Blend of peonies from Urusu, Hokkaido with early harvest buckwheat from Kamikawa. There is a secret that captivates the customers when they are drunk. The square cut noodles have a slight diagonal cut, giving a unique smoothness to the throat after slurping. The popular dish "Kuro Mugi" with plenty of seaweed topping fills up the stomach, making "Seiro" the perfect choice for a drinker. Known for its excellent lunch menu, dinner time is reserved for those with reservations only, showing its reputation as a safe and wholesome soba restaurant. The routine service by the Hokkaido University part-time staff, similar to Harunosuke, adds to the sense of security. The soba served by the owner, while sometimes having room for improvement, brings a refreshing feeling after drinking. A place where the curtain is not raised on days when the quality is not up to par, providing a hint to keep coming back. Unchanging exquisite dishes, such as the flavorful dashi konjac. The deadly soba and sake a la carte menu was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Last night, there was a somewhat confusing PV. I wonder why it was scheduled for Sunday at 8:00 PM? Although it was still bright at the local time, it was good that we finished and were able to return home on the same day. Today, I checked for a nearby place with a late opening time. It's a restaurant or cafe located 3 minutes on foot from the north exit of Sapporo Station's west concourse. The place I visited opened slightly before 11:30 AM. The building is a bit unusual, with a condominium above, a dental clinic on the second floor, and a restaurant or cafe below. The atmosphere inside, with jazz playing in the background, feels more like a stylish restaurant or cafe than a typical soba noodle shop. I ordered the "Mini Tempura Rice Bowl and Soba Set for 1,000 yen" from the three lunch set options and a 150 yen iced tea. The interior is mainly white, quite spacious, and even has private rooms at the back. The menu offers a variety of soba dishes and a decent selection of local sake. The soba noodles were made from 100% buckwheat and had a rich flavor and aroma, although they were a bit delicate due to being cut short. The dipping sauce was flavorful with a strong bonito taste. The mini tempura rice bowl was delicious with freshly fried tempura shrimp, shishito peppers, sweet potatoes, eggplant, and kabocha squash. The tempura alone could make you want to drink some sake. I might visit again for dinner to enjoy some sake with a dashimaki tamago. Thank you for the meal.

The scent of the soba noodles was very strong and satisfying. All the dishes were delicious, especially the rolled omelette and sashimi. The selection of sake available by the glass was easy to choose from with descriptions of the flavors. I also liked the variety of other options like Yamazaki plum wine and Fukayama grape wine. I would like to go back again.

There is a popular soba restaurant thriving at the Satsu Station, and it had been about 6 years since my last visit. While enjoying the all-you-can-drink option, we ordered a la carte food items including salted corn tempura which was delicious. We followed up with beer and highballs as usual. The food in general was tasty, and for the finale, we each ordered the chilled black wheat soba for 880 yen from the extensive soba menu. Mixing the dipping sauce with the chilled noodles was delightful, especially with the flavorful seaweed. The recommended drinks were served promptly, making it a highly satisfying dining experience. The restaurant seems to have gained more popularity over the years. Thank you for the feast!

The restaurant plays jazz music and has a calm atmosphere. It seems like it's more focused on evening dining. There are counter seats and table seats. I ordered a mini tendon and soba set for 1000 yen. The soba can be served either cold (100% buckwheat) or warm (20% wheat). I chose the cold soba, which had a good texture and was deliciously smooth. The dipping sauce was just right. The tendon was small but had shrimp, zucchini, pumpkin, eggplant, red bell pepper, and green pepper tempura on top. It was crispy and the sauce was slightly sweet. Both the soba and tendon were delicious and a great value for lunch.

I found a soba restaurant by chance last month. I arrived in time for lunch, but they had run out of soba, so I couldn't eat. I went back early this time and was able to try it. It was as delicious as I had expected from the good reviews. I might try going at night next time.

