Lunch while admiring the garden created by the 7th generation Ogawa Jihei. You can also take a stroll in the garden before and after your meal. I ordered the Western lunch course (hamburger). The boxed appetizers are generous in portion, and desserts are served on a plate, which I think offers good value for the price. They also offer afternoon tea limited to 5 groups per day during tea time.

I came to Kisui. I participated in an event invitation and was impressed by the splendid building and beautiful garden (*´ω`*) Now, I will have their special bento. Since it was a business dinner, I only took a quick photo. Each dish was very delicious and tasty☆ For dessert in a different room, I enjoyed it with coffee while looking at the garden. On the way back, I relaxed and returned home in the premium car of Keihan☆ Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Since my twenties, I visited Nanzen-ji for the first time♪ I made a reservation on Ikyu over a month ago and had lunch. Nanzen-ji's specialty, Yudofu Kaiseki course with 7 dishes including sparkling wine (5500 yen). I had a seat with a view of the Japanese garden through a large window. I was able to enjoy a leisurely lunch with pleasant service. The first bamboo shoots, fragrant bonito flakes, freshly cooked rice♪ It was a blissful moment~ Thank you for the feast.

I visited for lunch from a distant place. I usually skip mentioning the location as it is often praised in other reviews, but this time I can't skip it. Just seeing the garden is worth a visit. While there are many French restaurants in Kyoto with one side made of glass offering a view, this restaurant might be the best in Kyoto. It's wonderful. The interior is limited in seating, creating a very calm space. Now, onto the food. First, a soup made with Kyoto carrots. It has a subtle carrot flavor and is delicious. Cheers with sparkling wine. What's next for wine? When shown the menu, I was delighted to see a pairing course available. I decided to go with the 3-course pairing. The meal started with an appetizer assortment. In simple terms, it's like a Western-style New Year's feast. More accurately, it's a wine pairing appetizer assortment. Beautifully arranged like a pine needle bento box. The cuisine is French, not Japanese. Enjoying small portions of delicious food with tasty wine is my ideal. So, I had three glasses of white wine with just the appetizers. French cuisine at a Japanese restaurant is meticulously prepared, resulting in very good flavors. The food and wine pair exceptionally well. The wine goes down smoothly. There is a sommelier at this restaurant. A young sommelier who recently joined. They can pair wines not only with the food but also with your mood of the day. A kind-hearted sommelier. They are friendly, so you can consult them about anything. Eager and providing a well-rounded wine selection. Looking forward to their future endeavors. It would be great if this place becomes a destination for delicious wines from all over the country. I enjoyed chatting with the sommelier so much during the main fish course that I left it unfinished. I'm sorry. Also, the baguette was delicious. A baguette that pairs well with wine. The sommelier and I agreed that this type of baguette goes well with wine. We even had dessert wine. I was completely satisfied with the delicious wine, wine-paired cuisine, and baguette provided. I think I had a total of 6 glasses of wine. I've become a big fan of this restaurant. Cheers!

Afternoon tea tour in Kyoto. The afternoon tea served in a spacious area with a view of the garden is limited to 5 groups per day and requires advance reservation. The standout feature of the afternoon tea here is the variety of savory items. Perhaps due to the summer season, there were many refreshing sweets that were delicious without being too heavy until the end. It was also nice that the tea is served in cups instead of pots, allowing you to enjoy various types of tea. The menu is as follows: ■ Sweets (9 types) - Peach cream puff - Lemon macaron - Chrysanthemum stone pavement (mint chocolate) - Bergamot mousse and white wine jelly - Lulopassion - Mango opera - Caramel banana cookie sandwich - Lychee and raspberry sauce - Warabimochi ■ Savory (5 types) - Pate, prosciutto, smoked salmon assortment - Vegetable and mozzarella mousse - Shirasu and cabbage quiche - Tajima beef mini hamburger - Cream cheese and bacon, pickles croissant sandwich ■ Scones Plain scone (clotted cream, rhubarb jam) Personally, I liked the pate, prosciutto, smoked salmon assortment because it had the salty flavor I enjoy, and the rhubarb jam on the scone had a sweet and sour taste similar to strawberries, which I really liked. The caramel banana cookie sandwich is a must-try for banana cake lovers. The peach cream puff was also delicious with its crispy choux pastry. I would like to visit again in a different season.

