On Wednesday and Friday, I visited this restaurant just before opening time to see if there would be a line, but there was none. Only two customers arrived after opening. I ordered the lunch set 【Nigiri Set (900 yen)】 which was served in about 5 minutes. The nigiri set included 7 pieces of nigiri sushi, 1 piece of gunkan sushi, and udon noodles on the side. The toppings for the sushi varied that day, including oyster gunkan, sea bream, shrimp, conger eel, egg, marinated mackerel, yellowtail, and gizzard shad. The size of the toppings was average, with slightly smaller rice portions. The sushi itself was delicious. The udon noodles were a soft and chewy type typical of Osaka, with a flavorful broth and generous toppings of watercress, seaweed, and tempura crumbs. The portion of noodles was satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

A child being born seems to have given a boost to the momentum of life. I feel like I can approach everything with a balanced mindset, without stumbling or being overly focused on one thing. I feel light and carefree. Actress Atsuko Maeda. Today, I visited the sushi restaurant "Onofuku" near the Dotombori River. It was a lunch day, which is only on Wednesdays and Fridays, and I finally had the chance to visit. I was seated at the counter. The head chef was passionately watching the Swallows and Buffaloes in a fierce battle in the Japan Series. - Lunch Set [8 pieces of nigiri sushi] = 900 yen I chose the nigiri sushi for the lunch set, which also comes with kake udon. It was irresistible. The sushi was packed with the umami of the seafood. The rice portion was small, but with the udon, it was no problem. I left feeling comfortably full. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Alright, next time I'll try the "seafood chirashi." Let's continue on the path with determination, and finish without regrets.

I had been curious about this sushi restaurant for a while. Today, I visited a total of at least 5 restaurants in one day, so I quickly stopped by here. I started off with a beer and some sushi! The sushi pieces were large and satisfying. I especially loved the tamago (egg) sushi... so delicious! The sawara (Spanish mackerel) with saikyo miso was light and fluffy, just how I like it! I also ordered a sashimi platter and ikura (salmon roe), which were both fresh and tasty. I can tell that the other menu items are probably just as good. The friendly owner and chef took great care of me, and I had a great time dining alone. Since I'm doing a food and drink crawl today, I'll stop here for now. I look forward to coming back next time for a full meal. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience!

Ono Tomihisa, a shop where fans of the Nankai Buffaloes gather. Buffa-kun, Buffy Reed, nostalgic! Definitely don't serve "Buffalo Bull" or "Buffalo Bell". For drinks, apple juice is a must. Instead of "push out", it's "stick out". A platter of 7 kinds of sashimi. Squid. Tuna. Salmon. Even at a sushi restaurant, they say salmon instead of trout. Scallop. Focus on the food! Eggs, salmon, and conger eel are also intriguing. Oh, the spirit of the Orioles. Will Orix Buffaloes fans also come? For sushi, leave it to the head chef. Akita's specialty, iburi gakko, a pickled radish that gets tastier the more you chew. Just like Akita-born pitcher Tatsumi Murata, the more he pitches, the better he gets. Shrimp and what? There's some kind of miso on top of the shrimp. The sushi toppings may run out, but the head chef's stories never do. Sushi Restaurant Ono Tomihisa.

Sushi restaurant Onotomihisa. Located in the famous Osaka Minami Dotonbori, this is a place where fans of the former baseball team the Buffaloes gather. Cheers. What is this appetizer? Oyster pasta? Creamy oysters have arrived. Oysters are known as the "milk of the sea" due to their white color and high nutritional value. Simmered sea bream. What makes this burdock root so delicious in this dish? Chef's choice nigiri sushi. Fatty tuna. Yellowtail. You can enjoy seasonal fish nigiri at a reasonable price. Grilled salted mackerel. The mackerel easily flakes off the bone, making it easy to eat. Pickled ginger. A shellfish has appeared. Is this shellfish different from the other one? This shellfish has horns. ♬ A swing of the horn, Inamura Buffalo. Is this also an oyster? Salmon. The meal ends with a colorful plate of thin rolls. Squid, shiso leaf, cucumber, bonito flakes, all included. It feels like a place where fans of the Nankai Hawks, Osaka Nankai Hawks, Hankyu Braves, Orix Braves, Orix BlueWave, and Orix Buffaloes gather. Sushi restaurant Onotomihisa.

Cheap! Udon, sushi, and draft beer for only 1200 yen. No wonder it's packed at lunchtime!

On my way back from drinking in Minami, I felt like eating some rice (lol). The place is more like an izakaya than a sushi restaurant. Surprisingly, it's really crowded - with tourists, regulars, it's lively. The friendly owner serves quickly and keeps an eye on the customers even while making sushi. I don't usually drink shochu, but it was cheap so I ordered it (lol). Oh, here come the appetizers.
- Seared sushi (6 pieces): Yellowtail, medium fatty tuna, salmon, mackerel, amberjack, eel
The sushi is lightly seared - the fish seems slightly cooked, giving it a white appearance. It's more like the fish was lightly steamed than seared. Let's try the yellowtail. Huh? Is this really seared sushi? The vinegar is subtle, with soft, slightly warm fish on top of the rice. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it wasn't to my taste. However, the fish itself is delicious, so it might be better as regular nigiri. Well, I had some shochu, so let's pay and go. Thanks for the meal!

I drank a lot that day and wandered around, finally ending up at "Ono Tomihisa" restaurant! There was actually another sushi restaurant I wanted to go to, but they had last order at 10:30 so I couldn't get in, and ended up at this place! I was quite full, so I only had one piece each of four different types of sushi. The horse mackerel and eel were delicious. I also had a highball with Yamazaki 12 year old whiskey. Next time, I want to go to the restaurant I originally planned for the first stop. Thank you for the meal!!

