I visited a place where my favorite Osaka specialty "Daimaru Manju" used to be sold until last autumn, but it had been replaced by another shop. However, across the street, I discovered something that caught my eye. It was the famous Kobe Fugetsudo's signature product "Gaufre". This popular confectionery has been loved by many people for nearly a century since its release, but there was a souvenir version called "Mini Gaufre". Moreover, it came in a cute tin with charming illustrations of Tsutenkaku and Osaka Castle. This is the ultimate Osaka souvenir! So, I decided to buy it right away! The mini Gaufre in the palm-sized cute tin has a crispy and fragrant thin baked dough sandwiched with vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate cream, offering a delightful melt-in-your-mouth experience!

Kobe Fugetsudo is a famous confectionery store located on the basement floor of Daimaru Umeda in front of JR Osaka Station in Kita-ku, Osaka. Founded in 1897 by Yoshikawa Ichizo, who was originally from Kobe and trained as an apprentice at Tokyo's Yonezawa Fugetsudo, with the approval of the Osumi family. The store is known for its gaufres. Today's snack is from Kobe Fugetsudo's 2021 Valentine's series, the Chocola Crunch with 5 pieces for 540 yen. It includes 3 milk and 2 berry sparkling flavors. The crunch is made by crushing the thin gaufre dough and mixing it with chocolate. It has a good aroma and a crispy texture, which was delicious. Thank you for the treat! ❤️ ( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ )

One of the souvenirs I received was a Petit Gaufre from Kari Tsukido. When I was young, my relatives in Ueno sometimes had Ueno Kari Tsukido's Gaufre at home, and I have fond memories of enjoying them. So, I still love Gaufre. The Petit Gaufre is not a large Gaufre like the ones from the past, but a palm-sized Gaufre. The flavors are the traditional vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. I like vanilla the best. JrNO1 also loves Gaufre since he was a child. Is it genetic? But he prefers chocolate Gaufre, so we can each enjoy our favorite flavors. Thank you for the meal.

This is a baked snack with almonds. It is crispy with lots of almonds. I bought it to serve to my friends who are coming over to my house! I thought it would be nice to have with tea. It was also well received by my friends! It was perfect with black tea! (^o^)/

Kobe Fugetsudo @ Umeda I bought some cute wagashi (Japanese sweets) made with animal motifs. The Otome Hitsuji ★ was colorful and adorable, with a gold leaf coating and strawberry bean paste inside. The Oyogu Shirokuma ★ had a white bear peeking out of a crystal ball made of ice and red bean paste. It was so cute and creative! The craftsmanship and ideas were amazing! The taste was very refreshing.

I'm actually a Hello Kitty fan♪ Well, just a cat lover, that's all... I've loved Hello Kitty since I was a child. So when I receive Hello Kitty items, it makes me happy, even though it's just a normal snack like the Gofuru from Fugetsudo. Not only the cute design on the can, but also the packaging inside and even on the Gofuru itself, the overwhelming presence of Hello Kitty is just amazing♪ Did anyone else feel like they enjoyed it more than the usual Gofuru? (*^^*)

As a thank you, I received some waffles from Kobe Fugetsudo. They are Halloween-themed and really cute. When you think of Fugetsudo, you think of their waffles, right? The thin, crispy waffle shell with a delicate sweet cream filling is just delicious. While other companies also make waffles, the crispiness of this shell can only be found at Fugetsudo. The mini waffle set includes vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate flavors, with 3 pieces of each in 2 bags. They are all tasty, but my favorite is vanilla, followed by strawberry and then chocolate. I love waffles, so I devoured them in no time.

Now, at Daimaru Umeda Store, not Umeda Ten, but "mise" (store) as they say. At Daimaru, there is a display of the same old design waffle tin from Kazuki-do. They still have the Hanshin Tigers waffle tin, but understandably, they don't have it at Daimaru, even though it's a Hanshin department store, because it's a nearby competitor. That's fine. Back in the day, they also sold waffle tins for our beloved Nankai Hawks, and I managed to get the tin later on. This time, the Bousse was prominently displayed. I tried the Honey Lemon Bousse, and it was delicious. It had a creamy filling with a hint of sweetness and lemon peel bits inside, giving off a nice aroma. It pairs well with tea.

