During my business trip to Osaka, I wanted to try Osaka's kushikatsu, so I went to Kushikatsu Janjan. The assorted kushikatsu was delicious. The sauce was really good. They also serve unusual dishes, although I didn't order any. It was an interesting restaurant. They use a mobile ordering system, but I found it funny that the menu had a section for unusual dishes instead of just kushikatsu. lol

In the past, there used to be quite a few all-you-can-eat kushikatsu places. Some places would keep bringing out kushikatsu until you said stop, but now it's hard to find those kinds of places. Here, they have some expensive ingredients like shrimp that are not included, but scallops and pork belly are unlimited. This is a dream for food lovers. That brown, crispy kushikatsu that you can eat as much as you want without worrying about the cost. Wonderful. The course usually starts with a recommended 10 pieces per person. So, for a group of 4, that's 40 pieces. After that, it's all-you-can-eat. Therefore, in our team, I usually end up eating most of these recommended pieces! It goes by quickly. Next, the other members order what they like. That's how it goes. The strategy is how to surpass the initial 10 pieces. That's the key to victory. Of course, there's also all-you-can-drink and other dishes available. You can even eat endless okonomiyaki!

I came here because the Golden My Reviewer was eating "scorpion" (lol). The main store is a kushikatsu restaurant in Shinsekai. First, I had the kushikatsu set meal. Mmm, delicious. And for 680 yen, it's a great deal. The kushikatsu in Shinsekai is top-notch. I also ordered grasshoppers. Grasshoppers taste similar to shrimp, like fried shrimp shells. Scorpions don't taste like shrimp, but they have a crispy texture. Surprisingly delicious! I was worried because I didn't enjoy the grilled cicada skewers I had before. The ingredients are imported from Southeast Asia, including scorpions and grasshoppers, which are commonly eaten in China and Indochina. Scorpions are not insects but belong to the order Scorpiones, related to spiders. Getting stung by one is quite painful. There are fossils dating back 400 million years. The Earth's oxygen concentration was 18% and CO2 levels were about 10 times higher than today. The climate was warmer than now. Humans have only been around for 200,000 years. They also had alligator, snapping turtle, and tadpoles on the menu. The lunch set meal is of high quality for the price. I ordered the kushikatsu set meal with 7 skewers for 680 yen (tax included) from the lunch menu, as well as scorpion for 860 yen and grasshoppers for 330 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I used the Osaka Welcome Campaign coupon I received from my brother-in-law. On top of that, daytime drinking is cheap! It's only 100 yen! And you can have as many drinks as you want! The cabbage is free for seconds. The kushikatsu was crispy and delicious. My favorites were the shrimp with shiso leaf and the kiss fish. The doteyaki was also well-prepared and tasty. During happy hour from noon to 6 pm, you can also enjoy highballs and chu-hai for only 80 yen, making it a great spot for a quick daytime drink. I tried the scorpion kushikatsu this time, and the taste and texture are similar to shrimp. The manager mentioned that they plan to add even more unique options in the future, so if you're feeling brave, give it a try! This time, I went to the kushikatsu restaurant Jan Jan in Sakaisuji-Honmachi! It was a fresh experience as I don't go to kushikatsu restaurants often. I ordered a set of 10 kushikatsu skewers and a drink, trying out 10 different types of kushikatsu. It was a surprise as the 10 types were chef's choice, so I didn't know what to expect. In addition to the usual fish, meat, and vegetables, this restaurant also serves exotic items like...scorpion! Have you ever tried eating exotic food like scorpion before? I never thought I would, but I gave it a try. I only ate the claw part as I didn't have the courage to eat the body. Surprisingly, it wasn't as smelly as I thought and had a crispy taste. However, it was quite tough to chew. The inside was a bit moist, which was unexpected. It was a fun experience trying exotic food while enjoying kushikatsu. The other kushikatsu skewers had large pieces of ingredients with a light coating, making them perfect for snacking with drinks. They also provided salt and curry powder for seasoning, which was a nice touch. The restaurant had a clean and quiet atmosphere, unlike the bustling ones in Shinsekai, making it a good place to enjoy a meal with friends. And now, even the Prime Minister has been infected... The heat wave continues, so I'm thinking of having a delicious beer. I decided to have a casual drink with a friend from work, just two middle-aged guys. It's still bright at 6 pm in this season. I've been here for lunch before, but it's my first time at night. Let's eat and drink! First, we ordered the following: Assorted skewers (10 pieces) for 1,200 yen. We thought this would last a while, but it was devoured in no time by us hungry old guys like hungry hyenas. We quickly added the following to our order: asparagus (480 yen), pickled ginger (240 yen), squid (320 yen), scallops (400 yen), and smelt (320 yen). When we ordered the doteyaki, the staff mentioned a new item, so we decided to try that too: Garlic-flavored hormone and tendon stew for 480 yen. The product name serves as the product description itself. It was a good choice to try. It was interesting to compare it with the doteyaki we ordered at the same time. Doteyaki for 420 yen. Premium beer, highball, lemon sour for 380 yen, and lemon highball for 480 yen. The prices are reasonable, so we ended up drinking too much. Lotus root chips for 280 yen, which my friend ordered. The curry flavor matched well and we couldn't stop eating. We left the restaurant with a full stomach, satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I had a one-on-one drink with the respected reviewer N at a restaurant near Tsutenkaku, the main branch of Kushi Katsu Janjan. We tried various recommended dishes a la carte. The freshly fried kushi katsu is the best, no doubt. It doesn't have to be high-end ingredients, even red sausages are okay. The freshly fried kushi katsu is just heavenly. What surprised me was the all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink course for kushi katsu on the menu. You can order as many kushi katsu as you want without hesitation. It's like a dream come true, not in Urayasu but actually in Awajimachi. Next time, I will definitely challenge this course.

