Since being invited by Haruka Ayase, I've been watching "JIN" on Sundays since its final episode, as well as the digest before that, reruns, and even the first series... I've been watching all the recorded episodes continuously, skipping through the commercials. Haruka Ayase appears in both the main content and the sponsor's commercials. Watching her makes me crave... Kentucky Fried Chicken!! Since the nearest store in Narahara closed down, I usually visit the Nishi-Hachioji or Aeon Mall Hinode stores. The Nishi-Hachioji store is conveniently located near JR Nishi-Hachioji Station and the Koshu Kaido Oiwake intersection. I usually use the drive-thru with my car. Not only because of Haruka Ayase's influence, but also because it was "Torinohi" on the 28th. I received a coupon from Kentucky via email for "Torinohi," which is a play on words for the number 28 in Japanese. However, the Nishi-Hachioji store was not participating on the 28th, but on the 20th! Although the coupon stated "excluding some stores," I didn't realize this store was one of them. So, I couldn't enjoy the benefits of "Torinohi," but when the craving hits, the magic of Kentucky is strong! I bought Original Chicken 6 pieces and 2 Japanese-style Chicken Cutlet Sandwiches. The chicken was a bit tough and lacked juiciness, possibly due to takeout. The flavor of the coating was also mild, almost too thin. I asked for no mayonnaise in the Japanese-style Chicken Cutlet Sandwiches, as my eldest son dislikes mayonnaise. I'm not a fan of large amounts of mayonnaise either. But I feel like mayonnaise would complement this sandwich. Without mayonnaise, it felt a bit lacking. However, I still enjoyed it without mayonnaise. The sweetness of the cabbage stood out, and I thought it was delicious. Chain restaurants tend to have variations in taste, and while it may just be a coincidence, I felt that the chicken at the Nishi-Hachioji store was somewhat lacking in flavor. The Japanese-style Chicken Cutlet Sandwich passed the test and was delicious! Nonetheless, the power of Kentucky that makes me crave it from time to time is incredible.