I visited the restaurant around 12:00 on a Saturday afternoon in March 2023. It had been a while since my last visit, and I had fond memories of the delicious food. There were 3 groups of customers already there, and more came in later. The atmosphere was calm, with jazz music playing in the background. I ordered the lunch set which included a mini tempura rice bowl and soba noodles (1000 yen) with an extra serving of soba noodles (200 yen). My wife ordered the mushroom soba noodles (1000 yen) and we also got a green tea for 150 yen since it was a lunchtime special. The drinks arrived quickly, followed by the soba noodles after about 15 minutes. The soba noodles had a nice texture and were served with a light dipping sauce, which was delicious. The tempura rice bowl was also tasty, with crispy tempura and a sweet sauce. The shrimp was juicy, the pumpkin was sweet, and the other vegetables were all delicious. I borrowed some mushroom soup from my wife to dip my tempura in, and it added a rich flavor. We finished our meal in no time, and the meal was topped off with a refreshing soba broth. Everything was elegantly delicious, and we left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Having a 100-minute all-you-can-drink course with 7 dishes is amazing, isn't it? I made a reservation for 5 o'clock and arrived a little early. There was a line, quite impressive. I felt relieved waiting as I had a reservation. The lights turned on and we were able to enter. People who were waiting in line without a reservation were turned away. Once seated, even though it was only 5 o'clock in the evening, customers kept coming in one after another, and only those with reservations were accepted. Reservations are definitely necessary here. The course menu was delicious. The portion of soba noodles was a bit small, but it was just right for me. However, there seemed to be some strange changes in the reservation information, with a history of changes made by the restaurant itself. It didn't cause any inconvenience, so I'll let it slide.

I remembered when I was enjoying the affordable shrimp tempura rice bowl lunch set that I had mentioned in my previous review that this is a restaurant I would like to visit at night. I immediately made plans for the evening. I had a relaxing time drinking alone, and the location is great! The atmosphere is nice, with private rooms available as well as comfortable table seating, making it suitable for entertaining clients, going on a date, or dining with family. However, I wouldn't recommend it for a group date as it might ruin the ambiance! They also offer a drink-all-you-can option, which includes Asahi beer for 1,500 yen per person. And for an additional 500 yen, you can add a selection of 10 premium local sakes to your drink-all-you-can menu. Among the drink options, there are some that soba lovers would enjoy, such as soba shochu with soba hot water, soba tea highball, and even soba tea in soft drinks. We tried 10 different local sakes from all over Japan! Next, let me introduce the soba appetizers. There is a variety of dishes related to soba, such as homemade soba miso dip, peony soba fried soba noodles, soba soup Japanese-style zangi, soba shop yakitori, tofu salad with seaweed and soba seeds, and peony soba flour galette. These dishes all have the name soba in them. In addition to these, there are also classic appetizers like rolled omelet, pickled vegetables, and sashimi, among others. Of course, being a soba restaurant, they also offer tempura, duck, beef tendon, braised pork, and other homemade dishes! And finally, the soba noodles to finish the meal. As I mentioned in my previous review, the soba here is delicious, and they even have a unique walnut sauce for dipping. I didn't really get to review the taste of the dishes in detail because there were so many things I wanted to write about, but overall, the lunch deal (mentioned in the previous review) and the soba appetizers, side dishes, and soba noodles for dinner are all great. The atmosphere is nice, the food is delicious, affordable, and they pay attention to detail! This place might become more popular for both lunch and dinner in the future... haha. Highly recommended restaurant! Definitely check it out!

I almost fell multiple times on my way to the shop near Hokkaido University, but I managed to arrive before noon on a weekday. Surprisingly, it was not crowded, and I was quickly seated at a table for two. I ordered the buckwheat noodles in hot broth with duck and green onions, rolled omelette, and fried tofu. The omelette would take some time, so the male staff asked if it was okay, to which I replied yes and went back to studying the menu. Soon, the duck and green onions, as well as the fried tofu, arrived. The duck was served with plenty of green onions and yuzu pepper, looking delicious. I tried the green onions and duck together, separately, and they were both delicious. I ordered a glass of Niseko sake from Hokkaido, which had a nice aroma and tasted great. The fried tofu was also delicious, typical of a good soba shop. While waiting for the omelette, which was said to take time, I ordered a glass of Junmai Ginjo sake from Hokkaido. However, it never arrived. So, I decided to order a large serving of soba noodles with 10% buckwheat (for an additional 200 yen, with a free next time with the receipt). The soba noodles were elegantly thin and had a wonderful sweetness. They disappeared from my plate in no time. The soba broth was also delicious. It reminded me of the now-closed Goutokuji Amekoya. I love soba noodles. When I asked the kind female staff about the rolled omelette, it turned out that it was forgotten in the order. It seems they were not keen on serving the omelette. They also mentioned that they would no longer serve soba noodles for lunch. It was a happy experience to have my "First and Last Soba Noodles Lunch Drink" at Kuro Mugisan.