All-you-can-eat and drink for 4,400 yen! I was looking for a kushikatsu restaurant that can accommodate 9 people and is easily accessible from the hotel, and this place popped up. According to locals, it's not that cheap, haha. Before ordering the all-you-can-eat option, they bring out 10 items, and then you can order whatever you like. The strategy seems to be to fill you up with the 10 items already. However, be careful as the shrimp and shiso rolls are not included in the all-you-can-eat menu! I really wanted to eat the shrimp and shiso rolls... I wish they would have included it in at least one of the first 10 items... If they are going to charge this price... It was nice that they quickly brought out drinks for the all-you-can-drink option.

I enjoyed it very much. The kushikatsu was small in size, but each one was delicious. The meat kushikatsu had a thin skin with juicy meat inside. Plus, you can order with your smartphone, so even a woman dining alone can enjoy delicious kushikatsu without any hesitation! If you want to eat kushikatsu in Osaka, I highly recommend Janjan.

The new world of kushikatsu can be eaten at a restaurant in Honmachi. It was so delicious that I was moved! During my stay in Osaka, I went to many kushikatsu restaurants, but this place is by far the best. It is exceptionally delicious. A must-try dish is the deep-fried skewered milk and strawberry, which may seem like a punishment but is actually incredibly delicious. Highly recommended!

I felt like eating kushikatsu after work, so I stopped by Jan Jan on my way home. Kushikatsu definitely goes well with beer. The beef skewers are cheap and juicy. Personally, I recommend the chicken breast with shiso and asparagus. They stay open pretty late, so you can enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace.

I think this year's trend word is "#平成最後の" (the last of Heisei). Today is the last dinner of Heisei, what should I eat? Maybe my favorite mackerel simmered dish? Or the overwhelmingly recommended specialty, Tenkaippin ramen? I was considering Tenkaippin, but it's a bit far from the hotel I'm staying at, so I ended up choosing kushikatsu instead. The reason I chose this restaurant is because it's close to the hotel. I arrived early in the evening and the place was quite empty, but later on they got reservations, so it seems to be popular. They have a wide variety of skewers on the menu. Personally, I wished the sauce had a bit more punch, as I have a sweet tooth. The batter was crispy and had a good texture. If you go early, you can get draft beer or chu-hi for 180 yen, which is a good deal. The doteyaki was a bit too meaty and had a shallow flavor, which was disappointing. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Hmm, so this is the last of Heisei. As a finale, I went to Marugame Seimen for some udon noodles.

The first 5 trial dishes seemed a bit over-fried, making me think it was a miss, but the fried food served after that was delicious, which was great. It was nice to be able to drink cheaply during Happy Hour. The friendly service made me feel comfortable while drinking.

It was very delicious. I think this is a popular restaurant. There were times when people had to wait outside, probably because it was a weekend. We had made a reservation so we were able to get in smoothly, but I recommend making a reservation if you plan to go on a weekend. The regular kushikatsu was tasty, but we also enjoyed the exotic kushikatsu with my friends and had a lot of fun (laughs). The speed of service was fast and good. We had a great time. It was worth coming all the way from Saitama for sightseeing. We will definitely come back.

I went at night. The staff were friendly and the 10-piece assorted choice set was very good. The Doteyaki was very delicious.
