JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo celebrated its 20th anniversary and underwent a renewal on April 28th, so I tried the G.W Premium Panorama Buffet. The dishes, using plenty of Hokkaido ingredients such as vegetables, meat, and fish, were as delicious as always. The sweets, in particular, seemed to have a more moderate sweetness than before. With the renewal, the view of Sapporo's magnificent scenery can be seen from anywhere with a clearer flow than before. The number of seats also seemed to have increased. The chairs were comfortable and spacious. Since everyone starts eating at the same time, there was a bit of a crowded feeling at the entrance where the drink bar and food are located together. Also, the coffee server after the meal used to be in two separate places for the drink bar and dessert, but now it's only at the drink bar, so it's a bit crowded. However, since it's newly renovated, I hope for improvements in the future and look forward to visiting again for delicious food.

I stayed at the JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo with a JAL Pack plan that included breakfast and spa access. The view from the window seats overlooking Susukino and Mount Moiwa was stunning. I enjoyed Sapporo Classic beer and a variety of snacks, including nuts, dried fruits, and rice crackers. I also ordered some delicious Hokkaido potato fries to go with my beer. The total bill came to 3900 yen, but I used a 100 yen regional coupon towards it. It was a truly happy hour with great beer, tasty snacks, and a beautiful view.

The most delicious was the "apple sorbet." I wonder if this is an original item? However, it was really tasty. The only downside was the 1.5-hour time limit due to the turnover system. I'm not used to this system, so it felt short. I wouldn't mind paying extra to stay a bit longer.

On the second day of my trip to Hokkaido, I focused on sightseeing in Otaru and Sapporo, so I booked this hotel, which is said to be the best in Sapporo. The best thing about this hotel is that it is directly connected to Sapporo Station, the hotel is clean, and the hotel staff's service is excellent. The room was a bit smaller than I expected, but the location was excellent. I booked an Executive Twin room on a high floor during a time sale on Ikyu, but the room was tighter than I had anticipated. Also, the sound from the toilet and bathroom could be heard clearly in the room, which bothered my husband and me. (We have stayed at Hotel Nikko Osaka and the former Hotel Nikko Tokyo in Odaiba several times in the past, and we have always had a good impression, so it is reassuring to stay there. As for breakfast, the seafood bowl with unlimited ikura (salmon roe) was delicious, but the bread selection, including baguettes and croissants, was also very tasty. There was also a rough-cut soba made with Hokkaido buckwheat flour, which was served with grated daikon radish, green onions, fried tempura bits, and soba dipping sauce.
