A set (ramen, small rice, 5 gyoza) for ¥850. The ramen alone costs ¥550, so the additional ¥300 for the set is quite reasonable. Shortly after, the small rice and pickled radish arrived, followed by the ramen and gyoza. The soup was delicious, with a rich pork bone flavor. The thin slices of pork were tender, and the flavor of the pork bone soup lingered. The noodles were slightly thick and had a good chewy texture, typical of Kurume ramen. The small, bite-sized gyoza had a strong leek flavor. Even though I considered getting an extra serving of noodles, I was already satisfied. As I was eating, a line started to form, indicating its popularity. I will definitely come back again.

"Maruku Ramen," a ramen shop that opened after Liang Shanpo! I had been curious about it for a while, and today I finally went for it! The noodles are Kyushu-style ramen, not too thick or thin, and the soup is a nostalgic-tasting tonkotsu broth! When the noodles and soup come together, it's incredibly delicious.

My senpai drove me here ε=ヽ(*・ω・)ノ We couldn't leave Kurume without drinking and eating ramen, it would be disrespectful to Kurume haha. The ramen that was quickly brought to us was surprisingly high quality, I was lightly surprised (≧∀≦)ノ. If you grow up eating Kurume ramen, you can only love Kurume ramen, right? It's been a while since I had authentic Kurume-style ramen, and I was satisfied! Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m

Introducing "Kurume Ramen Marukyu" located in Nonaka-cho, Kurume City. The owner, who trained at "Daikyu Ramen" inheriting the DNA of Kurume Ramen, opened this popular tonkotsu ramen shop in 2015. You can enjoy the simple and delicious taste of Kurume tonkotsu ramen, along with a great atmosphere and customer service. The reviewer tried the raw egg ramen, which reminded them of the old days of Kurume Ramen. The shop is located a few hundred meters from JR Minamikurume Station. The interior has a counter, tables, and a raised seating area, suitable for individuals or groups. The menu includes raw egg ramen, vegetable ramen, wonton ramen, stamina ramen, and even a special island ramen made with Kurume-grown island chili peppers. The reviewer enjoyed the raw egg ramen, praising its nostalgic and flavorful taste, with a broth that was not too thick but had a good balance of richness and a refreshing aftertaste. The noodles had a good texture that complemented the soup well. The chashu had a flavorful taste, and the green onions added a refreshing touch. The reviewer also tried the fried rice, which was delicious. Overall, they found the ramen at Marukyu to be a blend of authentic Kurume Ramen flavors with a touch of nostalgia and modern appeal. The reviewer also appreciated the great atmosphere and excellent service at the restaurant.

Established on November 2, 2015. It seems like the owner trained at Ookura Ramen in Tosu. This location used to be a ramen shop called Ryosanpo in the past. I have eaten here once before, and it was a ramen similar to Daikyu style, and oddly enough, this time it is also a ramen shop of Daikyu style. This is my first visit. I went to Marukyu Ramen in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, located along Route 755. Next to it is Nanjing Senryou Honke's Kofu store, and Marusei Ramen, Kuiyoi Ken are relatively close by. There is a parking lot available where you can park about 5-6 cars in the adjacent parking lot. Now let's go inside the store. Inside the store, I briefly hesitated if we should take off our shoes. As soon as you enter, there is a step about one step high like an entrance. It's a somewhat unique layout. There is a counter with 8 seats in front, a 6-seater tatami room on the left, a 4-seater tatami room on the right, and a 6-seater table at the back on the right. The capacity is about 24 people in total. Let's take a look at the menu. Reasonable pricing. The extra noodles are a bit expensive, right? They also have unique ramen dishes and alcoholic beverages. There were also a few customers eating horumon (offal) while drinking beer. The table condiments include black pepper, sesame, salt, gyoza sauce, chili oil, spicy garlic, and pickled ginger. I ordered a C set with ramen and draft beer. They also asked about the firmness of the noodles. The dish arrived in about 7 minutes! Only with chashu and green onions. Let's take a sip of the soup... The temperature is good. My first impression was that it's like a downgraded version of Daikyu Ramen... The taste lacks depth and seems a bit blurry. It's not rich, not refined, and lacks umami. It doesn't feel like a soup that costs a lot of money. Let's try the noodles... I felt that the texture was somehow different, and it turns out that they are flat noodles to an extent that you can't tell. They are thin, smooth noodles. The noodles don't mix well with the soup and somehow feel watery. Let's try the chashu... Is it pork shoulder? In the Daikyu style, the chashu is not very fatty. And it's quite thin. The gyoza tastes like typical ramen shop gyoza. The bill is... C set 700 yen, Ramen 500 yen, Beer 390 yen, Total 1590 yen. It's below the price range. There are many historical and delicious ramen shops in Kurume, so there's no need to come all the way here. Also, the service was mediocre. The staff's lack of smiles. The atmosphere was not good, so I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave early. Don't you feel the passion of the owner in a good restaurant? I didn't feel it in this store. Thank you for the meal.

Recently, I've been really into ramen. Well, it's just a joke, but longtime followers might remember me talking about my "favorite delicious ramen ranking." I do talk about ramen quite a bit, but it seems like my image is different. Even though I don't consider myself fancy or refined, in the online world where faces aren't visible, my image seems to have taken on a life of its own (laughs). Anyway, for my first lunch, I went to Maruku, a ramen shop in Nonaka-cho, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The parking lot is a bit tight. When you enter, there are raised seating areas on both sides, so it could feel awkward if there are other customers. Some sort of partition would be nice (laughs). I was able to sit at the counter without waiting, and I ordered the ramen "firm." It was served in about 2 minutes - a clean tonkotsu soup with standard medium-thin noodles, topped with only chashu and green onions. The simplicity was refreshing, but I would have liked it even more with seaweed on top (laughs). Now, let's try the soup. There's not much visible fat, but you can taste the richness of the tonkotsu flavor. This is what you would expect from a traditional Kurume-style ramen. The noodles complement the soup well. Despite being a relatively new shop, open for about 4-5 years, it exudes a sense of stability and history. Following the lineage of Kurume ramen, the roots of this shop can be traced back to legendary Kurume ramen pioneers such as Koyo-ken, Marukou Ramen Center in Kiyama-cho, Daikyu Ramen in Kurume, and Mita River's Daikyu Ramen. This shop seems to carry on the authentic memory of Kurume ramen. This simplicity is backed by confidence, making it a delicious ramen that never gets boring. I'm already thinking about my second lunch, so I'll refrain from ordering extra noodles or sides. Thanks for the meal. My happiness was right here. P.S. As I was writing this review, a certain TV program featured Kurume, and they even highlighted a sushi restaurant where I managed to have lunch after many years. It was already a popular spot, and now it might become even harder to get a table (T^T).
