The price is 500 yen, but what you get is a pastry shaped like a 10 yen coin. It feels like a bit of a rip-off... Basically, it contains stretchy cheese (mozzarella cheese) inside, with a slightly sweet baked dough on the outside (similar to a lightly flavored imagawayaki) and is a little over 10 centimeters in diameter. There is a food ticket vending machine in the Don Quijote in Shibuya, where you first purchase a food ticket. I heard that there were custard cream, matcha custard, red bean, and chocolate flavors before, but now it's only cheese flavor. Well, even if there were other flavors, I think most people would choose cheese. It's best to eat it while it's hot, so I debated whether to eat it on the go, but I thought it wouldn't be appropriate for a middle-aged man to eat on the go in Shibuya Center Street, so I decided to eat it at the back entrance of Don Quijote. When I went to the back entrance, there were a few other people who had the same idea. I thought we might bond over this, but instead, we all ate with our backs turned to each other, feeling a bit alienated. Hmm, I wish they had thought of a better place to eat. Now, onto the main point, the 10 yen pastry. When I took a big bite, the stretchy cheese stuck to my mouth and it was embarrassing. Well, it's definitely a snack for young people. But, the taste is actually pretty good. I kept eating it quickly while it was hot, but halfway through, I realized that my throat was getting dry and it was a bit tough to swallow... I wondered what would go well with it, and I thought, coffee would be perfect. But, I couldn't exactly walk into a coffee shop with this 10 yen pastry. So, I bought a can of hot coffee from a nearby vending machine to wash it down... It was a somewhat lonely sight, even for myself.
