The skin is well grilled and crispy, giving it a great texture. The charred aroma and sweet sauce complement each other perfectly. It has a strong sweetness that is favored by people from Kyushu. Service time was 8 minutes. The atmosphere is like a traditional yakitori restaurant, which I personally like. There are counter seats and tatami mat seating. The cost performance is reasonable. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

A yakitori restaurant near Rokubonmatsu Station. The historical building gives off a nostalgic vibe. When I entered, I was surprised by the thick smoke! It was smoky, very smoky! I was a bit worried at first, but the beer that came out first was delicious. The pork belly, bonjiri, chicken cartilage, potato butter, and grilled pork feet were all perfectly seasoned. The reason why the restaurant was fully packed became clear!

After having a few drinks in Rokumonsu, we headed to this popular restaurant near the station as recommended by my local friends. We arrived right at opening time and were greeted with a choice of counter or tatami seating. I wanted to sit near the grill, but the owner kindly suggested a spot away from the smoke. We were served unlimited cabbage as a starter, with a mix of shredded and julienned vegetables - a nutritious start for just 150 yen. Cheers with a freezing highball in hand, we enjoyed a variety of yakitori skewers, chicken tataki, and soboro rice bowl. The skewers were generously filled, and the flavors were top-notch. The restaurant quickly filled up within 30 minutes, so I recommend visiting here over a cheap izakaya. Delicious meal, thank you!

My favorite yakitori restaurant in Fukuoka. Reservations are only accepted on the same day, but you can call from around 4:00 p.m. Recommended items include nankotsu (cartilage) meatball, chicken skin with mayonnaise sauce, marinated chicken liver, grilled chicken skin, and ramen.

The smoke was so strong that I couldn't stay inside the restaurant. (My eyes were so irritated that I started tearing up...) The food was delicious but it's a shame. I'm really disappointed.

I visited the restaurant for the first time with my wife. The place was crowded with many customers, but the pork belly was very delicious. However, the restaurant was filled with smoke from the delicious grilled chicken. I will visit again with my wife.

A long-established yakitori restaurant in Rokumonmatsu. It has a traditional yakitori shop atmosphere. Be careful as it can get smoky in front of the grill. You will be given paper and a pencil first. Write your order on the paper and hand it to the staff. Don't forget to give back the paper and pencil together. It is recommended to order all at once as additional orders may take time. By the way, additional orders can also be made verbally. The draft premium beer is incredibly delicious. The skewers are best enjoyed with the shop's choice of seasoning. Chicken thigh: thick and juicy. This is the cause of the smoke. Parent chicken: has a light and exquisite sauce. It tastes great even when it cools down. It's a workout for your jaw muscles. Liver: perfectly grilled with a rich sauce. Skin: crispy. Be careful not to hurt your mouth. Heart: the lightly seasoned sauce is a perfect match. Gizzard: a must-try. Enjoy the texture. Enoki mushrooms: eat them right away when served. They can be hot. Miso-marinated: the more you chew, the more umami flavor comes out. Pig trotters: crispy skin, tender inside. Goes well with ponzu sauce. My recommendations also include grilled gizzard with vinegar and fried chicken. Well, you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. And the cost performance is just fantastic. The menu changed in 2018, with prices going up but the portion sizes increased as well, so the cost performance remains the same.

Cuisine and content: At the popular Torifuku restaurant, there are many customers enjoying evening drinks. The horse sashimi and chicken skin vinegar dish came out quickly for a toast. The freshly fried chicken karaage and various chicken skewers like oyatori and tsukimi were generously sized and delicious. Be careful not to order too much yakitori as it can be hard to finish. I recommend ordering a smaller amount to share. The oyatori and liver skewers were particularly impressive and tasty. Thank you, Torifuku!

I felt like eating yakitori in the neighborhood, so I searched on Tabelog and found a highly rated and popular place, so I decided to visit. The menu had a note in the corner saying "Small space, smoky, sorry." I was intrigued by that kind of atmosphere. The yakitori here is plentiful and yet very cheap. They serve things like chicken neck meat whole. It was so surprising that at first I thought, how am I supposed to eat this, but I just dug in and enjoyed it. I always end up ordering too much and having to take some home. The skewers are consistently delicious with the perfect amount of salt and sauce. Cheap and tasty! I will definitely go back. When I left, I said thank you for the meal.