Just arrived at the restaurant. They make hand-cut soba noodles using 100% Hokkaido buckwheat flour every day. The origin and variety may change depending on the season. Cold soba noodles (including dipping sauce) are made with 100% buckwheat flour. They also offer hand-cut 80% buckwheat noodles mixed with 20% wheat flour, which pairs well with bonito and mackerel flavors. The warm soba noodles are made with 80% buckwheat flour. The distinction between the two is intriguing! Today, I was about to order the 100% buckwheat noodles when I came across their lunch menu! And the contents are a soba and rice bowl set for only 1,000 yen! And the rice bowls look incredibly delicious! ・Mini tempura rice bowl and soba set ・Mini bonito rice bowl and soba set ・Mini pork belly rice bowl and soba set These are the kind of dishes you wouldn't get tired of even if you had them five times a week...lol While waiting, I took a look at the menu...and here comes the dinner menu! The soba appetizers are plentiful, and affordable! They even offer all-you-can-drink options and courses! This place is definitely worth coming for drinks! And then, the soba arrived. The texture is just right and the chewiness is perfect. The broth is flavorful and pairs amazingly well with the noodles. Definitely coming back for more.

When traveling, it's easy to overeat, especially in Sapporo. For lunch, I originally thought about having ramen, but decided to switch to soba to be a bit more moderate. I found a calm soba restaurant near Hokkaido University. They had a lunch set with a bowl dish, but I opted for just a plain serving of soba, and I got the large size. The thick soba noodles had a satisfying weight to them, and a rich aroma. The soba dipping sauce had a strong umami flavor with bonito as the main ingredient. I finished the whole dish without getting tired of it. When I paid, they gave me a free voucher for a large size on my next visit. I wonder when I'll be back in Sapporo again. Heading towards Shin-Chitose Airport.

The restaurant received advance information from cute juniors HIRO's and Shishi through Line. One reason for this is that a familiar soba craftsman is currently helping out at the restaurant. After greeting the waiter who was in charge of the hall, we chatted for a while. HIRO's and Shishi are both lively characters, so there are many topics to discuss. In contrast, the soba craftsman was straightforward with me (laughs). However, it seems that the soba on this day was not made by him. The 100% buckwheat noodles were priced at 750 yen. Although I will omit the exact ratio, the blend mainly consisted of Botan and Kitawase varieties. While lacking the fresh greenness of new soba, it had a distinct aroma. When pulled, it had a chewy and dense texture typical of 100% buckwheat noodles, with the unique flavor and sweetness of the Botan variety resonating gently but deeply. However, it was a shame that the cutting was slightly lacking in sharpness. The slightly rich tsuyu broth had a crisp finish and a refined dashi flavor. I will reiterate that if the sharpness can be improved, the quality could aim for a score of 4.0 or higher in my opinion. I hope they will strive for improvement.

Mini simmered pork bowl and soba set (hot) for 1000 yen. The simmered pork has a gentle seasoning with a hint of ginger. It's not the type that makes you want to keep eating. The soba is country-style and easy to eat. The dipping sauce is light and easy to drink without getting tired. It's good that they provide paper towels and soba tea, but I wish they also had paper napkins and water. Also, I would like them to offer regular shichimi spice. The service is good. They give you a coupon on the receipt for a free upgrade to a large soba or a soft drink on your next visit.

I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a long time, but didn't have the opportunity until after a year and a half. Finally, I was able to visit Kuro Mugisama. Since it is a night-oriented restaurant, the atmosphere inside is like a bar. The jazzy background music also adds to the ambiance. I arrived shortly after the 11:30 opening time and the place was already almost full. This bustling atmosphere only heightened my expectations for the delicious food. They specialize in hand-made soba, so I decided to try their soba with a raw egg topping. It arrived within 5 minutes of ordering and you could clearly see the hand-made quality. The chewy texture of the soba really stood out. The dipping sauce was a bit on the salty side, but when combined with the soba, it was pure bliss. This is the kind of soba you want to keep eating until you're completely full. Towards the end, I tried a different flavor by scooping up just the egg yolk with some condiments and adding it to the dipping sauce. The richness of the yolk really shone through with the slightly salty sauce. As expected, it was a satisfying and delicious hand-made soba experience until the very end. Thank you for the meal.

