This restaurant is one of my favorites, and I will definitely go back again.

For a little over 1,000 yen per person, the amount and taste were great. It was so delicious! I just happened to walk into this place, but it was a hit. This must be a popular restaurant with long lines!

It's a seafood restaurant and often has "Gyokko" in its name. I went there for lunch, not specifically for this restaurant. I arrived close to 2 pm, so the restaurant was empty and I comfortably sat at the counter. Even though it was close to 2 pm, they still had the lunch menu available until 5 pm, which could also serve as dinner. I ordered the "Greedily 10-piece set (660 yen tax included)" first. It included tuna, squid, salmon, sweet shrimp, herring, scallop, sea urchin, chopped conger eel gunkan, tuna tataki, and egg. For 660 yen, it was a great deal. The sushi arrived in front of me. I won't go into detail about each piece, but they were all delicious. The scallop was boiled, the sea urchin was white, and the chopped conger eel gunkan was impressive. Even the egg was cooked well. The rice was also good, with the right amount of vinegar and texture. Feeling a bit guilty for just ordering the set, I also got the "Seafood Chirashi Gunkan (99 yen tax included)" and the "Cherry Trout (319 yen tax included)". The bonito sashimi was also disappointing, lacking in richness. The cheap flounder had a watery taste, and even the octopus head was mediocre. The only dish that stood out was the negi hamachi gunkan, which had a decent portion size and value for money. After eating 8 dishes, I spent over 1500 yen, but I didn't feel satisfied with the overall dining experience. Despite being in the same price range, there was a noticeable difference in quality among the dishes.

I had been wanting to go to the sister restaurant of the revolving sushi restaurant "Erimo Misaki" called "Hakodate Gyo Hikari" for a while, so we had lunch there. It was a sushi lunch for one coin! Since there is a branch in Makomanai, I decided to stop by for a late lunch on my way to Sapporo. I parked my car in the shared parking lot, which is convenient as most Hokkaido restaurants have parking. Luckily, I was immediately seated at the counter. I looked at the special menu, in addition to the regular menu, and confirmed that they offer lunch sets. The lunch sets start from 500 yen, which is a common setting in Hokkaido conveyor belt sushi restaurants and is appreciated by customers. Since it had Hakodate in its name, they had a separate menu for squid. I ordered a plate of fresh squid before my set arrived. The squid looked fresh and delicious. However, I'm not a fan of adding shiso leaves as they overpower the flavor. Despite that, the squid had a subtle sweetness and was tasty. The set sushi was average, but it came with miso soup for 700 yen, which was a good deal. The toppings were slightly different from the regular plates, and some were better than others. The total bill came to just over 2000 yen. There are so many delicious conveyor belt sushi restaurants popping up one after another that it's hard to keep up! 😂

When I entered, a plump woman greeted me, "Just one person? Please sit at the available counter seat." I sat down at a table near the edge where the cleanup was not finished. The lunch menu includes a flyer with four types of sushi: two types for 550 yen and 770 yen. I ordered the B set "8-piece set". It was served surprisingly quickly (probably about 3 minutes). The toppings were "lean tuna, salmon, crab mayo gunkan, red shrimp, natto roll, squid, negitoro gunkan, engawa". It came with soup for just one coin plus tax. The toppings were all cut thick and had a good thickness. For 550 yen, you can't complain about the quality of the sushi. The rice was warm and loosely packed, making it a good weak grip. The freshness of the toppings was sufficient for a conveyor belt sushi place, and the content was far superior in terms of price comparison (probably the best lunch sushi I've had). If you're someone who can eat any topping, you can enjoy it quite a bit. Personally, I would have been happier if there was a shiny fish like mackerel instead of squid, and if the mayo flavor was more sophisticated, like changing the crab mayo to tobiko. You can also order individual grand menu dishes and have lunch drinks. I think there are about three other stores in the city under the same management (the store names are different, so it's confusing). I think the main store is in Yoichi?
