This is a chicken soba restaurant operated by Hakata Hanamidori. I found it while exploring Hankyu Umeda with my 2-year-old daughter looking for a place we could use. The restaurant has counter seats, table seats, and box seats, and children's chairs were also available. We used a box seat with a children's chair. We ordered the Hakata Chicken Soba Kanamidori Meal (1550 yen) which comes with a choice of 3 types of chicken soba, a side dish, a mini oyakodon, the famous agodashi karaage, and dessert. I chose the Hanamidori Mizudaki Chicken Soba. It was ready in about 5 minutes after ordering. The chicken soba had thin noodles that were easy to eat even for small children. The soup was light with a chicken broth base, but not too strong in flavor. It included cabbage, green onions, red onions, menma, naruto, chicken meatballs, and chashu as toppings. Each ingredient did not leave a strong impression in terms of taste. The oyakodon had a soft-boiled egg with broth and egg soaked into the rice. The chicken was cut slightly smaller, perhaps due to the mini size of the oyakodon. The broth was slightly strong, and the taste was like a regular oyakodon. The side dish was a vegetable salad. The agodashi karaage had a thick coating, was greasy, and the meat was chewy, making it difficult to tear apart. The dessert seemed to be almond jelly, but it was too watery and felt more like a drink. Overall, the taste of everything was below expectations, the portion was small for the price, and in terms of quality, the cost performance was not good. I thought it was nice that it was child-friendly, but unfortunately, I do not plan to visit again.
