I don't like it when the ice melts and dilutes the drink, so I ordered it without ice. They charged me extra for the difference in quantity. They also recommended toppings, so I went with the nata de coco, which was surprisingly chopped into small pieces in abundance. The harmony of the texture between the shine muscat and nata de coco made me forget about the extra charge. It was a random place I noticed, but it was the right choice to go in.

Black sugar milk tapioca or black honey milk tapioca... I forgot the menu name... Even though many tapioca shops are closing down, this one remains open because their tapioca is incredibly delicious.

The taste is decently good. The customer service is not bad, and the staff are not rude. But why does it take so long for just one drink? It was early in the morning and there was no one in line, so why did it take 15 minutes from ordering to receiving the drink? I had 20 minutes to spare before my next appointment, but I had to hurriedly drink and leave some behind. It's a shame because the taste is good. After me, there was a line forming.

As a former young person, I thought that tapioca had long since landed and settled into a staple at Asian cafes, but then it mysteriously became a huge trend... I was amazed during the boom. A few years ago, there were long lines that I couldn't even get near, but now it has calmed down, so I took the opportunity to stop by alone. I had a less sweet, less icy, pearl-topped Alishan oolong milk tea. I like how Taiwanese drink shops seal the cup with film, making it easy to carry. The oolong milk tea is refreshing and has a nice aroma, delicious. The chewy tapioca pearls are also a favorite that I occasionally crave, although I don't want to wait in line for them. I took a moment to relax at the counter overlooking the people passing through the concourse.

The blog is easier to read because the text and photos correspond to each other. I visited a Taiwanese tea shop that I had been wanting to try for a while. I happened to come across it when I was in Tennoji, so I decided to buy something. Black Sugar Milk Roasted Kinako - Hot + Pearls + Kinako Whip - 680 yen I couldn't imagine what it would taste like, but when I tried it, it was delicious. Truly a Taiwanese drink. It was a bit pricey, but I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

This time, I will be reviewing a tea shop near Tennoji called "Tenkachaya." This is currently the most popular shop in Tennoji. It is located on the second floor of Tennoji Station, which used to be called Station Plaza but is now known as MIO. Recently, it has become MIO Kitchen, with all shops being food and beverage related. The line extends not only in front of the shop but also down the hallway. Mostly women and students wait in line. Despite the awkward looks from others, people still line up because they want to try it. It's not just a drink for women or students. After waiting for about 30 minutes, it was finally my turn to order. I decided to try the Milk Foam Oolong Tea, which cost around 400-500 yen. Upon tasting it, I found it to be refreshing. It wasn't overly sweet but rather had a refreshing and tasty flavor. I hope they didn't forget to put sugar in it. I would like to try it again, but waiting for 30 minutes is quite challenging.

I knew about the existence of the shop but I don't usually just go for drinks, so when my friend suggested going together today, I thought it was a tapioca shop but it turned out to be a Taiwanese tea shop. I had no idea about Taiwanese tea, so I asked the staff for a recommendation. They suggested the Alishan Oolong tea, so I went with that. I asked for it to be less sweet and to add milk foam on top, following my friend's lead. My friend got hers with normal sweetness, tapioca pearls, and milk foam. The drink looked beautiful with a sprinkle of matcha powder on top. The straw was thick, probably to match the size of the tapioca pearls. I tried the oolong tea part first and loved it - it had a floral aroma and a refreshing taste. The milk foam was creamy and slightly cheese-like, which I found interesting. Mixing it in changed the taste again, and it was also good. I tried a bit of my friend's tapioca drink, and I realized the tapioca pearls were sweet. It was a bit tricky to drink with the straw, so I was glad I didn't get them in mine. Overall, it was a satisfying experience to discover a new and delicious drink after a long time.