When it comes to gaufres, Kobe Fugetsudo is the place to go! Their new Petite Gaufres Salees have a unique flavor with a cream that is not too sweet, but refreshing. The crispy texture is also amazing. It's a perfect gift or snack. If you are in the area, be sure to visit Kobe Fugetsudo. Enjoy!

I received a souvenir from Kobe Fugetsudo, Petit Gaufre. I have loved gaufre since I was a child. It's a high-quality treat that you receive for gifts like Ochugen, Oseibo, or souvenirs. I'm always happy to receive it, as it's one of my favorite sweets. This time, I received a set of 2 Petit Gaufres with a zodiac design for the New Year. The tin can with artwork by artist Yusaburo Kawase is cute and festive. The taste is as you would expect - light and crispy! The buttercream is gently sweet, and it brings a nostalgic feeling as I finish a piece in one go. It's truly delicious! I don't think there's anyone who doesn't like this treat. It's a delightful sweet that you're always happy to receive!

I received a gift of Gofuru from Fugetsudo from the company. There were two rectangular cans, one containing the regular version. Each bag had one piece of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. I have always liked vanilla, so I wondered if they sell a version with only vanilla. In the end, I ate all three pieces. The other can contained Gofuru with matcha, coffee, and black tea flavors, with each bag containing three pieces of the same flavor. I tried the black tea flavor, which had a cream with Earl Grey flavor sandwiched in it, giving it an elegant taste. I enjoyed it with barley tea, but I wonder what would go well with it... maybe black tea? But I still like vanilla the best. Thank you for the meal.

In February 2011, when it comes to Kazetsukudo, it's all about the Gaufre, right? Whenever I go to Arima, I always buy the carbonated rice cracker flakes. But what's the difference between Gaufre and carbonated rice crackers? Oh well. Gaufre is often given as a souvenir, and I may have never bought it myself, but if you're in the Kansai area, you definitely have a round tube of Gaufre at home, right? (laughs) This time, I received it as a souvenir again, and it was chocolate crunch flavor. I was surprised to learn that there are other flavors besides Gaufre. But my favorite is still the regular cream Gaufre. Today's receipt: Not available.

JR Osaka Station right away ☆ Located in Daimaru Umeda B1, there is Kazetsukido, a long-established confectionery store in Kobe established in Meiji 30. When it comes to Kazetsukido, it's all about the gaufre. This confectionery is well-known in the Hanshin area. Gaufre was born in Showa 2. In honor of gaufre, May 5th is also known as Gaufre Day. The Respoire (can!?) comes in 12 pieces for ¥525, 26 pieces for ¥1050 (maybe in a box!?) 8 pieces for ¥525, 24 pieces for ¥1050, 36 pieces for ¥1575. It has won the Gold Award for the 39th, 40th, and 41st Monde Selection for three consecutive years, as well as the Grand Gold Medal. The rich flavor of butter and eggs, with a mellow taste and richness, is truly a work of art in cookies. The crispy and light Respoire will impress the recipient with the giver's sense. The mini can of Hello Kitty contains gaufre, of course. It includes three flavors: white, strawberry, and chocolate. The thin dough with a moderate sweetness of cream is easy to eat and delicious. Mini size. I received it for White Day. Kobe Busse 10 pieces for ¥1365, I have loved this since a long time ago. A light-textured dough with white cream, and brandy-soaked raisins sandwiched inside. The raisin-filled one is delicious. It looks round and plump, and it looks delicious, right? A popular item, Busse. Seasonal limited flavors are also available. Matcha, recommended for spring. Sometimes, apple is also sold. I wonder how many types are available in total. The photo shows the raisin and chestnut flavors that are always available.

