I purchased these dorayaki as a souvenir at the gift corner of Itami Airport when flying back from Osaka. I had bought them before as gifts for friends but had never tried them myself, so this time I bought them for me.
- Dorayaki (Tsubu): Moist and sweet castella dough with plenty of eggs and large red beans.
- Chestnut-filled Dorayaki: As the name suggests, it has about 4 large chestnuts inside. The center is white bean paste. It really gives you the sensation of eating chestnuts. They cost around 450 yen each, but they are worth it. Both dorayaki were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I visited Nohyoan Osaka International Airport Store in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The main store is a bit inconveniently located, but it is a very popular dumpling shop. This time, I chose the dorayaki because I enjoyed it last time. After passing through security, there is a food court and the shop is located almost directly in front. I purchased dorayaki with red bean paste. The mitarashi dango was made fresh that day, so I opted for the dorayaki with a shelf life of 3 days. I don't mind eating it a little past the expiration date myself, but I am more considerate when giving it to others. The dorayaki with red bean paste cost 324 yen. The service was good and it made for a nice souvenir. I will definitely visit again. Thank you very much.

When I was heading back to Tokyo and stopped by Itami Airport, I found a mitarashi dango shop near the baggage inspection area. It was the same mitarashi dango that was featured on "The Buzz." Although you can't eat it on the go, you can buy it as a warm souvenir. It would make a great snack to bring to the lounge. The taste was really delicious! The dango was soft and tasty! I bought a pack of 5, but if it's this delicious, I should have bought a larger set. I finished it with a slight regret.

In Shin-Osaka, there is a cheesecake called "Delicheese" by the famous shop "Teppan". I decided to try it at Itami Airport because I hadn't bought it there before. The shop is located in the passage after the security checkpoint, called "Narifukuan Osaka Airport Store (Itami Airport Store)". I usually arrive just in time for departure, or if I have time, I relax at the lounge. When Itami Airport was renovated, I explored the place, but there wasn't anything particularly appealing, so I usually bought cakes upon arrival. There were interesting souvenirs like "Itami Airport Limited Edition - Katsukuri" and "Nanakorobi (probably dorayaki)", but when the staff recommended the most popular item, I decided to try it. It was "Grilled Mitarashi (10 pieces) for ¥1,782". I shared it at my usual bar in Tokyo. I presented it to everyone and had a bite myself. When I opened the box, there were 5 pieces in each pack wrapped in plastic. It looked like pickles, with a dark sauce making it hard to see the contents (see photo). When I served it on a plate, it looked like a black object...a stealth fighter? (see photo, brightened for clarity). The result! Everyone at the bar finished it in seconds! The sauce had a burnt, fragrant taste and was quite rich, which paired perfectly with the moderately soft dango. The expiration date is "within the day", so please be careful!

This is my second visit. I bought both the red bean paste and chunky red bean paste dorayaki. The expiration date is short, about 3 days, but the freshness is evident as they were made in the morning. The skin is thin, chewy, and moist. The red bean paste has a great texture. Purchased items (including tax): - Namiyoshi Dorayaki red bean paste 324 yen - Namiyoshi Dorayaki chunky red bean paste 324 yen

I discovered my favorite Noryoan's cream-filled freshly baked dorayaki at Itami Airport! It was in the area after passing through the security check on the ANA side. When I stopped by Namba Walk in Minami on my way back to Osaka, it was sold out. I'm so happy to be able to eat it now. The generous amount of cream and sweet red bean paste is a classic combination. The fluffy and thin pastry doesn't overpower the cream and red bean paste, which is great. (When you buy a convenience store dorayaki, you end up scooping out the cream and red bean paste with a spoon and not eating the pastry, haha.) It has a slightly sweet taste from the brown sugar. When I opened it on the plane and was about to eat it, they immediately offered me a drink and even gave me a wet towel. #Noryoan #cream-filled dorayaki #freshly baked dorayaki #cream is a drink #cream lover #ANA #Itami Airport

My friend from Osaka visited me. They brought me dorayaki from Rofuan as a souvenir. It seems to be famous in Osaka and makes a great gift. The packaging is stylish and each dorayaki is individually wrapped. The dorayaki itself is small but the castella cake is moist and the red bean paste is not too sweet, making it delicious.

