☑️ Right next to Fukushima Station, a red lantern-style kushikatsu place ☑️ The kushikatsu is delicious, and the side dishes are amazing too ☑️ The owner, who runs the place alone, is kind and wonderful -------------------------------------【Today's Highlight】◎ Dashi yudofu bubbling hot. The dashi is fantastic. The yudofu with a light coating soaked in dashi is delicious and warming, and the cost performance is unbeatable. Of course, the kushikatsu was also delicious!! -------------------------------------【Today's Food Experience】We were wandering around near Fukushima Station and happened to stumble upon this restaurant. When we entered, the owner was running the place alone, and the restaurant was almost full with four groups of customers. We initially sat at the counter to eat, but when the other customers left, the owner kindly moved us to a table in front of the stove, saying, "This area doesn't smell like smoke." It seemed like they considered our comfort as non-smokers, and we were happy about it! (Honestly, it was really cold, haha) As mentioned before, the kushikatsu and side dishes were delicious and impressive. For this food experience, 3,800 yen was too cheap!! I visited around 9 pm on Saturday and was able to enjoy freshly fried kushikatsu at the counter seats. Everything was delicious, but the cherry tomatoes were especially good with their increased sweetness.

The chicken skewers are delicious, especially the garlic-flavored chicken tenderloin. It goes perfectly with alcohol. The shrimp is also amazing, with a crispy texture that is incredibly tasty!

After work, I got off at Fukushima station and met up with a junior colleague for dinner. When I asked if he knew Fukushima well, he replied, "Actually, I know more about the Taisho era." I couldn't understand the strange answer he gave. I usually wander around the narrow streets near Naniwa, but today I decided to explore the west side. I headed to Seiten Street, a shopping street west of JR Fukushima station. It's a quiet area with plenty of great shops. Today, I visited "Kushikatsu Banzai." The sign outside advertised "Draft Beer for 290 yen," which caught my attention. It's as cheap as Passionate Hormone! Not that I was lured by the price, but it's a great deal for beer lovers. The slim counter seats and tables near the entrance were almost full. The friendly young female staff welcomed us, while the master was busy in the kitchen frying skewers. The place seems quite popular, so I assume the master has many fans. I enjoyed a refreshing Asahi Super Dry draft beer for 290 yen. It was perfect on a hot day. Now, let's eat! We ordered various skewers, such as cucumber with spicy sauce for 290 yen, shiitake mushroom tofu for 290 yen, quail for 150 yen, lotus root for 120 yen, salmon tartare for 180 yen, beef skewer for 120 yen, red sausage for 120 yen, and asparagus for 180 yen. Each skewer was delicious, with good quality oil, and I especially liked the salmon tartare. I also had some chu-hai lemon for 380 yen and oolong highball for 400 yen. It's an affordable and enjoyable place to eat. I'll definitely visit again. However, my junior colleague kept ordering skewers without listening to me, so I ended up splitting the bill out of frustration. How ironic! I guess I'm a bit of a slacker too... There's not much of a punchline, so that's the end.

I visited this restaurant because the skewer restaurant I was planning to go to was closed. As soon as I sat down, they offered me a wet towel and immediately asked for my drink order. I felt pressured to decide quickly. When the drink arrived, they pushed me to order more. Despite the service, I tried to relax and waited for the skewers. They served beef, shrimp, asparagus, quail, salmon tartare, etc. The overall taste was okay, but I expected a bit more considering the price. I think for a chain restaurant, it was average. I hope they can improve their overall quality. Thank you for the meal.

The face of a jumping tiger symbolizes something! Is it because this is Osaka? Osaka is known for the Hanshin Tigers, right? Just like how Hanshin Tigers and the two-dip prohibition of kushikatsu and Rokawa people... it's like a room, a Y-shirt, and me... or so it seems (is that so?). It truly tells the story of being in the city of Naniwa! - Dashimaki (rolled omelette) - 390 yen A light yet flavorful dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) that brings back memories. Who would have imagined ordering dashimaki and beer on an empty stomach at a kushikatsu restaurant? The whiteboard with "Today's limited dashimaki" written on it is a must-order item! Kushikatsu... - Beef kushikatsu - 120 yen - Chicken nanban - 180 yen - Crunchy tsukune (chicken meatball) - 150 yen - Ham katsu - 150 yen - Asparagus - 180 yen - Cheese tomato - 180 yen - Fried mochi - 120 yen A unique lineup of kushikatsu that makes you want to try everything! The beef kushikatsu is a must-have, the ham katsu brings tears to the eyes of the older generation, the crunchy tsukune with crushed cartilage is amazing, the asparagus is always deep-fried to perfection, and the chicken nanban with tartar sauce and sweet and savory sauce is a hit with this old man's taste buds. The cheese and tomato kushikatsu in Caprese style delighted the Italian old man's palate! However, among all of these, the one that truly captured this old man's heart... is you! (Hey) Wait... who?? Actually, there's only one item that I didn't write about! (Busted) It's the fried mochi!! (Caught red-handed) It's not jealousy! Even though this old man may be popular with the ladies, it's not good to make them jealous all the time (monotone) The fried mochi... it's not dipped in sauce but sprinkled with sugar soy sauce and comes with a separate sauce, unlike the tartar sauce or mayonnaise that usually accompanies kushikatsu. While there are other kushikatsu that come with separate sauce dishes at this restaurant, the sugar soy sauce is quite innovative and delightful! When it comes to mochi, it's sugar soy sauce!! (firmly) Well, there may be mixed opinions, but this old man has been enjoying grilled mochi with sugar soy sauce for 52 years now! No matter what anyone says, it's sugar soy sauce! That's why I was so happy with this fried mochi - just this one item made the trip here worthwhile!

