I happened to stop by a traditional Japanese sweets shop across the road from the convenience store, feeling like it was fate. The shop had a relaxed, old-fashioned atmosphere. There were many different types of sweets, but I decided to buy one Ume no Hana and one Gyokuzan. They were both delicious, especially the Gyokuzan which had chestnut inside. It was amazing! I don't come to Fujiidera often, but when I do, I will definitely stop by again to buy more. Thank you!

Famous confectionery - Kawanishi Genji
It looks a bit like a mooncake. It is a baked confectionery with a diameter of over 10cm and a thickness of over 3cm. The filling consists of two layers - one with grainy sweet bean paste and the other with white bean paste, which is quite interesting. There are two types available, with or without a box, priced around 700 yen each. It's quite satisfying due to its volume.
Famous confectionery - Tamateyama Chestnut
It is a baked confectionery with chestnut wrapped in white bean paste. It has a familiar appearance and taste, making it a reliable and comforting snack.
Famous confectionery - Domyoji Sugiko
I thought it would have plum honey inside, but it actually contains chestnut in sweet bean paste wrapped in a steamed bun. It is delicious, but I still prefer the plum flavor.
Country-style miso-flavored steamed bun
This steamed bun has a hint of miso flavor in the skin part. It is a traditional local confectionery shop that has been around for a long time. While it may not stand out, such shops are still great. I hope they continue to thrive for a long time.
