I entered a food stall in Tenjin for the first time. It's great that they are open until midnight, as many stalls close at 11pm. The menu includes ramen, motsunabe (offal hot pot), yakitori, yamaimo (mountain yam) teppanyaki, and more. You can enjoy Hakata's specialties here. The ramen is 600 yen and has a light Hakata flavor with a nice balance of saltiness. The mentaiko (spicy cod roe) omelette is delicious at 800 yen. Even in the summer, food stalls are enjoyable. This Hakata stall is perfect for a second stop. It's a great way to end the night. Thank you for the meal!

First time experiencing a street food stall in the city! Went to a stall near my friend Kawa's company around 6:40 pm, the shop was still preparing but since I'm a regular, they asked me to wait inside. After about 10 minutes, the shop was ready! We started with a toast and ordered a skewer platter. The presentation was stylish! Had a fun street food party with 5 people! By 7 pm, the place was packed with about 12-13 people! The most surprising thing for me was the bottle chu-hi (shochu highball), apparently it's a staple in Hakata. It's true that alcohol tastes better in an unfamiliar city. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The first stop was at an izakaya to have a good drink... On the way back towards the night streets of Tenjin... Oh? Quite a few food stalls are out! Personally, one of the things I like about Fukuoka is its food stall culture... Not just the atmosphere, but also making friends with the neighbors! Thinking about that, I felt like making a detour before catching the last train, passing by a few full stalls, and heading to this one that had seats available! The seating was only at a counter in a U-shape that could fit about 8 people! Looking at the menu... I had eaten quite a bit, so I decided to go easy on the second stop... - Grilled dumplings (450 yen) - Pork belly (100 yen) x2 - Bottled beer (600 yen) x2, while saying that, I ended up drinking two bottles of beer... The grilled dumplings had a nice crispy texture with a well-seared surface, and the filling was full of umami, pairing perfectly with the bottled beer! The pork belly was cut into chunks with a nice chewy texture... with onions in between, you could also taste a hint of sweetness from the vegetables! It was seasoned well, and when washed down with beer, it was pure bliss... And above all, the atmosphere of the food stalls added to the enjoyment! I was able to fully enjoy the unique charm of Fukuoka! Thank you for the meal!

After a long time, I went to a food stall with my friend. We drank beer and had yakitori, gyoza, and ramen. Oh man, everything was delicious! The ramen was light and just the way I like it. As expected, ending the night with ramen at a food stall is the best. We had a great night, drinking and eating to our hearts' content.

I found a shop in the Tenjin area while wandering around in the evening. Despite overeating at a previous shop, I felt it had a nice atmosphere so I decided to order yakitori even though my stomach was full. You can order just one skewer at a time, and it was delicious! They have a wide variety of options.

There was a food stall with great ventilation, so I decided to visit. I ordered a dish called "Nira-tama" and a grilled egg with cod roe. It was interesting to see the cooking happening right in front of me. The "Nira-tama" was still soft and gooey, which was nice. The grilled egg with cod roe took a bit of time to come out, but it was worth the wait. The saltiness of the cod roe added a delicious touch while eating the egg.

A little time has passed, but here is the continuation of the night tour in Hakata (^-^)ゞ After leaving the chicken broth oden and yakitori restaurant "Toridouan," we headed from Haruyoshi to the food stalls in Tenjin, towards Kawachan. Along the way, a few stalls were clustered in front of Tenjin Daimaru... It's been 3 years since I last visited Kawachan. First, as always, we toasted with beer and oolong tea. It was great to catch up with the master whom I hadn't seen in a while. We ordered the mentaiko tamagoyaki. It not only looked beautiful but also had a fluffy texture and great flavor. Whenever I come here, I always order it. The negi tamago, served on a hot iron plate, cooked perfectly with residual heat. Two hot water mixed drinks to ward off the night chill. Since we were already full from Toridouan, we finished with dried squid as a snack... We bid farewell to the master and regular customers, leaving Kawachan behind. It was a night in Hakata with good food and drinks (^-^)ゞ Kawachan's master, who used to be a police officer and then became an owner of a food stall, has an unusual background. He is also featured in his wife's e-book series "Mama Detective Ritsuko's Case Files 2 & 3," and they are considering a new installment where the master may once again play a role (laughs). Unlike Nakasu, the food stalls in Tenjin have many regular customers. The stalls serve as a connection point where daily lives intertwine, naturally leading to conversations. I heard that there are several couples who met at these stalls and eventually got married. Meeting occasionally in such a small space like a food stall may naturally lead to getting to know each other and becoming more comfortable.