In Fukushima, I met up with a friend and visited a restaurant based on a review from a reviewer who is good at reviewing Fukushima. It was early on a Saturday, but the tables were already full. There were tatami seating in the back that could fit 6-8 people, tables for 4-6 near the entrance, and several counter seats and tables for 2. Asahi beer was 290 yen and the skewers were a bit pricey, but each ingredient was large so it was worth it. The batter was thin and not too sweet, with a shiso leaf on the skewers. The skewer set of 5 was 1050 yen, and we ordered 8-10 more. Even though we had a decent amount of beer, the total bill came to 4000 yen. It was strange to see multiple Tatsunii (mascot) faces in different places. It seems like a good place for a quick drink rather than lingering. Oh, maybe people don't stay long at skewer restaurants, haha.

On this day, I was feeling hungry before going to Fukushima's favorite bar, so I decided to look for a place to eat heartily. I took a stroll through the Seiten-dori shopping street, which I don't usually visit. And I found a flashy red lantern! Looking at the menu, it seemed like a skewered cutlet shop. When I checked this restaurant on Tabelog, there were only 3 reviews, and there hadn't been any new reviews for over a year. It was surprising to see that in Fukushima, one of Osaka's top gourmet spots. Despite my concerns, I decided to go in because a top reviewer in Fukushima, Ash-van, had given it a good rating. The interior of the restaurant had a counter with 7 seats, two 4-seater tables, one 2-seater table, and a sunken kotatsu table that could seat up to 6 people at the back. It didn't have a particularly stylish feel, but the simple decor was neat and likable. I sat at a 2-seater table and ordered a draft beer. The draft beer was Super Dry and cost ¥290, which was cheap and convenient for someone like me who enjoys beer. Looking at the menu, skewered cutlets were the main items, ranging from ¥100 to ¥180, which was reasonable. I started with a skewer assortment (5 skewers). I also ordered three recommended side dishes other than skewered cutlets. - Super Dry draft beer ¥290 - Skewer assortment ¥700 (beef skewer, shrimp, pork cutlet, vegetable (shishito pepper), red wiener) - Tuna and egg potato salad ¥350 - Beef tendon ¥390 - Simmered sardines with plum ¥380 The skewer assortment arrived, and the skewered cutlets, fried to a golden brown, were generally large in size. When dipped in the sauce and eaten, they were surprisingly delicious! They were crispy and fried just right, with a perfect balance of thickness in the batter and a good amount of filling. Moreover, the sauce was quite tasty! The sauce itself had a strong umami flavor, with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity that complemented the skewered cutlets well. The beef and pork meat were of good quality and tender, and the red wiener was also delicious. The shrimp was thick and satisfying to eat. The other side dishes, such as beef tendon and potato salad, were standard, but the simmered sardines with plum was light and tasty. After that, I added 7 more skewers! - Skewers (7 skewers) total ¥1,050 (kisu shiso, pickled ginger, quail egg, salmon, crunchy minced meat, scallop with salt, onion) The additional skewers were all crispy and delicious, with just the right amount of batter thickness. The kisu shiso and scallop with salt were delicious when eaten with salt, but they might have been even better with sauce. This sauce was perfect for skewered cutlets and really delicious! The staff's service was good, and the owner was also a nice person. I only had two draft beers this time, but the total bill was about ¥3,500. There are still hidden gem restaurants like this in Fukushima, it seems. Amazing Fukushima! Thank you for the meal!

Hello, this is Imam, the manager of the gourmet pork izakaya Tonseiya in Osaka Fukushima. I was introduced to this place by the owner of a nearby izakaya called Shinmachi Kaiten, and I must say, the kushikatsu here is absolutely delicious. The kushikatsu here is both affordable and generously sized, which goes against my preconceived notions about kushikatsu places. The sauce is also delicious, with a perfect balance of richness, sweetness, and acidity. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and the menu offers a variety of options, including a tempting kushikatsu assortment. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and would highly recommend it to others.

I felt like having a drink in Fukushima, so I decided to stop by BANZAI, where I saw a sign for a one-coin set. This one-coin set can be used at any time and includes a drink and three assorted skewers. I chose a draft beer (normally 290 yen) for my drink. The assorted skewers included quail eggs (150 yen), shishamo (120 yen), and cherry tomatoes (120 yen), making it quite a good deal. The table had a sauce container with a no double-dipping rule, and there was cabbage as well, just like in Shinsekai. It's a hidden gem, so you can relax here. I also ordered asparagus and shiitake mushrooms as extras (and more beer, of course). It's great that the beer is reasonably priced. This place is perfect for a quick drink. Before my visit, there was only one review with a rating of 3.00 stars, but I personally rate it as 2.0 stars.

[Sat, February 18, 2012] 串かつBANZAI Theme: ♪ Cozy dining at Hinata Next, we visited the restaurant "串かつBANZAI" located at 1F, Demizu Building, 7-5-15 Fukushima, Fukushima-ku, Osaka. It is near the standing bar "酒味菜彩びぜん" and the okonomiyaki restaurant "お福ちゃん". The interior of the restaurant is cozy with table seating. We ordered the One Coin Set which includes a drink like Makgeolli. Double dipping of the sauce is not allowed. The cabbage kushikatsu came in three pieces, and we also tried beef skewers, horse mackerel, and smelt.