I spent New Year's Day with my family at my parents' house and stopped by for a sweet treat while waiting for my flight back to Yokohama. The "Kuri-nama dorayaki" might be a seasonal item. Inside the dorayaki pastry, there were chestnuts and whipped cream sandwiched, with a gentle sweetness that was milder than red bean paste. I enjoyed it with coffee in the lounge. It was delicious.

When passing through the ANA security inspection area, there is a food court, but before that, there is a corner of souvenirs. I was curious about it for a while and decided to try it out. I opened the box of 5 pieces of Aburi Mitarashi and found Mitarashi and rice cake-like dumplings skewered on a stick inside a plastic bag. This... is so delicious! The rice cake is finely moist and soft! I love Kagoshima's Janbo Mochi, but this feels like a more elegant and finely crafted version. However, it's very difficult to take out of the bag! I think it would be better if there was a different type of packaging... I hope they improve this. I will try other products next time.

The burnt flavor of the mitarashi dango goes well with the sweet red bean paste. The mochi is chewy with a slight bounce to it. The dorayaki has a light and creamy filling that is delicious to eat. Thank you for the meal.

Today I have a business trip, and I wanted to treat someone I am grateful for to my recommended Mitarashi dango, so I visited "Rouyouan" at Itami Airport. I am using JAL, but this shop is located on the ANA side (only accessible after check-in), so it was quite a walk from the morning. Today's purchases: - Aburi Mitarashi (5 pieces) x 2 - Mitarashi Torotoro x 2 Since they didn't have the 10-piece Mitarashi in stock, I ended up with this selection. They don't sell individual pieces, and unfortunately, you can't eat in, which is a bit disappointing. However, I really think this Aburi Mitarashi is delicious, so I hope the recipient will enjoy it!

Actually, I asked my husband to bring back some Mitarashi dango from "Kihachisouhonpo" as a souvenir from his business trip. However, the store at Itami Airport had moved to the security inspection area of JAL, so he was in a panic because we were flying with ANA. He managed to buy the Mitarashi dango for me. The taste of the sweet bean paste Mitarashi is really good, with a pleasant aftertaste. It's satisfying to eat one stick, so I can control myself (laughs). Although I miss the slightly burnt aroma from Kihachisouhonpo's Mitarashi, the taste is hard to compare. It's a bit inconvenient that they come in a plastic bag, but it's just a bonus to lick the bean paste that sticks to your fingers (laughs).

It's not mitarashi dango, but mitarashi stick. The generous amount of sweet soy glaze clinging to the stick is very delicious. The balance between the sweetness of the rice cake and the sauce is just right. I think the thickness of the mitarashi stick plays a role in this. You have to be careful when taking it out of the bag, or your hands will get sticky.

In October 2020, I took a trip from Itami Airport with ANA. The South Terminal security check area has been significantly renovated, so I decided to check out the shops. I came across "Rofuan" and was intrigued by their "Morning Glow Dorayaki," so I bought one for 270 yen. The dorayaki uses iodine eggs for the batter, giving it a delicious eggy flavor and a fluffy yet moist texture. The red bean paste, made from large Hokkaido beans, had a rich sweetness that I enjoyed. It was a delightful treat. I believe they also sell regular dorayaki, so I'll have to try that next time to compare the two.

The new area after the security check at Itami Airport South Terminal (ANA side) is home to a long-established Japanese confectionery shop with its main store in Namba. Although the mitarashi dango is famous, I chose the dorayaki (red bean paste filling) for a change, priced at 260 yen. The mochi-like dough is soft and the red bean paste is not too sweet. The size is small, so you can easily eat several pieces. I'm curious about their pudding too. I'll get the pudding as a souvenir next time! I wanted to try more things, but the shops were closed by the time I got there, so I ended up visiting only two. I guess I'll have to come back next month for more exploration.

I warmed up the "mitarashi dango" using a hot water bath. I chose it as a souvenir for myself after seeing it was well-received on TV. It was a bit of a hassle to heat it up in boiling water for 7 minutes, but it was delicious with a moderate level of sweetness!

I happened to find a shop by chance while visiting Itami Airport, and the food looked warm and delicious, but I resisted the temptation and waited until I got home to eat it. It was soft and chewy, and absolutely delicious. For those who love mitarashi, this dish is irresistible. ❤️
