I found a very appealing restaurant on Google Maps that seemed like the kind of place guys would like, serving hearty meals. The restaurant is called "Chuka Ryori Shanghai" and is located inside the Osaka Central Wholesale Market. It caters to people working in the market, opening from the early hours of the morning at around 3 am. I decided to visit in the morning around 8 am and found that the customers were mostly workers or suppliers from the market. The restaurant was about half full at that time. I ordered a beer and some gyoza, as they are a perfect match. The restaurant had a variety of dishes on the menu, including noodles, fried rice, stir-fries, and set meals. However, the most popular dish, which I had seen in a Google Maps review, was not listed on the menu. It was a special dish called "Tenyame," which is a type of Tianjin fried rice. I decided to order it by describing it as "fried rice with Tianjin fried rice on top," and the staff understood my request. The dish was delicious, with eggs, shrimp, and carrots in the Tianjin fried rice, and plenty of ingredients in the fried rice underneath. It was filling and satisfying, and I didn't feel hungry until later in the afternoon. Overall, it was a great start to the day, and I would have loved it even more if I could have enjoyed a Kirin or Sapporo beer while smoking.

The other day's lunch was at a restaurant called Shanghai located inside Osaka Central Wholesale Market. I chose the cold Chinese noodles set meal. It's right next to the popular sushi restaurant "Endo" that attracts a lot of tourists, but there's no line here. (laughs) However, during lunchtime, the counter seats get filled up, so it's quite a popular place. Today, while pondering over what to order, I saw a sign for cold noodles and decided to go for it. I found out that they also offer a set meal with half fried rice, so I chose the cold noodles set meal. The clientele inside the restaurant is quite diverse, including people from the market, nearby office workers, and taxi drivers. Everyone seems to know good places to eat! The dish arrived in about 15 minutes. The cold noodles here are served in a bowl. The chilled noodles go well with the soy sauce dressing. The fried rice is lightly seasoned, so when you eat it with the soy sauce and cold noodles, it's the perfect summer Chinese dish! I left feeling full and satisfied! The cold noodles alone cost 850 yen, and with half fried rice, it's 1,250 yen. Considering the cost of chilling the noodles, it's a reasonable price. Just like the electricity bill in summer, cooling things down can be costly. Thank you for the meal!

There is a menu on one wall! I chose the "C lunch" for ¥920!! Instead of liver and leeks, it had meat and leeks! Plump small shrimp tempura! Along with rolled omelette, cabbage, soup, and rice! The rice portion was quite generous, and I left feeling very satisfied!! When in doubt, go for the local Chinese restaurant! lol Thank you for the feast!

Lately, I've been having breakfast at a Chinese restaurant in the central wholesale market. I want to avoid greasy food in the morning, but still want something hearty. I ordered the grilled meat set meal. It comes with a bit of vegetables, which is just right. Ah, it was delicious.

In Osaka, located in the Fukushima Central Market, this restaurant is situated two doors down from the famous "Endo" restaurant. I visited around 11:30 am. The hustle and bustle of the market had died down by that time, and the atmosphere inside was quiet. This place seems to be where people who have finished their work in the market stop by on their way home. There were even customers wearing boots. The interior of the restaurant has a TV and a red Chinese-style counter with only 12 seats. The menu is written on strips of paper on the wall, featuring a variety of noodle dishes and side dishes. I came here for the Champon noodles. The Nagasaki Champon was priced at 770 yen, and the fried rice at 550 yen if I remember correctly. I never expected to find Nagasaki Champon at a restaurant named "Shanghai". First, the fried rice arrived. It had a classic taste of Chinese-style fried rice. Then came the Nagasaki Champon. The soup was clear, unlike the typical milky broth from simmering. It had a light and flavorful broth with plenty of vegetables. It was simply delicious. Thank you for the meal.

For breakfast, I went to a Chinese restaurant in the Central Wholesale Market. The customers there are mainly workers from the market, not tourists. Next to it is a famous sushi restaurant for tourists. I had a hearty breakfast of Tianjin fried rice and ramen set. It was so delicious.

Recently, I have been looking for breakfast on my way from home to work. I had forgotten, but there are shops open in the Central Wholesale Market from the morning. I was hungry, so I had a hearty Chinese meal for breakfast. I ordered the B set with stir-fried vegetables, sweet and sour pork, and rolled omelette. There are many ¥920 menu options, so I can keep coming back without getting tired of it. It was so delicious in the morning.

☆ Shanghai ☆ ✨✨✨✨ A Chinese restaurant after a sushi binge!! So many set meals to choose from, it's quite a dilemma *̣̩⋆̩ Well, the dumplings are a must-try, so we started with dumplings. I chose champon for ramen, yakisoba, and takana fried rice~~~ The dumplings have a nice garlic flavor that I love... The champon ramen is surprisingly rich and the Chinese noodles are perfect!... The yakisoba is unexpectedly delicious, why is Chinese restaurant yakisoba so good (laughs) The takana fried rice was a perfect way to finish the meal! The prices are affordable and the cost performance is excellent! Last order is around 1:30 pm for lunch.

"Shanghai" is a Chinese restaurant located in the Osaka Central Wholesale Market, known as the "Kitchen of Naniwa," with a reputation for being hard for the general public to access. The restaurant is about a 13-minute walk from Noda Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line. You can find it by turning right at the intersection in front of the market and heading into the market, where it is located directly below the south slope leading to the third floor (vegetable wholesale area). The interior of the restaurant consists of counter seats only, with a nostalgic atmosphere created by the rows of menu strips. While not flashy, the restaurant is highly regarded and loved by those working in the market. The unique taste and wide variety of menu items offered by the owner, who does not stick to a specific genre, make the restaurant appealing to a wide range of customers. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable. Be cautious when ordering the extra-large rice, as it comes in a huge portion like something out of a manga. Some may find dining in a market setting intimidating at first, but once you get used to it, you'll find that this restaurant is a great value and very convenient. There is also a parking lot in front of the restaurant. While they open early in the morning, why not try challenging them for lunch first? Bon appétit! \(^o^)/"

We had a lunch at a restaurant called "Shanghai-san" for a food fight event with new employees! The catchphrase "Cheap and Generous!" fits this place perfectly. We ordered the Young Set which includes fried chicken, dumplings, rolled omelette, fried rice, and in addition, we also ordered stir-fried leeks with liver and mapo tofu. The lady serving us had a surprised reaction. Bring it on! The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and the portion size was amazing. Especially noteworthy was the thickness of the mapo tofu, probably due to excessive starch. It was a sesame oil and chili-based mapo tofu. We forgot to take a picture of the fried rice from the Young Set, but it was definitely a portion for 1.5 people, not a mini portion. We enjoyed a luxurious feast of various dishes and managed to finish everything. If you're craving a generous serving of Chinese food, this is the place to go. Thank you for the meal!

When you order the extra-large portion of rice (+100 yen), you get a generous serving just like in the old days.