I was finally able to visit "Torifuku," a yakitori restaurant in Fukuoka that always ranks high. I arrived at 5:40 PM, earlier than planned, as I had heard that there might be a line even before the opening. When I called the restaurant to make a reservation (which they didn't accept in the end), I was told that there were already two groups waiting. I entered the restaurant right at 6:00 PM opening time. Depending on the number of people, they guide you to the seats on the first floor first, but we were led to the tatami seating on the landing of the stairs leading to the second floor. It was a bit surprising but I liked the old-fashioned atmosphere of the restaurant. The hanging fluorescent lights and the old ventilation fan and air conditioner blackened with grease gave it a unique charm. We started with horse sashimi, which was quite tough (probably because it was frozen) when it arrived. After waiting a bit, it turned out to be quite tasty. The price of over 10 pieces for 480 yen is very reasonable. The vinegar with skin is also recommended at 350 yen. How many skewers did we end up ordering? We ordered various skewers such as pork belly, skin, gizzard, liver, heart, cartilage, chicken wings, shiitake mushrooms, and green peppers. We ate so much that we forgot the exact count. The recommended pork belly at 150 yen was thick and juicy, providing a satisfying bite. It was cooked perfectly, not too dry, and tender. The reputation was well deserved. The other skewers were also generously sized and reasonably priced, ranging from 90 yen to around 200 yen. The chicken liver skewer at 120 yen was exceptional. It was thick, fluffy, and cooked to perfection. It was so delicious. Overall, Torifuku's yakitori was fantastic. The wait time from ordering to serving may be a bit long, which could be challenging for families with young children. However, the restaurant's atmosphere was great, and the delicious and reasonably priced skewers made it worth the wait. I have no complaints about Torifuku. It was a thoroughly satisfying experience. It was delicious! For more details, visit the blog: [link to the blog post]. "Torifuku" is a yakitori restaurant located near the former Kyushu University site in Rokumonmatsu, in front of Lawson. It is a popular old-fashioned yakitori restaurant, always bustling with customers. I decided to stop by and was able to enter the restaurant. The place was very busy, and I was informed in advance that the grilled items might take some time. Upon opening the door, I saw a counter and a raised tatami area. There was a lot of smoke inside. There was a staircase leading to the second floor, where I was guided to a spacious tatami room. I ordered a bottle of beer and checked the grilled items menu, which ranged from 100 to 200 yen per skewer. Anticipating a long wait, I ordered about 10 skewers for two people. I also ordered cold tofu and chicken skin with vinegar. We enjoyed our beer with tofu and vinegar while waiting for about 20 minutes. Then, the miso pork belly, pork belly, and gizzard arrived. They were quite large skewers, and the oil on the pork belly was impressive. The sauce was on the sweeter side, so one skewer was quite filling. We also ordered an extra serving of cabbage, which was charged extra, and it came with radish, carrot, and cucumber slices, creating a salad-like dish. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the chicken gizzard, liver, and breast meat arrived. The breast meat was refreshing and tasty, while the chicken gizzard was sweet and huge. It might be a bit heavy for some people. The sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking, overshadowing the flavor of the good quality meat. I think salt-grilled would have been better. We also ordered chicken wings, but couldn't finish them, so the kind owner offered to pack them for us without any fuss. She was very friendly and accommodating. By the way, the chicken wings tasted delicious the next day when we had them. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food! ^^

In Fukuoka's Ropponmatsu, Torifuku offers fresh chicken sashimi and delicious yakitori. It's a popular yakitori restaurant in Ropponmatsu, Fukuoka, where reservations are hard to come by. Luckily, we were able to make a reservation and visit this old-fashioned yakitori restaurant. We started with some beer and ordered the chicken sashimi, which was generously served and priced at 600 yen. The pink-colored and tender chicken sashimi was fresh and delicious, with plenty of vinegar and green onions to add a refreshing touch. The yakitori skewers were surprisingly large, with juicy and flavorful cuts of meat like pork belly, red chicken, beef intestines, and crispy chicken skin. We were impressed by the quality and taste of the dishes, especially considering the reasonable prices. The restaurant quickly filled up with customers, confirming its popularity as a go-to spot for tasty yakitori and chicken sashimi.

