This rice cracker set is so good that I think the person who came up with it is a genius. It comes in small individual packs, with 3 types of rice crackers, 3 types of chocolate rice crackers, and chocolate included, and I love that it doesn't have the sweetened rice cracker. The set with pecan nut chocolate is also incredibly delicious.

Kokurayamaso in Kyoto is a famous sweets shop known for its senbei crackers. In particular, their Sagano-yaki senbei, which is brushed with mirin soy sauce while being baked, is very delicious. It has a refined taste, not overly sweet like sugar. Also, pay attention to the tanka poem written on the back of the packaging.

This rice cracker is often given as a gift between companies, as a gift for relatives at a funeral, or as a return gift for celebrations within a group. It has a crispy texture, with a sweet and salty flavor, and each piece is individually packaged. It is on par with the rice crackers from H***ya. Compared to H***ya, the seasoning is more subtle and elegant, with a pleasant aroma from the seaweed sprinkled on top. It has a more upscale feel, suitable for being sold in department stores (while H***ya is sold in their own stores or online). I always thought it was made in Saga-yaki, but it's actually made by Saga-no. Oh, really?

When I stopped by the store, I couldn't decide what to get. Today, I went with something salad-flavored. The light taste is just right. When you want to try a variety of things, there are also small packets available, which I recommend. Thank you for the meal today ☺️

I was able to purchase the assortment at Okurayama-so during their Thanksgiving event. Since I was traveling in the Kansai region, I decided to buy it here instead of lining up for the assortment day at Nagoya Takashimaya. I got two bags of Saga-yaki because it's surprisingly difficult to carry back.

I bought a variety pack of rice crackers! There were so many types of rice crackers to choose from, but I decided to go with this assortment. Many people love rice cracker rolls! They are delicious, aren't they? I personally prefer simple rice crackers!

There are various types to choose from, so I was indecisive again this time, but today I chose the fried ones. Once I start eating this rice cracker, I can't stop. It's crispy and the size is just right. Thank you for the delicious meal today ☺️

It's a delicious dish with a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The nori adds a nice touch, enhancing the flavor of the oil. Another satisfying meal, thank you! ☺️

Popular rice cracker and senbei shop, Kokurayamaso. It can be found in various department stores, but at Takashimaya in Namba, they offer a special deal on the 5th and 20th of each month with a jumbo pack for ¥400 (excluding tax). This time, I chose the "Saga no Yaki" flavor! It looks like onigiri senbei at first glance. Perfect for enjoying at home. It's packed with small pieces that are hard to find. The bonito flavor is incredibly rich! It contains both bonito flakes extract and bonito extract (lol). I ended up eating half of it in one go. How many bowls of rice would that be?? (sweat) They also have other flavors like "Teika no Tsuki" salad senbei, made with wasanbon sugar, "Kokura Meigetsu" fried senbei in soy sauce and salt flavors, a total of 6 varieties! I tend to buy the fried ones more often lol. They also have weekly events at Hankyu Department Store, "Kurozo" has more information on that. They also have a tea house called "Kumomura-an" in Nishinomiya Hankyu, which is actually Kokurayamaso. I wonder if "Meigetsu Charyo" is still at Hankyu Department Store selling Ajari mochi-style wagashi. There is also a tea house in Minoh called "Minoh Goryoryo". I wonder if they still have "ARARE: Chocola 43", a collaboration of arare and chocolate. Check out Kuro-nyan's Instagram here. Please follow. Support click please. Tabelog gourmet blog ranking. And if you click on the link of the article and come back, that would be amazing ♡

Senbei and okaki are my favorite at Kokurayamaso. They have a wide variety of options and each one is delicious. I especially enjoy the fried senbei from Kokura Meigetsu, and the small arare pack from Ogura San Shunju allows you to taste different flavors at once.

I also like Bokuraya, but Kokurayamaso is honestly a favorite of mine as well. What I received this time was Kokura Meigetsu fried senbei! They are finished with sweet soy sauce. Flavors like this make me grateful to be Japanese. Fried senbei are quite popular and can be found everywhere, but the sweet soy sauce is what makes it special! It's like they took the simple "bonchi age" and gave it an elegant touch with the seasoning. I only intended to have one piece, but ended up eating three in a row. I hold up the senbei to the sky! Yes... I unintentionally imitated my beloved "Cappuccino" once again. I hope there is no patent for cappuccino shots! (distant gaze)

I often use Ogura Sanso for omiyage (souvenirs) lol. This time, I bought "Karuta Asobi" which is 115g and comes in 44 packs. The price is 525 yen. It includes 10 flavors: purple sweet potato, salted fish, shrimp, aosa seaweed, sweet soy sauce, maple, yuzu honey, matcha, curry, and salad. Each pack has a cute design with a Hyakunin Isshu (One Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets) theme. The flavors are all quite strong. My husband likes the refreshing taste of yuzu honey (even though he doesn't like yuzu...), while I prefer maple and salted fish. I find the sweeter flavors more delicious than the salty ones. The sizes available are: 115g 44 packs 525 yen (simple packaging), 184g 70 packs 840 yen, 210g 80 packs 1050 yen (packaged in a box), 291g 110 packs 1575 yen, 397g 150 packs 2100 yen, and 610g 230 packs 3150 yen (packaged in a can). The shelf life for all options is about 2 months. The canned ones have a good volume. They are individually wrapped, making them great for gifts or tea snacks. Personally, I also like Ogura Meigetsu. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Coating arare with chocolate. It's delicious in taste, aroma, and texture. Arare with chocolate and special rock salt. Keep up the good work, Kokurayamaso. I also love other popular products like Teika no Tsuki, Kokura Meigetsu, and more. Takashimaya is the best place for me. Limited edition items, popular items, famous and unknown delicious foods. Everything is there. Generally, things that are not good for the body are delicious. If you worry too much, you won't be able to eat anything. I want to continue eating delicious food in the future.

