I visited Hanabusa Sushi in Sakai for new sushi exploration on the holiday in September (Autumn Equinox Day). I originally planned to visit another sushi restaurant, but it was closed when I arrived. Feeling lost, I searched for nearby sushi restaurants on my phone (using Tabelog app) and found Hanabusa Sushi. Luckily, it was open. The restaurant had a traditional atmosphere with a solid wooden counter and was run by an elderly couple. I started with a refreshing beer and ordered some dishes to try. The dishes I had included appetizer of mozuku seaweed, assorted sashimi plate with flounder, conger eel, tuna, striped jack, and amberjack, simmered parrotfish, whale bacon, and fatty tuna roll. The standout dish was the simmered parrotfish, which was rich and flavorful. The bill for the meal, including beer and sake, came to 6210 yen, which I found reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience at Hanabusa Sushi.

After exiting Hoo Station and crossing the pedestrian crossing, you will find a long-established sushi restaurant right away. Surprisingly, their lunch sushi and udon set is only 550 yen, and their ramen is also reasonably priced at 850 yen. The sushi udon set includes 5 pieces of nigiri sushi - octopus, yellowtail, sea bream, squid, and tuna, with a side of pickled ginger. The udon has a gentle flavor with a rich broth and thin noodles typical of Osaka-style udon. The cost performance is excellent. I also enjoyed some cold tea to cool off. I'm curious about their drinking set as well, so I will definitely visit again. Hana Busha Sushi, phone: 072-272-2909, located at 1-35-1 Hotocho, Sakai City, Osaka.

In December of the third year of Reiwa, during lunchtime (11:30-14:00), they offer a sushi and udon set for 550 yen. The set includes 5 pieces of freshly made nigiri sushi by the chef and a mini-sized but still a full portion of kitsune udon. This price offers great cost performance.

Hanabusa Sushi - I stumbled upon this place while wandering around Phoenix. The chef and what seemed to be the hostess were at the counter. They had a generous serving of tuna, shrimp, flounder, and plenty of other ingredients in the chawanmushi! There was also delicious snow crab, so I couldn't resist... Surprisingly, the quality was really high. We also ordered additional dishes like sashimi, squid, octopus, and grilled squid eggs, all for a reasonable price of 5550 yen for two people. Definitely coming back for more! Check them out at Takumin's Gourmet Diary on Eatery, and on Instagram @takumin8888.

Can you have lunch at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday?
Sure, that's fine. Sushi and somen noodles, is that okay?
Yes, that's perfect. Thank you.
550 yen.
In less than 5 minutes, the somen noodles arrived.
Wow, it's delicious. The way they boiled it is perfect, smooth with just the right amount of firmness. The broth is also good.
And then, the sushi arrived right away.
Wow, the octopus, sea bream, yellowtail, squid, and tuna are all delicious.
Each of the classic sushi toppings is tasty.
The sushi made by the head chef behind the counter is different.
I want to conquer his fresh sushi, but I'm already full.
And now it's time to drive.
I'll come back again, next time I want to try the fresh sushi.

While wandering around the Hoo area, I stumbled upon a sushi restaurant in a place where I didn't expect to find one. It's called Hanabusa Sushi. At first glance, I thought it must be cheap, and it turned out to be really affordable. I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was still empty when I entered, but later on, families started coming in. The interior had counter seats and some seats in the back, although I couldn't see clearly. The chef and his wife were running the place. The menu was displayed on cards and on a blackboard. Here are some of the items listed:
- Special Sushi (Market Price)
- Premium Sushi Set: 1600 yen
- Regular Sushi Set: 1200 yen
- Basic Sushi Set: 850 yen
- Fatty Tuna: 800 yen
- Sea Urchin: 650 yen
- Flounder: 500 yen
- Sea Bream: 450 yen
- Striped Jack: 450 yen

- Egg: 200 yen
- Squid Legs: 200 yen
- Horse Mackerel: 200 yen
- Green Onion Fatty Tuna: 800 yen

The blackboard also displayed a variety of sashimi, tempura, and other dishes, including wine, sake, plum wine, and cocktails. The reviewer tried the Sushi and Udon Set for 550 yen, which included 5 pieces of sushi and Kitsune Udon. The sushi pieces were tuna, squid, amberjack, salmon, and octopus. The reviewer was impressed by the quality and taste, especially considering the affordable price. The chef and his wife were friendly and provided good service. Overall, it was a satisfying and delicious experience.

In a narrow alley, there was a shiny signboard. I took a chance and went in. Inside, there were no customers, only the owner playing games at the counter. I ordered a sushi set for 990 yen (tax included). There was also a lunch set with sushi and udon for 500 yen, but I decided to go with just the sushi. The set included shrimp, tuna, squid, octopus, eel, and mackerel with 2 slices of pickled ginger. There was no soup included. The tuna had brown edges, the squid was dry when dipped in soy sauce, and the shrimp was mediocre. I was concerned about the freshness of the ingredients. I apologize for not being able to take photos. As a side note, there was a signed board from a local celebrity displayed in the shop.

There is a shop located in a suspicious alley next to a pachinko parlor near the east exit of JR Ootorii Station. The shop seems to have relocated from Ootorii Town. We started by ordering bottled beer. Today, my son and I are drinking together. It's a bit strange to sit at the counter and eat with two people. We started with boiled white fish. We ordered a sashimi assortment and vinegared rice in a tea cup. For the finale, we had a vinegared dish assortment and a lime chu-hi. My son had a tekka maki and tuna nigiri for his finale. The shop is run by a couple. They also offer a nice drinking set. There are many different types of shops around Ootorii, with Ario leading the way. It's a fun town! Thank you for the meal.

One time, I found a sushi restaurant near a pachinko parlor and decided to go in. They offered 5 pieces of sushi and udon for only 500 yen during lunchtime. The taste was delicious too. I couldn't believe I was getting all that for 500 yen. The restaurant is a bit hidden in a small alley behind the pachinko parlor, so it might be easy to miss. The atmosphere inside was nice and the service was quick. I felt really good there. I recommend checking it out if you're in the area.