Met up with colleagues at a bar near Minami no Sauna New Japan. The first place we went to was a regular izakaya where we chatted away and didn't eat much. We ended up coming here for our second spot. The interior had TVs and a casual atmosphere like a typical izakaya. There were counter seats and tables in a cozy space. The place is run by a husband and wife. The owner shared stories about the history of the restaurant. The second-generation owner is around my age and we surprisingly hit it off with random conversations. They focus more on shochu than sake. We started with thin-sliced raw sea bream. We also had pickled vegetables as a side dish. Although they are technically a sushi restaurant, they are willing to make any dish if they have the ingredients. The sushi set had 10 pieces, with one piece being an egg sushi. The rice was on the larger side, typical of a casual sushi place. Such places shouldn't be too big. The sushi toppings were generous. They have been in business for many years, so they seem to have regular customers. It's a laid-back place where you can casually drop by in your everyday clothes. Thank you for the meal.

A sushi restaurant located near Dotombori Yotsubashi-suji. My companion was in a sushi mood, so we decided to visit this place. While the main focus is obviously sushi, there are also various small dishes that would appeal to those who enjoy sake. We started off with a refreshing beer and then enjoyed different sake and dishes based on our mood that day. It seems like the restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. The appetizer for the day was a unique combination of salted vegetables "ice plant" and three slices of duck breast, which was quite unusual for a sushi restaurant's appetizer. The creamy tofu in a small dish paired well with the beer. The sashimi platter was fresh, and dishes like "homemade-style" egg and "seafood yukhoe" really hit the spot for sake lovers like us. We switched to sake, and the recommended dry sake for 500 yen was reasonably priced and delicious. The warm atmosphere of this place made us forget our daily stress. The final dish of fatty tuna roll was excellent, and we even received a complimentary squid dish. Such gestures of service are rare these days. The master and his wife really know how to create a pleasant dining experience. We look forward to returning for more recommended sake and dishes in the future!

This is a sushi restaurant located in Namba, Osaka. The highlight here is the attentive cooking and service of the manager and his wife (?). The meticulousness is evident in the dishes that are served. The first time I visited, I tried the seared bonito (I think that's what it was) and it was delicious, as they carefully seared it outside before serving. The restaurant has three tables and a counter, and while the menu is limited, each dish is well-crafted. The manager is a fan of the Kintetsu baseball team and he casually talks about Kintetsu and Orix during the meal. So far, I have only visited at night, but next time I will try the lunch and party courses as well.

This spring, a sushi restaurant near Daikoku Bridge that had finally completed renovation. Let's have lunch on our first visit. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with a loud and hearty voice from the owner. We requested the chirashi sushi and wakame soba set (900 yen). It seems to be run by a husband and wife. The restaurant is quite spacious. There is also a TV, so waiting time is not boring. After a while, the soba and chirashi sushi arrived. It looks delicious! The sweet vinegared rice is topped with salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, tuna, squid, and more. Yes, when I was a child, I actually preferred chirashi sushi over nigiri sushi. The wakame soba also has grated yamaimo. I have always loved the sweet and sour taste. In the end, I finished the meal. And for 900 yen, it's cheap! "How long have you been in business here?" I asked. "30 years, haha," the owner replied with a smile. "I will come back for dinner next time," I said, and he waved us off with another smile. This is a restaurant worth revisiting.

Next week, I made a promise to go to a refreshing "Sushi Dinner New Year's Party" with my friends. Since then, the word "sushi... SUSHI..." has been repeating in my head. I couldn't resist the temptation any longer. I ended up jumping into the nearest sushi restaurant from the usual parking lot where I always stop. The place is located in Minami, so it's likely that you'll see foreigners there as well. They even had English menus, which was quite surprising. Since I just dropped in, I ordered the sushi set meal (900 yen). The sushi: The toppings were a bit lacking, but the chef's sushi rice was well-made and fluffy. It was decent for the price. Udon: You can choose between kitsune or tororo (I think...). It was okay, just a little lacking. I felt like I needed more, so I added a tekka maki (400 yen). It was also just average. There were a lot of stickers from MBS (Mainichi Broadcasting System) displayed everywhere. They must have a good relationship with them. Also, there was a home rice cooker right at the entrance, which surprised me, but the sushi rice was fine. However, overall, it seemed like a well-established place (sushi). The chef and his wife were friendly (sushi). It's located in Minami (sushi). I think it's not bad (sushi). Apologies for the puns. Thank you for the meal.

We used this restaurant for a year-end party with four men. We jumped in without any research, just based on the atmosphere that seemed to have a good selection of sake. The inside is small, with a couple of customers enjoying drinks alone and an older couple, creating a calm atmosphere. We mainly ordered the omakase set for 1500 yen and a few side dishes. Everything was of high quality and made with care. They had a variety of sake available, which we were satisfied with. The master and his wife run the place, and their service was very pleasant. We all want to visit again. It's a relaxed and adult-friendly place where you can enjoy sushi without feeling out of place.

I don't often venture to this area in Minami, but I came to enjoy sashimi and sushi with sake. It's the best to have sashimi while tasting three different types of sake. The tamago is sweet and delicious, and the vinegar-flavored shari with sake made me crave more sushi. Today's appetizer is umesuishou tofu, and the sushi includes tamago, maguro, and kohada. The daily sashimi platter includes squid, octopus, bonito tataki, salmon, and mackerel. We also had a tasting of three local sakes (60cc each): Iwami Karakuchi Hakkaisan, Tokubetsu Honjozo Tamano Hikari, and Junmai Ginjo.
