I have always wanted to visit this sushi restaurant, and I stumbled upon it while walking around. The place was mostly filled with foreigners. I ordered the Namba plate (1,680 yen) and it was delicious. The sushi ranged from 150 yen to 400 yen per piece. I ate quite a lot and I highly recommend this place.

I started work on January 5th, 2023, so on the previous day, January 4th, I spent the morning lazily at home and then ventured out to Minami in the afternoon. While exploring the back streets of Minami's Namba area, I noticed a sushi restaurant called "Fukuyoshi Bekkan" that had just opened for business. Intrigued, I was drawn into the restaurant. Location: The restaurant is located one block north of NGK (Namba Grand Kagetsu) on the east side of the street. It is situated next to the old-fashioned cabarets "Miss Pearl" and "Miss Osaka," giving the area a unique vibe. Interior: The restaurant had more of a casual izakaya atmosphere rather than a traditional sushi restaurant. It had a counter with 8 seats facing the chef's station and three tables for 4 people each. Food: Due to the Osaka Central Wholesale Market being closed, the restaurant had limited fish options available. Despite this, I tried the following dishes: - Assorted sashimi: Included flounder, live octopus, yellowtail, scallop, and fatty tuna. The quality was good, especially the live octopus. - Grilled fresh squid: Deliciously chewy and crispy, paired well with mayonnaise. - Premium eel: Torched on the surface, it had a crispy and fragrant exterior with a fatty and tender interior. - Toro-taku roll: A delicious combination of fatty tuna and pickled radish, with a unique brush-on soy sauce. Overall, I wanted to eat and drink more, but decided to settle the bill as there were no other appealing options. The total cost was 5330 yen, including beer, two types of chilled sake, and the dishes mentioned above. The toro-taku roll stood out for its generous portion of fatty tuna and overall value for money. I would consider returning in the future when the market is fully operational. After leaving the restaurant, I felt like I hadn't eaten and drank enough, so I decided to stop by another place before heading home.

I arrived at around 9:30 and there were a few customers in the restaurant. I had the "ura-sara," "nanba-sara," and "toro tetchi," all of which had large pieces of fish. The wasabi was quite strong, making me tear up a bit while eating. However, the otoro, maguro, and kanpachi had a nice fatty texture that balanced out the strong wasabi. Everything was delicious, but the toro tetchi was the best! The menu changes daily, but they are willing to accommodate any preferences. Overall, it's a great deal!

My favorite sushi restaurant in Osaka's Sennichimae, Fukukayoshi Annex, located on Doguya-suji Street. I ordered: -Namba plates x2 for 1,080 yen each -Ura plates for 1,680 yen The sushi has a large and chewy texture, with plump and delicious toppings. It's really tasty sushi!

Fukukaya has been found in various places, but it seems that some restaurants have decreased due to the impact of COVID-19. I have eaten at several Fukukaya restaurants, but this one is my favorite. The sushi here is really good, with a sense of security and a veteran's touch. The restaurant has TV monitors above the counter, making it easy to dine alone. I have been here three times already, and during the summer, you can watch the Hanshin Tigers game while chatting with the staff. The owners, who are around my age or a little older, run the place. Wasabi is a must, and I always order a variety of sashimi, including white fish and red fish. They have a wide selection of sake, which often distracts me from ordering more sushi. Recently, I have also found a favorite caraway here. The sushi here is pretty basic, but the rice has a clear and distinct flavor. There's just something delicious about this place. Thank you for the meal.

Now, you can't enter from the tool shop street, but there is a small sushi restaurant with only a counter in the back alley! I had to go there as soon as possible, so I visited. It's located in the back street of NGK, near a cluster of cabarets. This area seems to be a restaurant wasteland, with many places coming and going. I don't know why. There are no customers, and it feels a bit awkward. There are two chefs and three older men silently spending time in the restaurant. There are individual sushi pieces with prices displayed, as well as set menus, but being picky, I decided to avoid the set menu. ●Mongou squid (100 yen) ... thick slices yet incredibly tender with a good chewy texture! ●Live octopus (150 yen) ... also thick slices, chewy and with a great texture! ●Live horse mackerel (250 yen) ... a recommended dish with a mix of tenderness and a firm texture! ●White fish marinated in kombu (200 yen) ... the flavor of the kombu adds a nice touch! I don't know the type of fish, but it's delicious! ●Live flounder (250 yen) ... the umami flavor spreads in your mouth! The softness is great! ●Cucumber roll (300 yen) ... the cucumber is crunchy! The nori doesn't overpower the taste, making it easy to eat! ●Tekka maki (500 yen) ... the tuna flavor is strong and spreads in your mouth! Incredibly delicious! ●Live kanpachi (150 yen) ... also thick slices, full of umami flavor that spreads in your mouth! ●Live red shrimp (300 yen) ... no fishy smell, just delicious! The pickled ginger is sweet and vinegary. It goes well with alcohol. ●Black label beer (bottle, 580 yen) ●Gari shochu (380 yen) ... the sweet and vinegary pickled ginger tastes great! The bar waitress arrived before her shift and enjoyed some appetizers and beer. Even though there were few customers and the atmosphere was a bit lonely, chatting with the chefs made it a little brighter. There were many bottles lined up for keeping, so maybe it's rare for it to be this empty. You can order sushi by the piece, so you can enjoy various types of sushi and appetizers. I recommend this sushi restaurant!

I visited "Fukukaya Bekkan" in Nipponbashi, Osaka for the first time. I have been to Fukukaya in Namba a few times before and have tried their "Ura-zara" plate separately. On this day, I first ordered grilled eel and a draft beer. The eel had a moderate amount of fat and was nicely grilled, pairing well with the beer. I then ordered a sushi set and sake. The "Namba Plate" included 5 pieces of chef's choice sushi such as flounder, fatty tuna, striped jack, red shrimp, and silver cod. The "Ura Plate" included 5 pieces of chef's choice sushi such as yellowtail, medium fatty tuna, sea bream, salmon, and fresh octopus, along with a draft beer and sake from Shiga and Wakayama. The fish pieces were large and satisfying, with the flounder and fatty tuna being especially delicious. The cost performance was good, and it is a casual sushi restaurant that you can easily drop by.

I've been there about 10 times already (lol), but there's only this many pictures! Anyway, it's cheap and fast (lol). I usually eat about 15 pieces in about 20 minutes and then quickly leave! The cost performance is great, and it's quite delicious for the price. I highly recommend the silver cod and the Anago sushi at this place, but they haven't had Anago recently (sad face). I'll go again soon and maybe take pictures this time? Well, I might just eat and leave again. I'm not sure, but I plan to take pictures!

The red miso soup was delicious. It had been a while since we had sushi that didn't come around on a conveyor belt. Of course, it was delicious. My wife and I enjoyed a tasty meal together on our anniversary.

It is a sushi restaurant where the chef prepares the sushi right in front of you. The quality of conveyor belt sushi has improved, so the excitement of the sushi may not be as high as before. Each piece costs at least 250 yen, so customers are expecting higher quality, making it tough for sushi restaurants. The type where the chef prepares the sushi is popular among tourists, especially Korean visitors. Considering the price and taste, I might consider trying other options.