On Wednesday at 14:30, we went to Kikusui on the approach to Nanzen-ji temple. I have posted a review of this place on YouTube, so please search for "mog and mog." I made a reservation through Ikyu. They offer a limited afternoon tea for five groups per day on weekdays, and the photos from those who have been there showed a lovely garden, which made me decide to go immediately upon seeing it. It seems to be a regular limited event. When I went, they had the "Matcha Afternoon Tea" available, which was labeled as a limited-time offer from May 16th to June 30th (I visited on June 22nd). The weekend sessions are held on the second floor, so I adjusted my schedule and went on a Wednesday to enjoy the beautiful garden view without any obstructions. Despite heavy rain the day before, the weather cleared up during the afternoon tea, which boosted my excitement. The Matcha Afternoon Tea featured many matcha-flavored sweets. The most delicious ones, in my opinion, were the passion fruit mousse and white wine jelly (not matcha, surprisingly) and the salmon croissant, which was incredibly tasty. Honestly, I was more impressed by the savory items than the sweets. The tea selection, including Ronnefeldt tea, was enjoyable as it was a tea-free flow. I tried all the drinks except for the Orange Pekoe iced tea. Before I knew it, it was 17:45, with only two groups left including us, as three groups had already left. We enjoyed it too much. For more details, see below. Garden Afternoon Tea "Matcha Afternoon Tea" Limited-time offer: May 16th to June 30th This is a special afternoon tea plan available only during this period. Please take this opportunity to spend a special time with your loved ones. The drink options include a new blend of Uji tea made from the finest "Gyokuro" and "Matcha" from Japan, and up to 2.5 hours to enjoy your favorite drinks, such as Ronnefeldt tea. Inspired by the elegant garden of the master gardener, 7th generation Ogawa Jihei, the "Garden Afternoon Tea" is prepared for a tranquil experience limited to five groups per day (up to four people per group). Sweets (9 types) Passion fruit mousse and white wine jelly Hojicha chocolate Matcha opera Mango tart Matcha roll cake Lemon macaron Shiratama and matcha cream sauce Matcha cream puff Coconut mousse and matcha agar Savory items (5 types) Pate and ham pickles assortment Vegetable and mozzarella mousse Bacon and cabbage quiche Tajima beef mini hamburger Cream cheese and salmon croissant sandwich Scones Plain scones (clotted cream, mango jam) Drinks New blend of Uji tea made from the finest "Gyokuro" and "Matcha" from Japan Ronnefeldt tea: 6 types (free refills for up to 2.5 hours) - Unlimited drinks - Darjeeling Summer Gold English Breakfast Golden Earl Grey Strawberry Fields Rooibos Caramel Chill Out with Herbs I was worried about the rain forecast, but it cleared up in the afternoon, so lucky me. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Oh, it was absolutely amazing! I had always wanted to go to Nanzenji Kikusui for afternoon tea, so I made it the main destination for my trip to Kyoto. The menu was perfect for summer, with lots of summer fruits like lemon, peach, lychee, and mango. What's great about this place is that they also offer savory dishes like hamburgers and quiche, which you can enjoy when you're tired of sweet treats. And the view is just stunning! I booked the plan with a guaranteed window seat through Ikyu, so I had a panoramic view of the beautiful garden right in front of me. It was such an elegant and relaxing time. At one point, I saw a group in kimonos having a meeting for a marriage arrangement, and it made me realize that this place is chosen for various special occasions. Making Nanzenji Kikusui the destination for a trip to Kyoto is definitely a great idea. Highly recommended spot! #Let's go to Kyoto #Nanzenji #Nanzenji Kikusui #Nanzenji Kikusui Afternoon Tea #Afternoon Tea #Nun Activities #Afternoon Tea Tour #Afternoon Tea Club #Want to connect with people who love afternoon tea #Kyoto #Kyoto Gourmet #Kyoto Gourmet Trip #Kyoto Gourmet Tour #Kyoto Date #Mami Log #Mami Gourmet #Want to connect with people who love gourmet #Want to connect with gourmet lovers #Nagoya Channel #Insta Gourmet #Insta Gourmet Award 2022 #Nagoreco #Ainago #FoodMe #Gourmet Media #Nago Gourmet

When in Kyoto, I love the Suikoka at Nanzen-ji♡ Located near there is Kikusui Gokan, where you can enjoy a garden just as beautiful as the building, gardens, and meals. You can enjoy a relaxing lunch in a cool and spacious atmosphere during your stroll. The Yudofu course is 5,000 yen✼ Sakizuke✼ Appetizer✼ Sashimi✼ Yudofu✼ Fried dish✼ Rice✼ Pickles✼ Soup✼ Dessert is a must-try✔ The Sakizuke bonito tataki with ponzu and grated onion✔ The appetizer includes Man'nenji chili peppers, shredded dried young sardines, Tai Kashiwa leaf sushi, seared scallop, new sweet potato, and dashimaki tamago with Kyoto vegetables✔ The sashimi is sea bass sashimi. It's refreshing when paired with shiso leaves!✔ Enjoy two types of Yudofu♡ both are excellent① Sweet soy sauce dressing, flower bonito, momiji oroshi② Yoshino kudzu, ginger, Kujo green onions✔ The fried dish is made of water eggplant, shrimp, and shiso tempura, which pairs nicely with the Yudofu✔ Rice, pickles, soup The soup, with the accent of Oyakasansho from the long-established rice shop "Hachidaime Gibei" in Kyoto, is also a hit✔ Dessert Soy milk jelly with a gentle sweetness until the end, and a generous amount of Yudofu is a hit♡ There is no need to worry about eating so much, as you can enjoy the garden view from any seat and it's a perfect place to relax! Since the lunch seats were filled even on weekdays, it is recommended to make a reservation! Afternoon tea while enjoying the garden is also famous, so I would like to challenge that next time♡

