Originally, tonkotsu ramen originated in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, so I came to try Kurume ramen. It goes well with rice, can be customized with different flavors, and of course, when it comes to tonkotsu ramen, you have to have a "kaedama" (extra noodles). I thoroughly enjoyed Kurume ramen until my stomach was full.

Ryunoie Kamitsu branch is a ramen restaurant located along the Kamitsu Bypass. They offer both rich and pure flavors, both of which are delicious! I think it is the top representative of tonkotsu ramen in Fukuoka. Their special pudding is also highly recommended and definitely worth a try!

I revisited the restaurant on the 2nd day! Although it has been 3 years since my last review, it has been 2 years since my last visit. I arrived around 1 o'clock and there were over 20 people waiting outside the shop, extending to the sidewalk. Including the line inside the shop, there were about 30 people waiting, and I waited for about 30 minutes. I ordered the Shoyu Chashu Ramen A set (5 gyoza, rice) and a children's ramen. I was asked for my order while waiting in line, so I didn't have to wait long to be served. The soup was hot and had a rich flavor. I prefer the regular Shoyu over the soy sauce flavor. It lacks a sweet richness, but you can taste the straight umami of the pork bone. The highlight is the chashu! The balance of meat and fat, the melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the chewiness of the meat, all combined with the sweet and savory flavor of the chashu. It goes well with rice! The gyoza were bite-sized and flavorful with a hint of leeks or garlic. Last year I ended with ramen, and started with ramen. How many bowls of ramen will I eat this year?

The ramen at this restaurant is delicious, but I think the fried rice for ¥600 is the best. The fried rice is made with simple ingredients like chashu, fish cake, egg, and green onions, but the soy sauce-based seasoning and the fluffy texture make it disappear in no time.

I tried to go somewhere else but couldn't find parking, so ended up at the popular Ryunoie in Kurume! The Uetsu store had a huge parking lot and was quite busy, but I found a spot quickly. After a short wait, I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen set (with fried rice). It was a bit pricey at 1000 yen, but the fried rice came out first followed quickly by the ramen. The noodles were thin and the broth was a rich pork soy sauce flavor. It was more like Hakata ramen than Kurume ramen. The fried rice was also flavorful with a strong soy sauce taste. I added spicy pickled mustard greens with an extra noodle refill and left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

Hello! I am a ramen enthusiast in my 40s. Since taking a break, I haven't been able to go to ramen shops due to COVID. I finally went back to Ryunoie in Kamitsuke, Kurume. In my personal taste, Kurume's Daikan and Ryunoie are like yokozuna (grand champion), and I have been a repeat customer many times. After the lifting of the COVID emergency declaration, on a Saturday afternoon, the Kamitsuke Bypass was crowded, with Daikan also having a line. Ryunoie also had a line. I'm not good at waiting in line, so I waited in the car and entered after 2 pm. I ordered the Tonkotsu rich flavor ramen for 750 yen and the fried rice set B for 350 yen. It had been so long since I last visited Ryunoie, I wonder how many years it has been. The customer service is really polite, and the staff's atmosphere is great! This year, I really liked "Nakaru Ramen" and "Shinmen Musashi," but Ryunoie still remains my personal favorite with its richness. The chashu also melts in your mouth, no complaints there! In recent years, I always order fried rice sets at any ramen shop. Ryunoie's fried rice is also the best! ...I want to say that, but it was somewhat lacking in flavor. If it's about the fried rice, there are other delicious places. If the fried rice had been better, it would have been a perfect 4.5 points... Unfortunately. (This is strictly a matter of personal taste.) However, Ryunoie is still great! Thank you for the meal!

When I go back to my hometown, I always visit a ramen place. They serve a kind tonkotsu broth that is very comforting. I like to add pickled mustard greens, bean sprouts, and red pickled ginger to customize my ramen. It's great for changing up the flavor and can also be enjoyed as a snack. This time, I also ordered fried rice as an extra. The fried rice made in the fully automatic frying pan was unexpectedly fluffy and had a home-cooked feel to it. It was delicious in its own way.

This is the original location of the Kamitsuke shop, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. During Sunday dinner time, the restaurant quickly fills up and remains popular with a steady stream of customers. The modern interior has a jazz background music. The staff efficiently manage the flow of customers, and the tables are neatly arranged, making it a popular choice for families. I ordered the Tonkotsu rich flavor ramen (680 yen including tax) with a side of B (fried rice) set (300 yen including tax). While waiting, I enjoyed the spicy bean sprouts and pickled mustard greens. Soon, the ramen was served. The soup, enhanced with pork fat, had a rich flavor, with the added aroma of chili oil and spicy miso making it delicious. The bean sprouts, wood ear mushrooms, green onions, chashu pork, and thin straight noodles all complemented each other well. The thickly sliced chashu pork had a strong presence and was full of flavor. It had been a while since I had such flavorful chashu pork. Towards the end of the ramen, I mixed in the spicy bean sprouts and pickled mustard greens, giving it a different twist. The fried rice had a distinct Kurume flavor, with a nice crispy texture that paired well with the rich ramen. Among Kurume ramen, I believe this shop ranks high. Next time, I might visit a shop near Kurume Interchange to seek a more authentic taste. Thank you for the meal!

Ryunoie Kamitsu store in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It was crowded during lunchtime, so I had to wait a bit for a table. I ordered the rich and flavorful ramen with a seasoned boiled egg on top. The soup, with pork bone broth, was thick with a good amount of pork fat and sesame oil floating on top. The spicy miso added a nice kick, making me want to order an extra serving of noodles. The thin straight noodles had a good texture, not too soft, and they coated well with the low hydration. The chashu had a good flavor but was a bit thin. The ramen seemed like a fusion of Kurume and Hakata styles, which makes sense as the chef trained at Ippudo. The fried rice was delicious, just as rumored, with a nice seasoning and a fluffy texture. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you.

I visited another ramen shop after the Inter store. Last time I chose a rich broth, but this time I went for a lighter one! I had a lot of bean sprouts before enjoying the ramen with flavored egg. It was easy to eat and I prefer it over Ippudo. The chashu pork was a hit this time. The noodles were quite firm, which I liked. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered fried rice at Ramen Harigane and it was made by a machine. I wish they had cooked it in a frying pan.

For lunch today, I had the "Kokuaji Char Tamago" fried rice set at Ryunoie along the Kamitsubara Bypass. The rich ramen paired with the light fried rice was delicious. 🍜🍳👌

I used to live nearby and used to visit often, but I realized it had been 7 years since my last visit. I had the tonkotsu ramen with fried rice set. I skipped the famous pudding this time. Too bad.

There are various opinions, but I think the originality of the taste is high. The bean sprouts here are delicious with a spicy flavor.

The deliciousness of stable bean sprouts. I enjoyed the rich flavor. I remember there was garlic when I used to eat it in Kumamoto, but maybe I remembered wrong?
