I visited the all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu restaurant "Shabuha" in Sakai City, Kita-ku. It was the day of my annual cancer screening, so I had the day off from work. I had to fast from 10 pm the night before the screening, so I went to the screening in the morning without even drinking coffee. After about 2 hours, the screening was done, and I could finally eat something. I was looking for a good restaurant nearby to satisfy my hunger, but there weren't many options. So, I decided to take the train to a restaurant where I could eat to my heart's content, and I chose Shabuha. It was still before noon, so the restaurant was not crowded. I have been to Shabuha a few times before, but this time was on a weekday, so the prices were lower than on weekends. As an Osaka native, I usually prefer pork shabu-shabu over beef, and Shabuha offers both options. Since the weekday prices were already lower, I decided to try the Three-Element Pork Course, which includes pork shoulder and pork belly for 1399 yen. The restaurant provides the meat and broth, but other items like vegetables, condiments, and sauces are self-service. I only took ponzu sauce, green onions, and grated daikon to my table to focus on the meat. I started with the pork belly, then moved on to the pork shoulder and chicken thigh. The pork belly was rich and sweet, and I enjoyed it with the ponzu sauce and grated daikon. I had multiple servings of the pork belly and shoulder, and also tried the curry udon. I also had some chocolate sauce and crushed chocolate, followed by a soft serve ice cream and shaved ice. However, I started feeling full and couldn't eat more meat, so I ended my meal with the dessert. Despite skipping breakfast, I couldn't eat as much meat as I had expected.
