A café located in Osaka Station Front Building No. 1. Smoking allowed. While the popular café Mazura is a must-visit in Building No. 1, I wanted to try something different this time. I found this café hidden deep in the underground tenant area. It may be a bit hard to find at first glance. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the hand-drawn sign and the youthful staff. I ordered a blend coffee for 450 yen and a slice of cheesecake. The coffee was not too strong and easy to drink even black. The retro vibe of the sign contrasted with the possibly renovated interior. I visited during a quiet time, so the smoke from cigarettes didn't bother me much. The impression of the café may vary depending on the timing.

The atmosphere is retro and the background music in the store was playing on vinyl records. I ordered a toast set (toast + boiled egg + coffee) ☕ You can choose between normal size toast or thick cut, and I chose the thick cut. The toast was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The boiled egg had a dry yolk, which is perfect for those who like it that way. The location of the shop is in the back of the basement 2nd floor of the station building, giving it a hidden gem vibe. Definitely worth a visit! ✌️

When I entered the cafe, I was surprised to see that it was almost full. I was there for the French toast, which was my main goal. I didn't even notice that there was a cafe here before. The counter is non-smoking, but there is still a slight smell. The French toast was not like the typical French toast. It wasn't crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The texture was fine and dense, giving it a heavier feel compared to the usual French toast. I will try a different cake next time!

Lemon cake for ¥500 and premium blend coffee for ¥450 at a cafe located towards the back of the building in front of the station. The building has many famous cafes like Mazura and King of Kings, so it's always crowded there. This cafe felt like a hidden gem. I went there specifically for the summer limited edition lemon cake, which I had been eyeing on Instagram for a while. The cake exceeded my expectations! The slice was thicker than I thought, and you could really taste the lemon in both the sponge and the icing. It was so delicious, I was genuinely impressed. It even came with whipped cream, which was a nice touch. Although ordering a drink as well made the total close to ¥1000, which is a bit pricey for a cafe, the lemon cake was so good that I want to go back for more! I also want to try the three-color toast for breakfast. The cafe allows smoking and the seating area is not very spacious, so depending on where you sit, the smoke can be a bit strong, which is a slight downside.

Located on the 2nd basement floor of Osaka Station Front Building 1, it's a somewhat hidden gem with shuttered surroundings. Ordered the "Basque Cheesecake" and the "Fluffy Iced Cafe au Lait". Despite a miscalculation in the bill, both items tasted great. - Food & Taste: 3.6 The "Basque Cheesecake" is a cheesecake with a blackened exterior. The softest I've ever had, almost melting like a rare cheesecake. Surprisingly soft and rich in cheese flavor. The black outer part is not too hard, similar to a soft cookie crust. The "Fluffy Iced Cafe au Lait" arrived with a lot of foam (about the height of the glass surface). It was decent in taste, not too outstanding. No bitterness due to the milk, but adding the included syrup made it much tastier for those with a sweet tooth. - Service: 3.3 Seems to be run by two polite female staff members. They had a good grasp of the store and provided attentive service. - Atmosphere: 3.5 Due to the visit time, the area was full of closed shops with shuttered fronts. Quietly operating in the back, seemingly popular among those in the know. Love such hidden gems, so glad I decided to visit. The interior has a classic coffee shop feel with mostly small tables for two. A bit narrow, but there was a larger table in the back where a group of ladies were having a meeting. BGM was Bossa Nova. About 10 customers present during my visit. - Cost Performance: 3.0 The "Basque Cheesecake" costs 580 yen, and the "Fluffy Iced Cafe au Lait" costs 550 yen, totaling 1130 yen. No cake sets or discounts available, making it a bit pricey compared to other coffee shops. However, considering the high quality and location, it seems reasonable. - Drinks: Included in the above. There were a few other solo customers relaxing, and I also enjoyed a peaceful break for about an hour.

On the fifth Saturday, I thought that shop was closed even though it wasn't explicitly stated, so I took a break to adjust my schedule. As expected, it was closed and I couldn't go there in October after all. It seems that they will be adjusting their prices from November. The blend has a decent bitterness and richness. I had previously ruled out this place as the operating hours and regular holidays listed on Tabelog were outdated, but I happened to see that they were open on my way to the restroom in the first building. They are open on Saturdays, and their weekday hours have been extended. The coffee here has a nice bitterness that makes you smile. I recognized these coffee cups and plates from another place, and after a quick search by color, I found out they are Noritake dishes - Fitzgerald American bowls and plates for straight coffee, Mandelin G1 Special.

A café located in a corner of the Umeda underground shopping street. The interior is spacious and I enjoyed a delicious coffee. I eagerly awaited as they brewed it after I placed my order (◍•ᴗ•◍) It was a comforting space. I will visit again.

On weekdays only, a precious coffee shop that is open for business. The morning of a rare weekday off starts at the coffee shop "Moong". This is Moong. Other customers are all office warriors in suits who seem to be heading to work. The shop is quite spacious and it appears to be run by a single person, bustling around and looking busy. In the midst of it all, I managed to find a seat. When the staff noticed me, I raised my hand to let them know I was here. The staff responded with a polite greeting and quickly came over. "Sorry for not noticing you. Oh, I'll bring an ashtray right away." (I politely declined the ashtray) It seems like there are a lot of smokers here. I ordered the Egg Sandwich Morning for 650 yen (tax included), which is a reasonable price considering that the coffee, which is their specialty, starts at 450 yen. The egg sandwich that arrived was huge, with the bread being unusually thick. It reminded me of ordering curry rice at an Indian curry restaurant and getting a huge portion of rice. This seems to be a common occurrence. The key to my successful visit this time was sitting near the entrance to avoid the cigarette smoke, which allowed me to enjoy my coffee without any issues. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Side note 1: The shop is popular in the morning. Side note 2: I counted and found that the smoking rate was 90%. Side note 3: Of course, I was part of the 10% who do not smoke.

I stopped by this café in the first building for a coffee break. They had different coffees for each day of the week, so I ordered the Mocha Ethiopia. I also added some coffee jelly after seeing it on the menu. The Mocha Ethiopia had a refreshing aroma and taste, but as someone with a bit of a sweet tooth, I should have paired it with a cake. The coffee jelly had a slightly bitter taste. I sat at the counter seat and enjoyed a cozy moment.

After having a daytime drink, I took a break by drinking coffee at a Showa-era coffee shop located deep underground in the First Building. Despite thinking there would be few people, there were actually many salarymen, including regular customers. I understand the feeling that this kind of old-fashioned coffee shop is more calming than trendy cafes... You need this kind of place to temporarily unload the burden you always carry. Definitely coming back again.

The Osaka Station Building takes you back to the Showa era in an instant. Among the many cafes in the area, this one stands out for its simplicity. The unique cup monument emitting steam is perfect for Instagram photos. This cafe, run by a coffee sales company, offers a high-quality coffee menu using their own fresh coffee beans. Their signature dish, the "Three-Color Toast," allows you to choose three toppings from whipped cream, butter, cinnamon, marmalade, and strawberry jam, with options for thickness. The fluffy toast, creamy whipped cream, and flavorful jams create a simple and delicious taste.