When I went to Nanzen-ji Temple with my daughter, we passed by this restaurant and thought it looked good, so we made a reservation through Ikyu Restaurant. The lunch set included a mix of Japanese and Western appetizers, a drink for a toast (I chose champagne ^_^), and the main dish was Tajima beef hamburger steak, all for 4620 yen including tax. I made a reservation for the awkward time of 1:00 PM, so unfortunately, the window seats with a good view of the garden were already being prepared for the afternoon tea starting at 2:30 PM. Champagne, sweet potato soup, and the anticipated appetizers ♡. They were all delicious, but personally, I didn't like the demi-glace sauce on the hamburger, so I left the rice (it would have been nice to have pickles with it...). I ended up full with dessert and Japanese black tea ^_^. The customers who ordered the tofu course were saying how delicious the rice was, so maybe I should have gone for the tofu course instead?

I stayed at Kikusui in Nanzen-ji, famous for its yudofu. Since breakfast was Japanese cuisine, I opted for French cuisine for dinner. The dinner had rich flavors and was delicious, but I couldn't eat much due to not being very hungry, so I left some of the fish dish uneaten. The dessert wasn't very tasty. However, the Gâteau au Chocolat by Tsujiri in the room was incredibly delicious. I felt the attention to detail in the room's sweets and drinks. For breakfast, they served yudofu and yellowtail, but perhaps my expectations were too high as it was just okay. The atmosphere is very nice, with a Kyoto-like feel, making it good for sightseeing. However, parking is difficult if you go by car.

Kikusui in the approach to Nanzenji Temple in Kyoto. I heard they offer afternoon tea, so I went to Kyoto right away. By the way, I heard they only serve 5 groups per day. You can relax while enjoying the view of the Japanese garden. There are plenty of drink options such as coffee, black tea, and Japanese tea. They offer a good balance with not only sweets like hamburgers and croissant sandwiches, but the portion size is really big! I made a reservation for 2:00 PM, skipped lunch, and was good for dinner as well with the generous amount of food. It was a luxurious experience spending time in a lovely atmosphere.

Located in Nanzen-ji Temple in Kyoto, Goryori and Kyoto Inn Kikusui. I had been wanting to visit for afternoon tea for a while, but this time I visited for dinner. We had the Kyoto Western-style dinner course with 7 dishes (including Champagne and a private room) for 11,300 yen. The menu for the beginning of autumn 2021 included: Amuse - Bonito tartare and fennel with caviar; 1st - Bamboo shoot shrimp and couscous with garden vegetables; 2nd - Sautéed foie gras with figs; 3rd - Pumpkin royale and Tasmanian salmon confit; Fish - Gratinated seasonal fish resembling a pond; Meat - French duck confit with taro and blackberry sauce; Dessert - Chestnut Mont Blanc; and baked sweets (canelé, macaron) with coffee. The room was incredibly spacious and luxurious! There was a garden right in front of us! Each dish was beautifully presented! The plating was themed around early autumn and was visually appealing. The portion sizes were just right, especially after having bread. Next time, I want to try their afternoon tea! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I went to Nanzen-ji Kikusui for afternoon tea. While enjoying the garden of Kikusui, you can have unlimited access to 10 types of high-quality teas from Ronnefeldt in Germany, Japanese tea, and coffee. My friend and I drank 9 cups in total. We enjoyed various kinds of sweets and mini burgers made with Tajima beef, savoring each dish without getting tired. It was a luxurious time where we could forget about our daily lives, as it is a set limited to 5 groups.

