On the first floor of Aeon Iron Town, there is a Japanese sweets shop. When it comes to ohagi... there used to be a famous shop, but now Kofukudo has also increased its number of stores. The kinako ohagi (with red bean paste) and goma ohagi (without red bean paste) have a gentle sweetness that won't cause stomach upset. The goma ohagi has a generous amount of sesame seeds. I might try other Japanese sweets as well. Thank you for the meal!

Before, when I introduced a black sesame ohagi covered with black sesame seeds all over the surface in a wagashi review, Mr./Ms. ◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯◯ commented that they sell it at Koufukudo. What?! It's so close by! I went to check it out on my way home from work at the ion, but maybe due to the time, I couldn't find the black sesame ohagi. However, there was another ohagi that I had never seen before - lemon ohagi. I bought a set of 3 with that in it. The originality of the store was beyond just being a local specialty, with a price of 360 yen reduced to 252 yen (tax included) thanks to an unexpected 30% discount during the closing time sale. When I got home and tried them, there was no noticeable deterioration. The anko (sweet bean paste) was soft as expected. The lemon daifuku, on the other hand, had a refreshing taste with lemon juice added to the white anko, making it light and easy to eat. It was quite good and I personally liked it more than the regular ones because of its uniqueness. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the first floor of Sakai Ion Mall Sakai Tepocho Store is a Japanese confectionery shop. I purchased a set of 4 strawberry daifuku this time. There are two types: one with grainy red bean paste and one with smooth red bean paste. The strawberries had a perfect level of sweetness and were very delicious. Personally, I recommend the smooth red bean paste for its pleasant texture.

I heard from Mairevi-sama that there was a limited-time daifuku with fresh strawberries in it, so I went to try it. But it was already over. I'm sorry, Gojason. I ended up buying kinako dango and mitarashi dango. The kinako dango was generously coated and had a nostalgic deliciousness to it.

Today's souvenir. I visited my friend's flower shop after a long time and couldn't decide what to get, so I chose three different types of dango. Kinako dango for 91 yen, Mitarashi dango for 108 yen, and Hana yori dango for 162 yen. They were all delicious. I tried the kinako dango and it was so tasty!

"It's rare to see ohagi here." What I found at this shop on this day was sakura ohagi. In the spring, you often see sakura mochi at many traditional Japanese sweet shops, but on this day, I found a slightly unexpected spring limited sweet at this shop. That is the "sakura ohagi" that I purchased this time. It is made of half-crushed rice wrapped in sakura bean paste. It may be said that it is an "ohagi using sakura-flavored bean paste," but as for whether there are other places that handle ohagi like this, at least I have never seen it before. The ingredients used are roughly the same as sakura mochi made from mochi rice flour, but perhaps because the bean paste is on the outside rather than inside, I felt that its taste is similar yet different from sakura mochi. I have not confirmed how long they will be offering it, but if you are interested in a reasonably priced and unique sakura-flavored sweet, please consider purchasing it.

When I visited Ion Tetsukoudo town and was about to leave, I noticed a long line in front of Koufukudo. They were offering a 50% discount on items like daifuku. I couldn't resist and decided to buy some. They had various flavors of daifuku, such as strawberry milk, chocolate, and sweet potato. I chose the strawberry milk flavor. I also bought some mitarashi dango, which I couldn't resist eating before taking a photo. The strawberry daifuku had a cute shape with strawberries popping out, and the mochi was soft and delicious even after some time. The filling had a mix of strawberry jam and condensed milk, giving it a unique Western twist. The mitarashi dango was more mochi-like than dango, and I personally prefer dango-like texture. I wonder if they have this half-price sale every day near closing time?

I'm looking for moon-viewing dango here. They have it, but it's not what I expected. However, the rabbit design is cute. The yellow round shape must be the moon. The three-color dango is also made small and easy to eat. I usually buy kinako dango or mochi here, but this time they only have other Japanese sweets. The kinako dango here always has plenty of kinako, which is irresistible for kinako lovers.

"I found something interesting here," said the reviewer. On this day, at this Japanese confectionery shop in Aeon Mall Sakai-Tekkōcho, I found unusual daifuku and dorayaki. Although I was not familiar with it, this 'Kofukudo' is a confectionery brand of the famous 'Kakiyoshi' group known for its delicatessen at department stores. While items like ohagi and mitarashi dango are particularly popular, this time I was more intrigued by the following sweets that I decided to purchase. - Sakurabo Daifuku A seasonal limited edition daifuku made with high-quality brand cherries, Sato Nishiki. When I tried it, I could taste a faint cherry flavor in the white bean paste inside (different from the common cherry blossom leaf flavor). The refined sweetness and freshness of Sato Nishiki were complemented by the cherry bean paste and soft mochi, which I found delightful. - Yakuyoke Amabie Dorayaki A dorayaki with the baked imprint of Amabie, a yokai from Kumamoto said to calm epidemics. Other than the baked imprint, it was a simple dorayaki with a not too overpowering sweetness. - Banana Dorayaki A dorayaki filled with banana puree and jam. It seems rare to use fruits other than chestnuts in dorayaki, except for chilled ones. In terms of taste, it gave me the impression that it would be particularly liked by those who enjoy Western sweets or younger people. While Kakiyoshi's delicatessen is more associated with a "luxury" image, Kofukudo's confectionery shop felt relatively affordable and "popular." I would like to try their ohagi and dango on my next visit.