After watching a baseball game at the dome, we headed to Tenjin. My companion wanted to try out some food stalls, so we decided to go. However, they were quite drunk, so I was a bit worried. We walked and finally found a place called "Kawa-chan." We ordered some beers, and I also got some ramen and a few other dishes. While waiting for the food to arrive, I gave my companion some instructions about the restroom, but I'm not sure if they were listening. I warned them that if they got lost, I would leave them behind. When the ramen arrived, my companion said, "That looks delicious, give me a bite." I had specifically told them I didn't want to share when ordering (annoyed). I reluctantly handed over the bowl first, and they ended up eating the whole thing, saying it was "so delicious!" I was upset since they had taken away my enjoyment. I ended up ordering an extra serving of noodles for myself. The ramen at Kawa-chan is indeed delicious, but it was frustrating to have my food taken away. We also had some roasted soybeans as a snack while drinking beer and chatting with other customers. My companion, who tried other dishes, was impressed and said, "The food here is really high quality." The other customers also recommended the place, saying, "You can't go wrong here." We had a great time, got properly drunk, and headed back to the hotel. The total cost for the two of us was 5,000 yen today. We definitely drank too much (laughs).

Everything is delicious! Especially the mentaiko tamagoyaki is incredibly delicious! This is a super popular food stall in Hakata.

After discovering the fun of food stalls, I started going to Hakata occasionally to have a drink. Without a single unpleasant face, my wife accompanies me to have a tea time at the Afternoon Tea on the 6th floor of AMU City as a penance (laughs). This time of year, the special strawberry menu seems to be popular. The illuminated trees lining the streets. It would have been even more beautiful if it were a little darker... Finally, the destination of the day, the food stall "Kawa-chan" in Tenjin. Master Kawa-chan is a former police officer. He also appears in my wife's e-book "Mom Detective Ritsuko's Case Files 2" (laughs). To celebrate the release of the new book in which Kawa-chan plays a role, we first toasted with beer and cassis orange. We ordered several skewers such as pork belly wrapped in shiso, tomato wrapped in bacon, gizzard, and tsukune with a good texture. Whenever I come here, I always order the mentaiko (spicy cod roe) omelet. It is a dish with excellent taste and appearance, a speciality that the master is particular about. With meat, fish... the variety of dishes here is unbelievable for a food stall. The amberjack collar grilled on the skewer was also beautifully grilled. The fluffy grated yam and okra teppanyaki with plenty of eggs. The soy sauce drizzled along the edge of the iron plate is fragrant and nice. Teppanyaki of pork belly and bean sprouts. Kimchi is a nice accent. The small food stall is always full of regular customers. Among those who joined us on this day, there were also people I had met here before, so we had a lively conversation on various topics. Whether you know each other or not, the everyday life of each person is connected through Kawa-chan as a common point, and conversations naturally flow, which I think is the fun of food stalls. Unfortunately, this day was a day trip, so we reluctantly left Kawa-chan after 10 o'clock (^-^)ゞ As it was going to be late at night, I had already gotten a Hakata souvenir that my wife, who loves sweets, cannot do without. This time, I chose the roll cake from Ron Poan, not the salted caramel from last time, but the espresso limited to Hakata. Full of fragrant walnuts. It has a powerful profile with a rough texture (^-^)ゞ Thanks to the warm weather continuing from the latter half of last week, this weekend is a perfect day for cherry blossom viewing. Many people must be looking forward to it. As we head towards early summer, it will be a pleasant season.

Met up with friends and watched a live show at Marine Messe before leisurely walking to Nakasu. All the food stalls in Nakasu were crowded with long lines, so we decided to head to Tenjin instead. We strolled around the food stalls in Tenjin, trying to decide where to eat, and eventually followed our instincts to a place called "Kawachan." It was already full of regular customers, but they kindly told us to wait a bit as they were about to leave. Other regulars helped clear tables and make space for us. The young owner swiftly prepared our order of jyako tempura and steamed clams with sake. We enjoyed our beer with the crispy tempura and delicious clams. The grilled beef tongue we ordered was thick and tender, perfectly seasoned. As we chatted and drank, we were bombarded with questions from other customers, curious about us. It turned out one of the regulars was a chef who ran a Japanese restaurant nearby. We switched to sweet potato shochu on the rocks and were recommended to try the ramen. It was a classic tonkotsu ramen with a rich and smooth soup, firm noodles, and no unpleasant smell. We finished every last drop of the soup and even ordered extra noodles. Everyone agreed it was delicious. Before we knew it, it was already past the last train time. It was my first time at a food stall, and I had a great time at this delicious and fun place. I definitely want to come back again.
