The atmosphere inside the restaurant is casual and somewhat calming, with dim lighting and a vibe similar to an izakaya. The owner is very friendly and engaging, making me think they have a lot of repeat customers. I ordered the kushikatsu lunch set, which came with white rice and miso soup with free refills. The large asparagus, cheese, and recommended kombu roll were delicious!

I walked in a zigzag manner from Shinsaibashi Station to Tsutenkaku and entered a shop that caught my eye! Let's eat to our heart's content! I skipped breakfast and lunch to prepare for this food adventure. I arrived in Osaka around 1 pm! After wandering around Umeda, I moved to Shinsaibashi! Since I had never been to Tsutenkaku, I decided to walk there as a form of exercise! I walked in a zigzag pattern, and encountered some deep and dangerous-smelling places, muttering to myself loudly and excitedly! I checked my phone for interesting shops along the way. I passed by a street lined with maid girls on both sides, but no one called out to me, so I made a U-turn. It seems that otaku are popular here. Eventually, I arrived at Tsutenkaku after about 2 hours of zigzagging. The shop that caught my eye was "Creative Tempura Ayaka." I purposely avoided famous and chain restaurants, as I find individual shops more interesting. The shop opened at 5 pm, and I arrived a little early, so I waited a bit further away. The master-like person outside the shop was cleaning, so I asked, "Excuse me! I didn't make a reservation and I'm alone, is it okay?" He greeted me with an angelic smile and said, "It's okay! Please come in!" I decided to go with the 5,000 yen course with 15 skewers. The salad and appetizer arrived, and I finally experienced Osaka's tempura for the first time. The oil was light, and the tempura was crispy. The shrimp was firm and delicious! Since it was creative tempura, each skewer was well thought out and delicious, with a variety of textures to enjoy. Before heading to the restaurant I had a reservation at for 6 pm, I couldn't resist and devoured the delicious tempura. I was surprised that I didn't feel bloated afterwards! They must be using quality ingredients and oil. It was incredibly delicious! Thank you for the meal!

The course includes: - Smoked octopus and salmon - Mushroom pate - Homemade changja All of them were delicious, especially the changja seems to be a specialty. The salad is all-you-can-eat, but I was too focused on the skewers to get seconds. The skewers include: - Local chicken with anchovy - Small shrimp and shiso roll - Shiitake with tartar sauce - Kombu with sea urchin sauce (a specialty of the restaurant) - Wagyu beef - Eel with celery - Matsutake mushroom - Pacific saury with plum and grated ponzu - Daikon radish in bouillon - Scallop with ponzu jelly - Asparagus - Angel shrimp Each skewer was made with high-quality ingredients and had a creative touch, making them all outstanding. The restaurant had counter seats and table seats, with the tables separated by curtains. I could enjoy my meal without being bothered by the surroundings. I ordered the "Iroha" course, which included 3 appetizers, all-you-can-eat salad, 10 types of skewers, rice with tea poured over it, and dessert. The skewers here were fried in high-quality oil, resulting in a crispy and fluffy texture. They were served with two types of salt and two types of sauce, making them delicious.

I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday, accompanied by a colleague. The food, which was similar to kushikatsu but more like kushiage, had a creative twist to it. The day before the end of the year, I was suddenly appointed as the organizer of the party. I searched on Tabelog to choose a restaurant, but every place was fully booked and I couldn't make a reservation. The food was great, the atmosphere was nice, and the staff were friendly. As we drank more, I ended up drinking too much. Everyone enjoyed the experience, and as the organizer, I was very happy. I visited the creative tempura skewer restaurant SAIKA in Ura Namba. They are known for their specialty dish called "Komochi Konbu Uni Sauce," which caught my interest with its unique name. I tried the SAIKA course for 3500 yen, which included 3 appetizers, all-you-can-eat salad, around 10 tempura skewers, rice dishes, and dessert. It offers great value for money. On this day, my wife, daughter, mother-in-law, and I came to the restaurant "Ayaka" with four people! I made a phone reservation the day before. This is our fourth visit to this place. The salad is all-you-can-eat, which is great for salad lovers. The skewers from the course kept coming... I ordered asparagus as an additional item, but the part without batter was brought out by the staff holding it with their hands. Normally, that part should be wrapped in aluminum foil or if it's not on a skewer, it should be served with chopsticks, right? Even though I'm not very particular, I thought that was a bit much. That was the only disappointing part here.

So, I decided to visit the shop without any prior planning. However, they only offered a course menu. It was a course of 10 skewers served on a unique wooden plate-like stand. The skewers included delicacies like shirako and other rare items. Each skewer had various flavors, so there was no need for heavy sauces, making it a refined kushikatsu experience. It turned out to be a good match with wine. Despite planning for a quick visit, it ended up taking about an hour. The restaurant was bustling with customers, mostly couples. Iroha in Nihonbashi, Osaka City, Chuo Ward, 1-20-12.

They have a wide variety of drinks including red and white wine, sparkling wine, umeshu, shochu, sake, and non-alcoholic options. They serve the kushikatsu based on your pace of eating. The prices are reasonable. It seems to get crowded early, so it's a good idea to make a reservation or call ahead to check for available times. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from Namba station and easy to find as it's on the corner of the street. I will definitely be going back.
