My daughter loves kimchi, so I have recently been experimenting with fermented foods by mixing it with natto. I also bought some celery kimchi, which is rare. It tastes delicious but not spicy. Even the regular kimchi I tried wasn't spicy. My daughter and I added some shichimi spice to it and enjoyed it. I talked about this with the owner of a Korean restaurant next to us, and he said that they probably make it milder for Japanese customers. They also offer takeout options like chijimi and yangnyeom chicken, which seem to be popular among customers.

I went to YokoYama Shoten in Yakuin Rokkaku in search of delicious Gochujang. When I entered, there was a showcase in the middle with lots of kimchi lined up. It looked so appealing that I wanted to try a variety of them. I bought Gochujang, which was indeed very sweet. It seems that in Korean cuisine, they often use corn syrup to add glossiness. The initial sweetness is certainly like that. It's not very salty, so it could also be a good snack. The seaweed kimchi was interesting and delicious! The water kimchi tasted like radish soaked in garlic-infused water, but the crunchy texture of the radish was nice. Each item is packed separately, making it easy to purchase, and they are further wrapped in plastic inside the container for easy transport. I would like to stop by again to buy snacks occasionally. Thank you for the meal.

When you go to Fukuoka, you will inevitably pass through the six corners of Yakuin. At one of those corners is Yokoyama Shoten. As a kimchi lover, I was curious about it. Since it has gotten cold, I decided to buy some to carry around. Inside the store, there are various types of kimchi packed in small packets. I bought the simplest one, white cabbage kimchi (small size for 300 yen), and also the celery kimchi that I love. The celery kimchi didn't have much spiciness, but it had a distinct celery flavor. The prices are reasonable, so it's a shop you can easily stop by on your way back. They also had oyster kimchi, which I would like to try next time.

I noticed a Korean restaurant opened at Rakuza in Yakuin, but I thought it was a bit outdated so I ignored it assuming it was a chain store. Honestly, I thought the English letters said "yokohama." But one day while waiting at a traffic light, I took a closer look and realized... huh? yokoyamasyoten... yokoyamashouten? "Yokoyama Shouten" reminds me of the famous old kimchi store that used to be in Chiyoshou. I went there recently, but it was closed. (Actually, they moved nearby.) But to see that store in the middle of the city! It's like my childhood friend Jyarinko suddenly grew up and became beautiful. Well, never mind. I bought Kimbap (500 yen) and tomato kimchi (400 yen). Delicious.

Yannyeom Chicken Bento ¥1,500
Cut Napa Cabbage Kimchi ¥430
The kimchi here is delicious! It has a mild spiciness but the perfect tanginess from fermentation, bringing out a rich umami flavor. The Yannyeom Chicken Bento is a bit pricey but everything is delicious here. I especially enjoyed the pickled rapeseed flowers and the chijimi. Thank you for the meal!

■Overall Review
I found this shop while exploring the area around Yakuin. Kimchi is something I crave at regular intervals, so I ended up buying some. It may be a bit pricey, but it's worth it because it's packed full of flavor. Not only here, but it seems like they also sell it at Halodei in Papion and Bonlapos.
■Napa Cabbage Kimchi
I've only been to Korea (Busan) once, but I found Korean kimchi surprisingly easy to eat. So, I'm not really sure if it's more Japanese-style or Korean-style, but I feel like Japanese kimchi leans more towards Korean kimchi. This kimchi was also easy to eat, and I wanted it to last about a week, but ended up finishing it in just a few days. That's how delicious it was. Thank you for the meal.

I have visited this shop several times, but this seems to be my first review. I have tried Kimbap at various shops, but this one is my favorite!! The balance of salt, vinegar, and the taste of pickled radish, etc... This Kimbap is 550 yen and it's the best. I also bought a bento box for 1,080 yen and everything was delicious! It contained chijimi, yamnyom chicken, bean sprout namul, kimchi, kakuteki, and burdock kimchi? (which was delicious!) The sour and spicy radish kimchi (vinegar namul for 300 yen) is addictive. The prices are reasonable and I'm happy. I also like the sesame kimchi (550 yen) and the napa cabbage kimchi (650 yen). I used to prefer the kimchi from Tehi-chan Kimchi in Miyake, Minami Ward, but it's gone now and I'm sad... Everything was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I happened to pass by and decided to go in. There was a wide variety of Korean dishes. It was full of appetizers. I bought the squid kimchi and it was delicious! It had just the right amount of spiciness. It was enough for three people to finish everything. The takeout second party was a great success!

I saw a famous editor's Instagram and decided to try delivery. It's a bit more expensive than buying in-store, but it was still during the state of emergency. The most popular menu is the Yangnyeom Chicken Bento for ¥1460. It includes Yangnyeom Chicken, Squid Jeon, Kimbap, Kimchi, Namul, fried food, grilled food, rice, and vegetables, making it a well-balanced and filling meal. The Yangnyeom Chicken has a bold flavor with the gochujang sauce. The addition of Squid Jeon adds value with its texture and taste. The handmade Kimbap also adds value with its unique touch. The presentation is beautiful and the dish was very satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered this through UberEats because I didn't feel like cooking or going out to buy food. It came with kimbap, chijimi, yangnyeom chicken, kimchi, and namul. Each item had a small portion, so I was able to enjoy a variety of dishes. It was delicious.

I bought a takeout bento and kimchi. It was said to be a kimchi with special attention, but it was too salty. It seemed like a kimchi that Japanese people would like, with a sweet and spicy taste. The saltiness was too strong for me. I had high expectations because I heard good reviews and that it was delicious.