I visited this place for the first time in about 10 years. It's a small shop with an elderly owner, serving the best grilled skewers and tasty grilled ramen. I used to stop by often when I visited from Nagoya to Nagasaki. On this day, the shop was reserved for a party until 7:30 pm, so I lined up just before it opened to the public. I was the first in line and managed to get a seat at the counter, but it quickly filled up. The place is still very popular. The grilling area is small for the number of orders, and since they use charcoal, there is quite a wait. The grilled skewers were delicious! They are dipped in a special sauce before serving, but I found the sauce too sweet for my taste. If you want to savor the quality of the ingredients, it's better to order them with salt. It seems like there may have been a change in generations as it was not the elderly owner, but a second generation (maybe?) working hard. The complimentary cabbage was replaced with a salad-like appetizer, and the grilled ramen had transformed into a dish where boiled noodles were simply coated in sauce, which was disappointing. Next time, I will remember to order all skewers with salt.

Torifuku (Bara, Zuri, Kashiwa, Oyadori, Skewers, etc.) Address: 2-6-8 Ropponmatsu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City Phone: 092-741-4989 Bara, Zuri, Kashiwa, Oyadori, Skewers, Enoki Rolls, Shiitake Mushrooms priced at 100-150 yen each I felt like having some delicious yakitori that day, so I wandered around Ropponmatsu and found this restaurant, "Torifuku." I had eaten at a different location in Nagasumi before, but this was my first visit to the Ropponmatsu branch. The first floor was full, so we were seated on the second floor. When ordering beer on the second floor, they informed us that they didn't have medium-sized glasses, so we had to choose between a bottled beer or a pitcher. We ordered a pitcher. First, we had Bara, Kashiwa, and Zuri skewers. The Bara was juicy and flavorful, while the Kashiwa had a nice kick of wasabi. Next, we tried the Shiitake mushrooms, which had a buttery flavor. Then we had Enoki rolls, which had a crunchy texture. Lastly, we had Skewers of Oyadori, which had a firm texture and a juicy taste. The prices at this restaurant are quite reasonable, and the food is delicious. It seems to be a popular spot, so it's best to order your skewers early as they can get busy. Overall, it was a tasty experience. Thank you for the meal. Next, we headed to another restaurant...

Torifuku is a popular yakitori restaurant in Ropponmatsu that is difficult to make a reservation at. The reason for this is that they only accept reservations starting 15 minutes before the visit, and if you don't arrive within 15 minutes of your reservation, it will be cancelled. When ordering, a regular customer friend recommended some dishes. The first dish was edamame. When you order yakitori, they first serve cabbage on a plate, more like a salad. The first yakitori was salt-grilled chicken meatballs. Then came the Fukuoka classic, salt-grilled pork belly. Next was the classic grilled chicken skin with sauce. Then grilled chicken liver with sauce. Enoki mushroom wrapped in bacon was also ordered. We also had jagabata (buttered baked potato) and grilled rice balls, which came with delicious miso soup. Finally, we finished with fried sweet potatoes for dessert. The restaurant is located near Lawson in Ropponmatsu. Torifuku, 2-6-8 Ropponmatsu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, TEL 092-741-4989.

"I went to this restaurant based on a recommendation from a regular customer at my workplace (the wife of the owner of a long-established Japanese restaurant). However, every time I tried to go, it was always full and I was turned away a couple of times. So, I decided to go right when they opened and finally managed to get a table. Even though it was a weekday, it was already full within 15 minutes. The meat, such as the Saga-produced Akadori skewers starting at 70 yen each, was of excellent quality and taste, and quite reasonably priced. I highly recommend the "assorted chicken sashimi" which used to be a secret menu item, with 5 different types of chicken sashimi for 600 yen (enough for a family of 4). I was surprised that instead of the usual raw cabbage, they served a vegetable salad. The appetizers included tofu, edamame, and vinegar-miso tripe. The thick-cut pork belly was delicious. There were four different types of fried chicken, making it hard to choose. They also had onion-wrapped pork belly, plenty of chicken wings, eggplant, liver, squid, shrimp, and more. For two adults, four beers, one highball, two children, four juices, the average cost per person was around 2400 yen, and we were very satisfied. Despite declining TV coverage and only one review on Tabelog, the restaurant is always full. It's a place that I hesitate to recommend or write about because I want to keep it a secret."
