I purchased some traditional Japanese sweets from a shop at a limited-time event. I bought red bean daifuku, sweet potato daifuku, and grass mochi for myself. The total price was around 800 yen for all three, which I think is quite reasonable. The skin of the sweets is soft, and the overall taste is similar for all of them. The red bean daifuku has a thick and chewy skin with a simple taste, not too heavy. There is a generous amount of sweet red bean paste inside, but the sweetness is mild and not overpowering. The sweet potato daifuku also has a chewy skin with a lightly sweet paste inside and a subtle aroma. The grass mochi has a thick skin and a lightly sweet paste as well. Overall, all three sweets have a similar taste profile, which may make them a bit monotonous and easy to get tired of.

On September 8th, the movie directed by YOSHIKI was released, but it was overshadowed by the arrival of Typhoon 13 (*_*). Despite it being a regular weekday, I dashed to Roppongi after school at 4 o'clock with my child to watch the movie. I returned home at night and had to go to work the next day, so I had to endure it. I planned to go during school and work hours, but due to the weather conditions, the school might be closed early, or I might be asked to pick up my child early depending on the situation. Since I could get a sign if I arrived early, I went to the movie theater the day before to get a flyer, but I wasn't sure if I could make it due to the typhoon affecting the school schedule. I asked if I could bring my child or come at night depending on the situation, but I was told that changes would be made within 2 days, and there was a possibility of cancellation, so I should secure the necessary number of tickets when I could. I was secretly excited to go. My husband said I should go on a Saturday because I might not be able to contact him during the movie, and if the trains stopped, I would be stranded. But if the sign ran out, I would be disappointed. However, I couldn't figure out my work schedule either, so it was frustrating. I ended up sending my child to school and work, tidying up, setting my phone to silent, and contemplating whether to take a nap around 9 o'clock while staring at the sky and checking the weather forecast while doing housework. Huh? Did the rain weaken? Is it temporary? I packed an umbrella in my backpack just in case and felt like God was telling me to go out. The rain started to weaken, and the classes proceeded as usual. On the way back, if the rain got heavier, the staff would monitor us, and I received a message saying that. I thought, "Wow, God is really there." Then I bought a movie ticket, had a quick lunch, and went to the limited-time shop that had caught my eye, where I tried the Japanese sweets I had been curious about. It was not as sweet as I expected, with red bean paste and soybean flour. It's apparently popular in Kyushu. I wanted to take my time and choose some snacks, but I hadn't returned home yet, and it was getting late, so I hurriedly left. The Mont Blanc was unexpectedly lacking in chestnut flavor, different from what I expected, but the sweet potato ohagi and the sweet potato were delicious. I told my friends about the situation and said it would be great if I could go. Did you end up watching the movie in the end? They asked me, and I was moved by the movie, reflecting on my own life, and shedding tears of joy, realizing that it was a good day after all. (●´ϖ`●)

I purchased the "Spicy Sweet Potato Mochi" at the temporary station shop of the confectionery shop "Ikkyu" in Osaka Umeda. I was drawn in by the display that looked so delicious. Mixing steamed sweet potatoes and mochi rice, wrapping them with sweet bean paste and sprinkling yellow powder on top - it's definitely going to be delicious!

I happened to purchase for the first time because there was a stall set up. The staff was friendly and even showed me how to enjoy the delicious mitarashi dango. I bought the classic items - karaimo mochi, mitarashi dango, and strawberry daifuku. They were all incredibly delicious, and I finished them in no time. When you eat them, you'll understand. There's no strange seasoning, just truly delicious traditional Japanese sweets. I was really impressed. I would love to buy these items again if I have the chance!

After lunch, there was a pop-up store at the usual spot in Nishiarai Station. Today's theme was traditional Japanese sweets. The "Karaimo Mochi" caught my eye, a specialty from Kyushu, Miyazaki area. It was a type of mochi I had never tried before. I asked the staff about it, and they explained that it was more like ohagi than regular mochi. Intrigued, I bought a pack of 3 Karaimo Mochi and 3 larger-sized mitarashi dango for 1000 yen. I enjoyed them at home, and indeed, the Karaimo Mochi had a texture and taste similar to ohagi. However, what really stood out was the kinako (roasted soybean flour) from this store. It had a rich aroma and great quality. The mitarashi dango was also well-made, with a perfect balance of softness and firmness, and the soy sauce sweet topping was delicious without being too overpowering. The male staff member was very polite and gave clear explanations. They will be at Nishiarai Station for the rest of the week. I might go back for another visit!

My wife bought me a spicy mochi for 189 yen and a strawberry daifuku for 378 yen as a snack. I tried the strawberry daifuku with salt flavor. The salt taste is a bit strong. I also had a bite of the spicy mochi, but the taste of the sweet potato was not that strong, it was rather mild.

Gold Kiwi Gelato from Kyuuri Gelato, Saga Prefecture The acidity and sweetness of the gelato were lacking... If I had to say, there was a slight acidity that tickled the throat... It would be more delicious to just eat a Gold Kiwi fruit as it is. I didn't see the point of eating it as gelato.

Guided by a rushing OL, I found myself lining up before I knew it (laughs). Even in times like these, it's nice to be able to taste before buying. It was my first time at this shop, so tasting is important. I couldn't resist and ended up buying some. There are many different types of strawberry daifuku, which is nice. If I had to ask for more, I would love it if they had white bean paste too. The mochi is dense and the sweetness is subtle, so I ended up eating it all in one go. It seems that various limited-time shops will be opening in different places from now on. Check it out at https://q-sweets.co.jp/store/

I purchased these items at a event booth at Atre Akihabara. The spicy sweet potato mochi, a traditional dish from southern Kyushu made with sweet potatoes and glutinous rice, was delicious and rightfully popular. The salted bean daifuku had the perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness.

There was a small temporary shop set up near the station ticket gate, and this shop was selling a product called "spicy sweet potato mochi" for 189 yen each. It seemed like the mochi had sweet potato mixed into the dough with red bean paste inside. The texture of the sweet potato was present, and it had a sweet taste similar to sweet potatoes. The mochi had a chewy and sticky texture with red bean paste inside, but the presence of the sweet potato texture and sweetness made the red bean paste a bit subtle. Overall, it was a delicious product, similar to the taste of sweet potato.

I purchased the "Sp sweets box", which sells sweets from all over the country on a weekly basis at an event. I bought the "Spicy Sweet Potato Mochi 3 pieces" for 540 yen (including 8% tax). Even though it is from a shop in Osaka, they were selling spicy sweet potato mochi from Kyushu for some reason. It's a mochi with sweet potato filling wrapped in it, topped with plenty of kinako (roasted soybean flour). The fragrant kinako is delicious. It has just the right amount of sweetness, and I love the taste.
