I went to eat the sashimi and tempura set meal for 1,078 yen (tax included) recommended by a colleague at work. Both the sashimi and tempura were delicious! It came with tofu and red miso soup. The freshly cooked rice was especially amazing. The restaurant was spacious and had a nice atmosphere, so I would like to go back to eat there again.

We used the course meal for a face-to-face meeting, but one person was in charge of serving two private rooms alone, and the staff were overwhelmed, causing the food to be served very slowly. The Calpis was very strong and the soda in the highball was very weak. We chose the restaurant based on the reputation, but it was a bit disappointing, so I don't think I will go back again.

Have dinner around Sonezaki area. Avoiding restaurants with many young people, I went to "Ganko" which has a calm atmosphere. Sat at a table on the first floor. Started with sashimi of "mebaru" and "yari ika" from the fresh fish menu. The aroma of the seared mebaru and the crunchy texture of the yari ika were delicious! It's nice that they also have "kushikatsu" (deep-fried skewers). The "tonpeiyaki" looks like a tamagoyaki (rolled omelette) at first glance, but the taste is definitely "tonpeiyaki". The service was pleasant, and although there was a minor issue, the response to it was excellent, and I had an enjoyable meal.

My classmates from school gathered in Umeda! There were only three of us, but we went to my favorite restaurant, Ganko Sushi. We usually go to a different restaurant, but today we tried "Ganko Sushi Sonezaki Honten" for the first time. When we arrived, the staff gave us a service voucher. I told them that I am a fan of this restaurant and will definitely come back. The sashimi at Ganko Sushi is always delicious, and the sashimi platter at this restaurant was also very tasty! The skewers and salads were delicious too! We wanted a private room, but there wasn't one available, so they seated us in a quiet area where we could enjoy our drinks and chat with friends. We visited a chain restaurant recommended by my partner. The place was very clean and not crowded. We enjoyed a toast with highball and tried fried foods like sesame mackerel and doteyaki, typical of Osaka. Thank you for the feast!

Today, the Osaka Welcome Campaign has started from November 24th. I, as an Osaka resident, benefited from the campaign by staying at Hotel Kansai with a GanKo meal voucher worth 5000 yen. It was a miscalculation, but I found out that the meal voucher can be used until the check-out date. I tried various dishes such as sukiyaki set. The portion was amazing. It was incredibly delicious.

It's been a while since I last visited Ganko Sushi. Perhaps due to the year-end, the restaurant was not very crowded. It had been a long time since I had sushi, and this time there was a wide variety of options to choose from. The selection of drinks seemed extensive as well. One great thing about this place is that you can order sushi one piece at a time. Everything I tried was delicious. When I ordered Botan Ebi, they even grilled the head, which was a nice touch. The total bill came to around 6,000 yen, which may be a bit pricey for one person, but since I only come a few times a year, it's worth it. If I have the chance, I will definitely visit again.

Company-related New Year's party was held on January 21, 2020. There were 20 men in attendance, seated in a private room on the 5th floor. The seating was on chairs where shoes were removed (senior members required chairs). The venue was non-smoking, with towels provided, and the restroom was located immediately to the left upon exiting the room. The course included Tsuyu pork shabu-shabu and sushi set with all-you-can-drink for 5,000 yen per person. The event started at 5:30 pm and everyone arrived on time for the cheers with bottled beer. The food included: 1. Assorted sashimi (pre-prepared) 2. Tsuyu pork shabu-shabu (sweet dipping sauce) 3. Grilled chicken and meat (served cold) 4. Fried dishes 5. Sushi for the finale. Drinks included bottled beer, hot sake, cold sake, highball, shochu, etc., with orders relayed through senior members causing a bit of chaos. It was a fun party. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to have a delicious meal to start off the new year, so I was wandering around and stumbled upon a restaurant with a great atmosphere and a wide variety of menu options. Since it was close to the last order time, I decided to order right away. I really wanted to have sushi and shabu-shabu, and I was very satisfied with my choices! Some sushi items were sold out, but I understood that it was the beginning of the year and the timing was a factor. Since there weren't many other customers at that time, the dishes came out quite quickly. All the dishes were delicious and I was very satisfied with the portion sizes and prices. We had about two drinks each for two people. The total bill was around 16,000 yen. The service was not bad, but maybe a little more attention to detail could have been nice, considering it was getting late and things were a bit hectic. There were no rude staff members. I would like to visit again in the future!

I went for lunch because I wanted to eat yellowtail shabu-shabu. The course also includes tempura and sashimi, so you can enjoy a variety of dishes. I'm not a big fan of yellowtail shabu-shabu, so the portion was just right for me. It's nice to be able to enjoy a variety of seasonal dishes little by little.

When there is a large group gathering, this restaurant is often used, especially when there are over 30 people. This time, we brought guests, so we had a slightly better course meal than usual. It was the Sushi Kaiseki Chitose no Tsuki course. The meal included Chitose tray, soup, sashimi, nimono, oshinogi, taimono, agemono, wanmono, sushi, clear soup, and dessert. I have no idea which dish is which, haha. It's amazing how all these dishes are smoothly served. However, the quality of the food may suffer, such as not being as hot as usual. The spacious environment allows the meal to progress on time. That's the charm of this restaurant.

I attended the company's alumni association New Year's party as a general assistant. There were many people celebrating various milestone birthdays, such as turning 60, 70, 77, and even 80! The event was attended by 16 men, and we were seated in a private room on the third floor. We had to remove our shoes at the entrance and there were separate smoking areas and restrooms for men and women. The meal for the day seemed to be a course menu featuring buckwheat soba and tea-infused pork shabu-shabu with all-you-can-drink option for 5,000 yen. We started with a toast with bottled beer, as draft beer was not available. The food included bite-sized appetizers, sashimi, shabu-shabu, tempura, sushi, soup, and dessert. Although the portion sizes were suitable for elderly guests, the overall service was lacking as the staff were difficult to locate for drink orders. Overall, the experience was underwhelming.

I went to Ganko Sushi at Ohatsu Tenjin for a hot pot meal. Although it was busy and everywhere required reservations, the manager kindly found us a seat. We ordered the Teppanyaki course for 3980 yen, which was delicious. The meal included fugu skin hot pot, fugu sashimi, and fugu rice porridge. It's been a while since I visited Ganko with my junior colleague. The atmosphere is more like an izakaya than a sushi restaurant, with lively greetings echoing inside. The dish arrives steaming hot, so be careful, they warn as they serve it. The small pot contains tonkatsu simmering in broth. The rice bowl is quite generous in size. Ding! A light bulb went off in my head. I can just make my own katsudon... I'm a genius~ The volume of the katsu-toji is more than I expected. Two pieces of tonkatsu on top of rice with broth poured over it. One, two, three bites and it's gone. Haha. The slightly sweet broth and the soft, well-soaked coating are best enjoyed by slurping it up with a spoon. My junior colleague finishes his sushi set quickly. I wandered around and entered the restaurant. They were having a tuna fair, so I ordered a seared tuna sushi roll soba set and some fresh oysters. The oysters were large and delicious, especially when eaten with ponzu sauce. The seared tuna sushi roll was also tasty, so I will definitely go back again.