I bought 10 pieces of "kinako dango" (80 yen each) as a treat for the company staff. They were displayed unpacked, and I managed to buy all 10 pieces at once, which made me feel like I had bought them all out (lol). When you warm them up in the microwave for a bit, they become soft like freshly made ones, so all the staff members headed straight to the microwave with their dango in hand.

Today I bought some treats here - "Strawberry Daifuku with Red Bean Paste" (259 yen) - 10 pieces. There was also a white bean paste option, but I chose all red bean paste because I was feeling lazy (laughs).

I had lunch at Capricciosa Pizza & Buffet at Aeon Mall Sakai Tetsuhommachi store, and bought sushi at Norio Beie Aeon Mall Sakai Tetsuhommachi store for takeout, and now it's time to head back. On August 1st, the southern Osaka area is congested in the evening due to the PL fireworks, so I need to leave early. As I was heading to the parking lot, I found a shop called "Kofukudo." The bright exterior of the shop seems to attract customers well! Next to it were Beard Papa's freshly made workshop at Aeon Mall Sakai Tetsuhommachi store and Kyuseifuku Shoten at Aeon Mall Sakai Tetsuhommachi store. They all looked delicious! Among them, "Kofukudo" stood out. The "mizu manju" displayed next to the warabi mochi looked very appetizing, but since it would take more than 30 minutes to get home, I gave up this time. There were many other delicious manju as well! I bought the warabi mochi for 577 yen. It includes two types: traditional warabi mochi and Kyoto Uji matcha kinako warabi mochi, with about 5 pieces each. The traditional warabi mochi has a soft yet elastic texture, coated with a smooth kinako powder, a traditional Japanese confection also found in the long-established restaurant "Kakiyasu." The Kyoto Uji matcha kinako warabi mochi is coated with Kyoto Uji matcha kinako powder, offering a balance of sweetness and slight bitterness, with a fairly elastic warabi mochi. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal! (´ᴗ`∗)Ⓟ

In the past, when there was a store nearby, it left an impression of being a place with delicious ohagi. There were several types of chilled daifuku, but I wasn't a big fan so I skipped them. My husband wanted to try the banana daifuku, so I chose the warabimochi. The warabimochi was average. The small black sugar manju called Fukufuku Manju was a nostalgic and delicious taste. Each pack is not too big, and it's nice that you can buy just one of each item like ohagi or daifuku.

I visited "Koufukudo Aeon Mall Tepocho Store" in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. It is located on the first floor of Aeon Mall Tepocho, just a short walk from Nankai Main Line's "Nanba Station". This shop specializes in traditional Japanese sweets such as ohagi, daifuku, and dango. I purchased the chilled chocolate banana daifuku, which cost 162 yen including tax. They also offer other flavors like kiwi, lemon, and azuki bean. The daifuku is palm-sized and yellow in color. My impression is that the chocolate flavor is rich and the banana filling is delicious. It is cool and refreshing, perfect for a hot summer snack. Enjoy!

I passed by a traditional Japanese confectionery shop that was bustling with customers, so I couldn't resist buying something. I ended up getting an an-filled kinako ohagi. The kinako powder was piled up like a mountain and they scooped it out from the middle to put in a box for me. It was delicious! It had a familiar taste that made me feel at ease. The kinako was fragrant and had a slightly coarse texture, so it wasn't too powdery. The sweetness was just right and it wasn't too salty. I also tried the mitarashi dango, which had a chewy texture with a slight char on the outside. The sauce had a nostalgic taste to it as well. It was simple yet delicious. I think the wagashi (Japanese sweets) department of the famous depachika store Kakiyasu has some tasty treats. I'll definitely go back for more.

Whenever I go to shopping malls in Osaka or Fukuoka, I always see Kofukudo. Each time, I feel the urge to eat, but I always tell myself, "I can also get it at Nana Michi Aeon!" and resist the temptation to buy it. However, I finally visited the Sakai Teyuhommachi store and excitedly went to buy some (even though I had already visited other stores). There were rows of delicious-looking and reasonably priced traditional Japanese sweets. I carefully chose some items to save money. I ended up choosing the Kinako Dango for 75 yen and the Sakura Mochi for 151 yen, totaling 226 yen. I was satisfied with the prices. They generously sprinkled kinako powder on the Kinako Dango. I quickly made some hot tea to enjoy with the sweets. The Kinako Dango was soft and the kinako had a strong sweetness but not overwhelming. I wished I had bought one more. The Sakura Mochi, although slightly small, had a cute cherry blossom petal on top. The shiny and beautiful mochi rice had a chewy texture. The anko filling was not too sweet, making it easy to eat. Finally, I was able to enjoy these traditional Japanese sweets. I also tried the strawberry Daifuku and warabi mochi.

It is a Japanese confectionery store located in Ion Mall Sakai Tetsuhommachi. They always had my attention but I had never bought anything from there before... (sweat) Mouthful-do is good at presentation! The generous amount of kinako (toasted soybean flour) and the big strawberry on top of the daifuku make their delicious Japanese sweets irresistible. The kinako dango has a chewy and slightly elastic texture, and it's delicious with plenty of kinako on top! The prices are also affordable, making it easy to buy a variety of delicious Japanese sweets.
