It's been a while since I went shopping with mato in Nakashibetsu. We planned to have soba for lunch, but the soba shop we wanted to go to was already full and there was a line even though it was just a little past 11 o'clock =͟͟͞͞(꒪ỏ꒪). So we ended up going to the Fukuzumi Nakashibetsu store. It was 30 degrees Celsius in Nakashibetsu that day. It was so hot (*﹏*๑) It wasn't cool even when we went to Tobu, and Fukuzumi wasn't cool either... How can anyone have an appetite in this heat? So I ordered the pork cutlet bowl set, and mato ordered the tempura bowl set. It's a shame they didn't have the curry cutlet set ( •́ㅿ•̀ ) The set included a bowl, hot soba, cold soba, and two small side dishes. I preferred the cold soba today because it was so hot. I started with the hot soba. It had decent firmness but didn't have much buckwheat flavor since it was more like Somen noodles. The soba sauce was on the salty side. The cold soba had really long noodles... too long to lift up with chopsticks, so I had to keep dipping it in the sauce. It was too salty (ㆆ_ㆆ). The pork cutlet bowl had three pieces of tender and well-seasoned pork cutlet. It was tasty, but a bit too saucy. I was full by the end of the meal.

Around 4:00 PM, I entered from Kushiro to Nakashibetsu. There was an old soba restaurant at the entrance. I had visited it 20 years ago. It hasn't changed. I ordered the Mori Soba in a large serving. There was no one else besides us as customers. The spacious interior of the restaurant felt cold. Soon the food was served. The soba was in a small steamer in a large serving, with white noodles. Every time I picked up the soba, it would flow out of the steamer. I think a slightly larger steamer would be better. And the large serving had more volume than I had expected. Was Fukuzumi always this generous with the portions? I finally finished eating. Thank you for the meal.

I am on a business trip in Eastern Hokkaido. After finishing work, I was taken here by the company president. I have seen Sapporo before, but I have never been inside this place. I am quite hungry, so I ordered the pork cutlet rice bowl set. It arrived in about 10 minutes. Huh? There are two types of soba noodles, cold and hot? I wasn't asked if I wanted cold or hot, but I didn't need the hot one. Maybe it's good to be able to taste both at once... Let's dig in. The soba noodles are more like a thin noodle, with a weak soba flavor. However, they seem to be overcooked. The soba broth has an overwhelming bonito flavor, making the soba noodles almost tasteless. Lastly, I had the soba broth, which was surprisingly clear. It tasted like plain water, even when mixed with the broth. Overall, it was disappointing. The hot soba noodles were the same. The pork cutlet rice bowl had a traditional salty flavor. The pork was a bit tough, but still acceptable. Other ingredients included shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and green onions, which were also traditional. Considering the high price, I don't think I would come back here. Thank you for the meal.

Tempura Soba - Sobadokoro Fukuzumi, Hokkaido Various areas in Hokkaido are covered in snow. We often hear words like below freezing in the weather forecast. On such cold days, hot tempura soba is recommended. Today, I had "Tempura Soba" at Fukuzumi in Nakashibetsu-cho. The large bowl was filled with two big shrimp tempura that reached from one end to the other, giving off a powerful presence. Contrary to the impact of the shrimp tempura, the soba was made with refined buckwheat flour, creating a clean taste. The broth was made with a strong bonito stock, without any unnecessary ingredients, truly embodying the taste of a soba restaurant. The soy sauce paired perfectly with it, and when mixed with the oil seeping from the tempura batter, it became the epitome of soba. Despite thinking "I might not be able to finish it," before I knew it, I had finished every last drop of the broth. Thank you for the meal. I stopped by for lunch during a business trip to Shikotsu. The restaurant had a mysterious vibe that never made me want to go in, despite passing by many times in the past. The dimly lit interior was quite spacious. There was one person in the dining area, and 5-6 people in the kitchen. The menu was extensive. Feeling hungry from work, I decided to go for a set menu. I had smelled curry while working earlier, so I chose the curry set. I hadn't specified the temperature of the soba when ordering the set, and we joked that maybe they would bring both hot and cold. And they actually did. The set included zaru soba, kake soba, and half a curry. The soba alone was quite filling. It wasn't anything special, but it did the job of satisfying my hunger. The curry lacked depth and tasted like something I had eaten at home when I was a child. I heard that the main store is in Shikotsu town, so I would like to visit it someday.

There is a soba restaurant in Nakashibetsu that seems to be a chain as I have seen the same name around the area while driving. The restaurant is conveniently located at an intersection with a traffic light, making it easy to access. During lunchtime, I went with a colleague to have soba. My colleague ordered tempura soba, while I chose natto soba. The menu is extensive, with a wide variety of soba and also delicious rice bowl dishes. Personally, I often order natto soba at various restaurants, and the natto soba here is quite tasty. I look forward to trying a different menu item next time!