Soba restaurant located in the basement of a building in Kita-ku, Sapporo, at Nishi 4-chome, Kita 8-jo. I have visited the Altana in the same building for wine before. I bought some bread at the nearby Pankichi and decided to have soba for lunch. When I arrived at the restaurant after 11 am, I saw a sign saying they were open, so I entered. A female staff member told me that they open at 11:30 am and asked me to wait outside. At 11:30 am, I was greeted by the staff and allowed to enter. The interior of the restaurant was stylish and modern with a mix of Japanese elements, indirect lighting, and a lovely atmosphere. Since I was dining alone, I naturally sat at the counter. There were only two seats at the counter, one of which was used for glasses, and the rest were table seats. They served me warm soba tea first. The lunch menu offered three sets of soba and rice bowls, as well as various soba dishes and drinks. I decided to have a quiet lunch and head home. I ordered the set of soba and katsuobushi-don for 1000 yen. The appearance of the soba in the seiro was excellent, and it smelled great. The soba had a firm texture, a slight roughness, and a good throat sensation. The soba broth had a rich flavor with a bit of sweetness, and the condiments were fresh wasabi and green onions. Putting a little wasabi on the soba enhanced its sweetness. The katsuobushi-don was served in a rice bowl with five slices of red meat katsuobushi on top. The fish had a moist and tender texture, possibly due to the marinade. The pickles were thinly sliced daikon radish pickles, which were delicious. By around noon, more customers started to arrive. It's a popular restaurant, and I would love to visit again in the evening.

I wanted to eat delicious soba, so I visited a building and went through a small door in the basement where a good smell stimulates my appetite. The restaurant has a stylish feel with jazz music playing, creating an adult atmosphere. I made a reservation with my children, so we were seated in a private room in the back. We were tempted by the lunch set which included braised pork rice bowl and cold soba, as well as seafood rice bowl and warm soba. The children had warm soba with shrimp tempura and cold soba, one each. The warm soba was 2*8 and the cold soba was 10/10. The dishes looked delicious when they arrived. The warm soba was served first, and I added black pepper to my liking. The seafood rice bowl had a thick and fatty piece of mackerel, which was delicious. The tempura was served separately from the soba, with salt on the side. I prefer cold soba in a refined restaurant, and the portion size was surprisingly generous. I prefer a richer flavor for the braised pork, but it came with a seasoned egg. I noticed that many people were eating chicken tempura rice bowls, which caught my attention. The receipt included a coupon for a free large serving or a free drink on the next visit. The restaurant is conveniently located near the station and was a good choice. Thank you for the meal.

Pork belly bowl and soba set for 1000 yen, using Gotoeat points. During lunchtime, most customers are office workers, and they all order the lunch set. The additional charge for black wheat is for toppings like tempura bits. The pork belly in the bowl is tender and the portion of rice in the set is just right, not too filling. It also comes with an egg, which is nice! The soba is made of 100% buckwheat, which is rare. It has a slightly chewy texture, which I like. It also comes with sweet pickles. Is 1000 yen for this set reasonable considering the location? In my opinion, a soba set usually costs around 850-950 yen. The interior of the restaurant is dimly lit with only table seating, but since it's mostly office workers dining alone, it doesn't feel awkward. I recommend getting a larger portion if you're really hungry! On a side note, being able to use points for soba is really convenient. The point redemption period has been extended until June, so I'll definitely come back to use it again! Thank you for the meal!

I finished work in the morning, so I went to have soba noodles for lunch today. I ordered the large serving of cold soba noodles. When I visited last time, the restaurant was closed so I couldn't eat, so this is my chance for revenge. At this restaurant, if you bring the receipt from your previous visit, you can get a free soft drink or a large serving. They served my order in about 5 minutes. The noodles were thin, shiny, with a strong buckwheat aroma and a good texture. I even enjoyed the soba broth after finishing my meal. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

In 2020, for the last review of the year on New Year's Eve, I decided to have soba noodles♪ I finally got the chance to visit a restaurant where I had been rejected before. They offer a set of seafood bowl and soba noodles for 1000 yen, using "Urashio-grown Botan soba," known as the "phantom soba." The homemade 100% soba noodles are so smooth, almost like 80% soba noodles. The broth, with a strong bonito flavor, is delicious! The seafood bowl includes bonito, mackerel, white fish, and shrimp, all fresh and tasty. The rice is also delicious! I really liked the cloudy soba soup. The warm soba tea was so good that it made me want to become someone who can make delicious tea next year (laughs). If you want to eat to your heart's content, I recommend getting the large portion as it's not very filling. The receipt can be used as a coupon for your next visit, where you can get a free soft drink or a large portion of soba noodles for lunch. It seems like a great place to enjoy soba noodles and drinks at night too. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for all the "likes" this year. Have a great New Year everyone!!
