I visited "The Buffet Daimaru Sapporo" on June 17th. It was my first visit this year. This buffet-style all-you-can-eat restaurant is quite popular in Sapporo. It is located on the 8th floor of Daimaru, directly connected to Sapporo Station. Due to the pandemic, I hadn't visited for a while, so it was my first visit in 2 years. I drove there and parked at the Sapporo Station North Exit underground parking lot, but I'm not sure if they have a partnership for parking. Today's visit was for dinner at 19:20 with 3 people. We chose the "Light Course" for 2380 yen and added the "Drink Bar" for 290 yen. There is also a "Standard Course" for 2880 yen which includes sushi, but we opted for the Light Course. They explained the COVID-19 measures, such as wearing disposable gloves and masks when getting food, and using a new cup at the drink bar each time. Since it was a Friday, they informed us of the 120-minute time limit for dining. I noticed that if we had entered after 8:00 PM, there was a 60-minute short course available for 1980 yen until the end of the month. The plates were all the same round shape, unlike before when they had square plates with slits. For the first dish, we had various items including Teriyaki Chicken, Grilled Cheese, Cheese Baked Hamburg, Yam Nyom Chicken, Sweet and Sour Egg, and Fried Rice. I was surprised by the softness of the Cheese Baked Hamburg. The Yam Nyom Chicken had just the right amount of spiciness. We also tried the Gapa Rice, a Thai dish, and found it to be pleasantly spicy. I was amused by the presence of Soba noodles in the buffet. The second dish featured Roast Beef, which was slightly thicker than I prefer. The third dish included a Japanese-style pasta, a Tomato Cream Pasta with Shrimp and Romanesco, and a Broccoli and Tomato Genovese Pizza. For the fourth dish, we had Fried White Fish, Thick Omelette, Kinpira Gobo, and another Cheese Baked Hamburg. The White Fish Fry had a nice crispy texture near the skin. The fifth dish was a selection of fruits, a small Cream Puff, Berry Roll Cake, Panna Cotta, and Strawberry. The dessert options were all delicious. Lastly, we had a salad assortment, which had fewer varieties than before. The Asian Sweet Chili dressing was a nice addition. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and the variety of dishes offered at the buffet.