This is my first review of a gift I received. It's the familiar Oyama Sanso rice cracker, the classic "Kokura Meigetsu". It's crispy, not greasy, and has just the right amount of soy sauce flavor. I could eat as many as I want. I received a pack of 13 "Kokura Meigetsu" rice crackers for 420 yen.

I received this as a souvenir from my workplace. When I first tried it, I was surprised to find black pepper in the rice crackers. I exclaimed, "Wow, it's spicy, what is this!" However, after looking at the individual packaging, I understood. Great job, Ogurasanso. Among the five flavors, this is my favorite with a unique taste. I immediately checked their website and bought it at Takashimaya Osaka store. I wish they would sell it with only black pepper.

"Teika no Tsuki Wasanbon Senbei" costs 500 yen per bag. It's like a high-end version of "Yuki no Yado," but it's really delicious. The crispy texture combined with the refined sweetness and saltiness of wasanbon sugar is exquisite! I don't usually buy it for home consumption, but I feel like I often have this senbei at home as a gift or as a return gift for Buddhist events. This time, I wanted to send 10 bags of Teika no Tsuki along with another item I bought at Takashimaya as a gift, but I was told that since it will be shipped directly from the factory in Kyoto, the shipping cost is separate from Takashimaya's. However, they offered to include the other item if I took it to the next sales floor, so I ended up paying just one shipping fee for everything (laughs).

The main item is rice crackers, but I bought cold zenzai because it's my mother's favorite. It is made with large grains of Tanba Dainagon adzuki beans. The sweetness is also moderate, which is nice. There is plenty of it, so you can feel satisfied. It's good as it is, but it becomes luxurious when you add homemade shiratama. It's nice that the adzuki beans are cooked softly enough to break a little. It can last for about 4 months at room temperature, which is convenient. It might be a good small souvenir for this time of year. Thank you for the meal.

"Oh, I came at a good time." On this day, there was a special sale event for the popular senbei from "Kokurayamaso" at the Takashimaya department store in Osaka. "Kokurayamaso" is a well-known traditional Japanese confectionery store based in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto, with stores mainly in the Kansai region. I have been buying their senbei since receiving them as a gift in the past. There is also a store in Takashimaya in Namba, Osaka, and on this day, there was a special sale event being held. The highlight of this event was the unsorted senbei. As the name suggests, these senbei are packaged without going through the sorting process, so there is a high chance of having many good pieces, different from the typical "broken" or "damaged" products. The taste is the same as the regular products, so if you are buying for yourself and not as a gift, the unsorted ones are definitely a better deal. Since I was running low on snacks at home, I decided to take this opportunity to buy some. I wanted to buy a variety, but I didn't want to carry too much, so I chose two types of senbei: "Saga no yaki" and "Teikano tsuki." "Saga no yaki" is a soy sauce-flavored senbei that has been around since the founding of the store, with a moderate sweetness and elegant taste. As for "Teikano tsuki," it usually comes in three flavors: salad, wasanbon sugar, and shrimp, but the unsorted version only has one flavor, and I chose salad this time. It has a light saltiness and is easy to eat, a taste that I think most people would enjoy. I, as a commoner, am very happy to be able to enjoy delicious senbei at a good price. I recommend everyone to take advantage of special sale events like this if you come across one.

【Kokurayamaso】's assortment of sweets, let's play Michelin (evaluate). Kokurayamaso is a specialty store for senbei and okaki located in Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture. I received an assortment called "Kyomiyo Koshi," which includes not only senbei and okaki but also Japanese jelly to enjoy. The senbei lineup includes the representative snack "Okurayama Shunju" and many others. This set is perfect for beginners to fully enjoy Kokurayamaso. Now, when I hear about a store specializing in senbei and okaki, the first thing that comes to mind is "Mochikichi," with its main store in Hakata. However, the sweets from Kokurayamaso left a different impression on me. In general, they are "gentle and elegant." Mochikichi's senbei and okaki are more like addictive snacks. On the other hand, the sweets from Kokurayamaso give the impression of being something you would serve as a tea snack to elderly people. The flavors are also milder compared to Mochikichi's more robust taste. Mochikichi also offers creative snacks like "Arare Crunch," making it more aggressive. Kokurayamaso, on the other hand, feels more conservative. This is just my personal impression after trying them a few times. The jelly has a mild sweetness and contains large simmered beans, giving it a refined touch. It seems like a luxurious treat to enjoy chilled with cold tea in the summer. Price-wise, Kokurayamaso is slightly more upscale than Mochikichi. Personally, if I were to choose for personal use, I might go for Mochikichi. However, it seems like they also have more affordable products like broken senbei, so I would like to visit their store if I come across one. This review is posted from a blog. I received a gift of a large can of rice crackers at work. When I opened the lid, I found a variety of rice crackers from a well-established brand inside. Among them, I picked out a bag with colorful contents and found a wide range of rice cracker varieties inside, from common types to rare ones, even including lotus root chips. I actually ended up finishing the whole bag by myself, but when I opened it in front of everyone, there was so much discussion about the different types inside. The purple rice crackers in particular stood out, maybe they were made from sweet potatoes. The sparkling colors beyond the seven colors were like a "jewelry box," as described on the website.