I finally got to go to Nanzen-ji Kikusui's afternoon tea on New Year's Eve 2020, which I had always wanted to go to. It exceeded my expectations by far! The hamburger and strawberry shortcake were exquisite. The hamburger was meaty and delicious, while the shortcake was fluffy and juicy. I also loved the cookie snowball. The garden was beautiful and enjoyable. By the way, it seems that if you go with two people, you are more likely to be seated in a spot with a better view of the garden. The variety of drinks for the all-you-can-drink option was great too! Address: 31 Fukuchicho, Nanzen-ji, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture ☎️075-771-4101

I visited Kyoto, where the autumn leaves had just started to turn, for a day trip. Perhaps due to the situation with COVID-19, it was very quiet and I was able to enjoy a leisurely time. The restaurant was absolutely lovely. The entrance had the atmosphere of a Kyoto ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant), which got me excited, and the view from inside was truly magnificent. I felt grateful to my friend who made the reservation and said, "I'm glad we came here." The seating was arranged with fewer tables, and it seemed like you could enjoy your meal while looking out at the garden in a side-by-side style. All the dishes highlighted the flavors of the ingredients and were delicious. After choosing bread, I noticed how good the rice looked and felt a little regretful, but the bread was also really tasty. I was able to relax and ended up staying quite a while. I was very satisfied.

I really wanted to go on a Kyoto trip in April (´-ω-`) but had to postpone it for a few months due to the current situation, but thanks to Goto, I was able to go at a good deal! Lucky. It's a traditional Japanese inn with a history. The atmosphere is great with a sense of history ♥ For dinner, you can choose between kaiseki cuisine and French cuisine. I chose French for my partner who loves French cuisine. I was a little worried about having French cuisine at a ryokan (I somehow had the image that they focus on Japanese cuisine), but there were no unusual dishes, just elegant and delicious French cuisine (= ^ᆺ^)♡ While looking at the illuminated red pine tree in the courtyard, I enjoyed a delicious meal and wine, feeling satisfied _(´ω`_).。:゚ From our room on the second floor, we had a direct view of the illuminated red pine tree. (I think we got a good room ♥) It was very quiet. It was a really nice time with wine in hand. My daily stress was reset. Before I knew it, I was feeling quite tipsy... (∪^ω^)< I think I might have died under a red pine tree in a past life. There's something that wells up inside me when I look at that red pine tree. Tears. My partner started saying incomprehensible things, probably drunk. Laugh (= ^ᆺ^)< Forget about it! =============== We are usually not breakfast eaters, but we tried the "Sensha" rice cooked in an earthenware pot by "Yatsudai Gibe," and this rice was extremely delicious!! (It's said to be a very famous rice shop in Kyoto with long queues!) We finished it all together and were very full. The staff provided excellent service, and we had a wonderful time ♥

I visited Kikusui on the approach to Nanzenji Temple today. It is a restaurant and inn facility located about a 10-minute walk from Keage Station in Kyoto. The restaurant has evolved to embrace the present while preserving borrowed scenery and atmosphere, alongside a vast 400-tsubo pond garden created by the famous Meiji garden designer, 7th generation Ogawa Jihei. I went there this time to have afternoon tea in the expansive garden. As I approached Kikusui, the atmosphere and scenery deepened. The interior of the restaurant also exudes a calm Japanese atmosphere. Once seated, you can enjoy the beautiful garden full of greenery visible through the glass. Personally, I'm not very interested in sightseeing, but I am interested in having tea time at tourist facilities or gardens, which aligns perfectly with my interests. I was surprised by the hamburger included in the 4500 yen afternoon tea set. It was made with Tajima beef and was incredibly juicy, with a large amount of meat juice dripping with every bite. What's even more wonderful is the herbal tea that I've recently become fond of. You can choose from about 8 types of herbal teas like grapefruit and Earl Grey, and I tried 3 types this time, each offering a delicious taste. I definitely want to come back next time to also savor Japanese cuisine. Thank you for the meal.

I went to have a lunch of Yudofu at Nanzen-ji! \(^o^\) The entrance had a luxurious feel, very nice! There seem to be various rooms like private rooms and Japanese-style rooms, but we were guided to a spacious room with a carpet where we could see the garden. We were seated by the window, so we could enjoy the pruned garden view, which created a fantastic atmosphere! I had seen on Instagram that their afternoon tea was wonderful, but since it was still cold, I really wanted to try the 5000 yen Yudofu course. Starting with the appetizer, the cod milt dish was excellent, the daikon pickles were tangy due to the vinegar, and the amberjack sashimi was deliciously seared. Here is the Yudofu. They change the condiments for it. It was so delicious! The duck meatball rice is served with the pot, and you can have seconds. Pickles and red miso soup. The rice was so delicious that I wanted to make onigiri and take it home. The dessert was sweet bean paste mochi, so delicious and made me happy~❤️ The impeccable service, delicious food, and great atmosphere truly left me completely satisfied~! \(^o^\) If you have time, come visit Princess Cinderella's blog too♪