Gong Cha is so popular, right?! I've visited the Link's Umeda store about 3 times. This time, I want to share my review of this store. I didn't have to wait long to make my purchase. I ordered the classic Black Milk Tea with tapioca, in a large size to share, with normal sweetness. The milk tea is consistently delicious (^o^) and the sweetness was just right. And, I really like the tapioca here!!! I've only tried tapioca milk tea from about 3 different stores, but I really like the tapioca here (*^^*) Well, actually, tapioca from any store is delicious (^◇^;) There was a lot of tapioca in it, so I was satisfied. But tapioca milk tea does feel a bit pricey (^◇^;) It's delicious though ♡

☆ Located inside MIO Plaza on the 2nd floor of Tennoji Station or Osaka Abenobashi Station on the Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line, Gong Cha is a popular tapioca shop. I decided to stop by around 10 am on a weekday to avoid the usual crowds. Normally, the shop is packed with people on weekends, making it hard to find a seat, but this time it was empty when I arrived just after opening. I was able to purchase my drink without waiting in line. I opted for something warm and tried the Berry Berry hot smoothie for 370 yen (excluding tax). It contained four types of berries - strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, and aronia - as well as pomegranate vinegar, sweet sake, and red beans. The drink had a unique and complex flavor that I couldn't predict, but I enjoyed the creamy texture, gentle sweetness, and slight sourness. It felt like a healthy choice for a cold day. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

Visited in December 2020. While strolling around Abeno for shopping, we missed the timing for lunch and my family member wanted a snack! So we decided to visit "Gong cha," a tea specialty store originating from Taiwan. It became popular in Japan last year during the tapioca boom. The store used to have long lines on weekends, making it difficult for a lone man like me to wait in line (laughs). But recently it has become more calm and easy to buy. Since my family member loves Gong cha, we visit often. This time, we decided to have some tapioca. I usually go for the basic Black Milk Tea or Oolong Milk Tea with less sweetness. This time, I had Black Milk Tea (less sweet + tapioca). It was a generous portion of about 500ml, with large and chewy tapioca pearls. We enjoyed it at the counter seats in the food court, admiring the goddess-like sculpture. Sipped and chewed on the tapioca, enjoying its mochi-like texture. The tea, whether black or oolong, had a great aroma and taste. However, it's a bit pricey at over 500 yen per cup. If they reduced the amount a bit and made it cheaper, it would be more affordable. After finishing in about 10 minutes, I felt quite full. Now that my snack craving is satisfied, I can hold out until dinner. Thank you.

I had Gong Cha for the first time in a while. I ordered the black sugar milk oolong tea with added tapioca pearls. The tapioca pearls were small and chewy. The oolong tea was light and easy to drink. I bought it around 2 pm on a rainy weekday and didn't have to wait in line. Thank you for the meal!

My daughter wanted to drink something from Tennoji right after New Year's... Black milk tea for M\604 to go, this price! It's luxurious, isn't it? Compared to other tapioca milk teas, it has a slight bitterness, I guess? The tapioca is chewy and soft. By the way, I wonder what will happen to tapioca specialty stores after the boom is over, probably after summer. Thank you for the meal~~~

Tapioca Debut (^o^) Recently, there has been a social phenomenon with long lines in front of tapioca drink shops and food trucks, but as a foodie, I wanted to try it when things calmed down. Finally, I got the recommendation from my female coworkers and visited a shop at Mio 2F in Tennoji Station. The place has open counter seats and small tables, perfect for solo dining. I ordered a "Milk Foam Jasmine Green Tea" with pearl tapioca and basil seeds topping. The tea was refreshing with a hint of sweetness in the milk foam, and the tapioca was chewy and paired well with the tea. The red straw was cleverly designed to easily sip the tapioca along with the tea. I look forward to trying other teas next time. Thank you for the meal.

I went out with my mother for the first time in a while✨ We tried Gong Cha for the first time❗️ We lined up (*`・ω・)ゞ✨ The most popular was "Black Milk Tea + Pearls" and the limited edition "Salted Caramel + Pearls." We found a place to sit in between and enjoyed them slowly❤️ Both were delicious❗️

There was a mysterious line at Tennoji MIO, so I decided to line up out of curiosity. It was the same at Goncha in Umeda, with a long line. I lined up around 5:30 pm on a weekday, and most of the customers were high school and college girls. It's nice to be young. While waiting in line, I looked at the menu and placed my order. I think it's a great service that you can customize the sweetness and amount of ice. I was getting tired of all the overly sweet tapioca drinks, so I was grateful for this. Also, I'm not a fan of milk-based drinks, so I was happy to see a refreshing lineup. I ordered a small Honey Lemon for 370 yen (excluding tax) with tapioca topping for 70 yen (excluding tax). I waited in line to order, waited in line to pay, waited in line to receive my order... but the wait was only about 20 minutes. Despite the long line, it's a fast drink place, so the turnover is quick. There were table seats right in front of me, so I sat down and enjoyed my drink slowly. Sip. The mildly sweet drink was indeed mild as expected.

