I used to catch a tai (sea bream) at Tsuriyoshi in the past, and I have cherished that memory for a long time. One of the purposes of my visit to Osaka this time was also fishing. Undeterred by my sagging pants, I firmly held the fishing rod just like that little boy did back then. He was so cute ♡ So, this time I visited another Tsuriyoshi location in Namba. I was determined to catch a tai again. However, this time I aimed for a flounder, but unfortunately, there were no flounders around. So, I decided to go for tai using a hook. When I sat down, I was completely ignored, with no one coming to assist. I had to call a staff member over to ask for an explanation. They informed me that the fishing rod and bait were free, and they offered hook fishing for tai. Since the fish were cautious, they warned me that hook fishing could be difficult, so I decided to target the tai's mouth. And so, the fishing adventure began! The tai were swimming around nonchalantly. But I, being a proud angler, refused to simply hook the fish with my hands and insisted on using proper fishing techniques. Oh! I got a bite! Well, not really, I got hooked! The fish was thrashing wildly, and I was worried it might splash water onto the neighboring table. I managed to reel in the tai and took a commemorative photo. A single tai costs 3124 yen. I ordered half-body sushi (+500 yen) and half-body tempura (300 yen for cooking). When the sushi arrived, I was surprised by how little there was! Only 9 pieces? When I caught tai at Tsuriyoshi in the past, I got a total of 19 pieces. This time, only 9 pieces seemed too few. The tempura that came out also seemed like a small portion for a half-body serving. Where did the rest of the tai go? Even my companion, the little boy, was puzzled. We finished the tai quickly this time, unlike the previous struggle. We also ordered various other dishes, including skewers, but the tempura was too oily, and the batter was still uncooked inside, so we left it uneaten. The initial appetizer of pink pickles was too generous and haphazard. I had a feeling from that moment, but I was disappointed that the hospitality and attention to detail in the food were lacking. The staff didn't explain the fishing process, didn't clear the plates, and most importantly, the size of the caught tai and the amount served did not match up, leaving me feeling disappointed. Next time, I will go back to the Tsuriyoshi in the old world. I usually don't write negative reviews, but this time was just not good.