When it comes to Goofuru, I imagine a childhood memory of receiving a large snack as a gift, larger than the palm of my hand. However, this time, I received a set of three smaller sizes (coffee, black tea, matcha). It's an interesting combination of tea flavors, suitable for both children and adults. I tried all three at once, and the coffee flavor had a nice bitterness to it. The black tea had a distinct Earl Grey aroma and tasted great. I was particularly impressed by the matcha flavor, as it's rare to find a snack that truly captures the essence of matcha. I finished them all quickly because they were so delicious. I would love to have them again!

I have been a regular customer at Kobe Fugetsudo for a while now. I use their sweets as gifts for customers. I prefer going to the Hankyu side rather than Daimaru. The customer service is very polite. Daimaru is also good. The gaufres are delicious, whether you eat them after a long time or not. Nowadays, it seems like fewer people are eating them. Maybe young people haven't tried them before? I used to eat them a lot when I was a child. It's nostalgic, so I end up buying them. I hope the recipients also find it nostalgic. I always buy the assortment in a can for just over 2,000 yen. I used to put various things in the can after eating them in the past...

I bought a box of gaufres. It might be the first time I bought gaufres myself. My goal was not the gaufres, but the can with character designs. Inside, there are 2 packs each of 3 different flavors: strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. I couldn't really tell the difference in taste, maybe because I didn't pay attention. It was a very light, crispy, nostalgic snack. Easy to eat and delicious. I might buy it again to collect the cans.

When I went back to my parents' house, I found them! I love waffles! I always tend to go for the strawberry flavor... Strawberry flavor always seems to have slightly fewer pieces in the pack... When I was a child, my sister and I would often fight over them and have battles. In the end, my parents always got priority. But now, sometimes when I go back home, they give me all the delicious things! So when I said I wanted the strawberry flavor, of course they gave it to me! (Is that cheating?) I definitely recommend strawberry over vanilla! (Just my personal preference) Vanilla is less sweet, but strawberry is softly sweet and I love it! Crispy and delicious~ My father was eating the chocolate flavor. I think someone other than me would be happy if they ate the chocolate or vanilla. By the way, there was no matcha flavor that day, but I like matcha or strawberry for waffles.

I'm not sure which one is the original, Tokyo's Fugetsudo or Kobe Fugetsudo, but I always thought it was a Tokyo sweet for a long time. However, since Kobe Fugetsudo has a longer history, I decided to buy some light and delicious gaufres as a souvenir at the department store basement this time. Kobe Fugetsudo's tin designs are more stylish than Tokyo's. The strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla cream sandwiches may not be unique anymore, but they have a gentle, traditional taste that remains popular. Also, they are easy on the teeth, making them great to bring to homes with elderly people or young children. While similar products are sold by other manufacturers, there is nothing that beats Fugetsudo.

There is a shop selling various types of gaufres, and it's no wonder they have been in business for many years because their gaufres are excellent. They even sell gaufres in Mickey Mouse cans at places like Disneyland, and they are delicious. They come with cream, chocolate, or vanilla filling, and the unique feature here is that the dough is thin, soft, and refreshing. The thin dough means there is less spillage, and the balance between the amount of cream and the dough is perfect. They also offer cans with designs of Kobe's scenery, making them a great souvenir as they have an expiration date. The only downside is that the cans can be a bit heavy.

The store is located on the B1 floor of Daimaru Department Store in Umeda. It's a great place to grab a snack when you're feeling a bit peckish around 3 o'clock. The prices are reasonable and the snacks are delicious. Here are some of the tasty snacks they offer:
- Gaufre: A crispy snack similar to senbei with a creamy filling of vanilla, strawberry, or chocolate.
- Les Poires: A buttery and crispy treat with a cute shape.
- Dricapo: A snack with plenty of almonds.
- Ice Cream: They offer flavors like mango, custard, and chocolate. You can also find this shop in Hankyu, Shinsaibashi Daimaru, and Abeno Kintetsu.