In late November, I happened to have some free time so I decided to visit Gong Cha. I prefer to keep things simple and order everything standard without customizing the flavors. I tend to think of the tea and tapioca separately, but I find that the tapioca pearls at another place are tastier. The tea itself can be adjusted in sweetness, which can change my overall opinion. I had the Black Milk Tea with Pearls in small size, costing 475 yen.

I tried Gong Cha for the first time and I'm not a big fan of tapioca, but I was curious about their milk foam which is described as creamy like cheese. The ordering process seemed a bit complicated, so I did some research beforehand. Even on a weekday afternoon, there was a long line, but the turnover seemed fast with a 15-minute wait. I ordered the Gong Cha Special, their original tea with milk foam on top. Tapioca is actually not a standard topping option. You can choose the amount of ice and syrup in your drink. I opted for less ice and no syrup to fully enjoy the milk foam. I initially wanted a black tea base, but I went with their popular green tea (similar to jasmine tea) for a more Taiwanese experience. The staff confirmed my order at the register, mentioning that it didn't include tapioca, which was fine with me. I didn't see anyone else skipping tapioca either. Finally, they sprinkled matcha powder on top before serving. The milk foam tasted like rich and slightly salty cheese, while the jasmine tea below was refreshing. Mixing them together balanced the flavors nicely. Even without added sweetness, the rich cheese tea made it feel like a dessert. Overall, it was a great experience trying Taiwanese tea. Thank you for the meal!

This is my second visit this time (^ω^) It's a shop that was opened during Mio's renewal. It's been about a year now. I thought maybe the line wouldn't be that long, but as expected, there was a long line. The high school students' tapioca boom doesn't seem to be over yet. I chuckled at my own comment about the line. I waited in a small alley-like area away from the line. A staff member came to take my order, so I waited. It's amazing. Do high school students memorize the menu, or do they talk about additional menu items without even looking at the menu? I was surprised while ordering lol. This time, I visited with a baby stroller. After ordering and paying at the register, I didn't have to line up in the queue. A staff member came to ask for my number and brought my drink. Wowww, this kind of consideration is wonderful!!! I sometimes think to myself that I shouldn't come with a baby stroller, but it feels like they are saying it's okay for me to come. Thank you ❤️ I've been drinking supermarket tapioca drinks a lot lately, so I was impressed by the delicious, chewy tapioca with plenty of it! I added black milk tea tapioca. Yeah, I'm not sure about the details lol. I wonder how high school students customize their drinks... Tapioca that makes you want to drink it over and over again ❤️ Next time, I'll learn from Instagram ❤️

This place has many shared seats on the floor, so it's okay even if it's a bit crowded. The different sizes of toppings mix together for a good texture. Ali Mountain Oolong Milk Tea with pearls (tapioca), aloe, basil seeds, Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea Smoothie, Pineapple Cake, Mango Cake.

I have been here a few times but this is my first review, haha. There is also one in Umeda, but the one in Tennoji is on the 2nd floor of Mio, indoors, so it's nice that even when it's crowded, it's comfortable. When there is a long line, it extends in front of other restaurants and the aisle gets narrow, it can get pretty crazy! But today, I went around 12 pm on a weekday and surprisingly, there were only about 5 people in line ahead of me! Lucky me, so I quickly got in line. Gong Cha is a place where you can choose various options yourself. First, the type of tea, then the size, the amount of ice, the sweetness level, and even the toppings are your choice! Of course, they also recommend toppings and popular flavors for beginners. There are many types of tea, so the combination possibilities are quite extensive. The staff were polite and explained everything clearly, even though it was busy. I ordered a large size of Oolong tea with less ice, sweetness level 0, and tapioca topping. The tapioca itself is sweet, so sweetness level 0 was enough. The tapioca was chewy and delicious! I was advised to go for less ice by the staff, and they were right - it was still cold and tasty. The large size is quite a lot, but the tea here is so delicious that I could drink it all. Many people also order just the tea without tapioca. Tapioca is a big trend right now, and there are many tapioca shops. The texture and sweetness of tapioca can vary greatly from shop to shop, so I would love to try different tapioca places. Gong Cha had the perfect sweetness and chewiness for me. And most importantly, the tea was delicious! The staff were friendly and it was a pleasant experience. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!
