Strolling around for ramen in Kyoto. I visited this shop near Kyoto Kawaramachi Station on the 2nd floor of "GOOD NATURE STATION." The interior is moody with dim lighting, creating a chic and stylish space that doesn't feel like a typical ramen shop. There are only counter seats, but it's very clean and calming, making it welcoming for solo female diners. I ordered the Truffle-infused Special Chinese Soba for 1,400 yen. The soup is made from a blend of duck, local chicken, deer, beef, and pork broth. It had a rich umami flavor followed by a pleasant sweetness. Mixing the porcini mushroom paste and truffle paste added depth to the taste. The balance was perfect, with a subtle truffle aroma enhancing the richness of the soup. The bamboo shoots topping was large and substantial, a bit challenging to bite into due to its thickness but had a crunchy texture releasing a burst of flavor. The thinly sliced chashu was tender and melted in the mouth, spreading a luxurious fatiness. The noodles were thin and slightly soft, easily slurping up with the soup. Enjoying this flavorful and elegant ramen in the moody ambiance was satisfying. Personally, I prefer less salty broths, so this ramen suited my taste better than the ones with a strong soy sauce flavor. Eating delicious ramen made for a delightful memory on my trip.

Met up with a friend at "Roku," a restaurant featured in the Michelin Bib Gourmand list that I've been curious about. We arrived before noon and went straight to the ticket machine outside without having to wait in line. I had decided on the "Truffle-infused special Chinese soba" for ¥1,400 with an extra "soft-boiled egg" for ¥200 after doing some research beforehand, while my friend went for the "Roku's chicken white broth soba" for ¥1,100 with an extra "slightly flawed soft-boiled egg" for ¥100. Upon entering, I was surprised by the stylish interior that didn't feel like a typical ramen shop, with a calm atmosphere and only a counter in a horseshoe shape. As I looked around, our ramen was served. I started by savoring the soup, which had a rich flavor, then slurped the noodles as they were, followed by mixing in the truffle paste and porcini mushroom paste to enjoy a refined aroma and taste. The toppings were meticulously prepared, and I left satisfied after finishing every last drop of the soup. It was a delicious meal. I look forward to trying their rice dishes next time.

This is my second visit. I tried the rich bonito broth ramen, which is a new menu item. It came with a generous amount of bonito flakes on top. A bit too much, perhaps. The first bite had a strong bonito aroma. As I continued eating, it had a light taste and was very delicious. The aftertaste was also good, and I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Near Kyoto Kawaramachi Station, inside GOOD NATURE STATION is "Chuka Soba Roku." A stylish and chic ramen restaurant. The Chuka Soba at Roku costs 1100 yen. The Chashu Don costs 500 yen. It may seem simple, but the female staff explained, "It's made with porcini mushroom paste, so enjoy the flavor change as it melts," which made me a bit nervous. The soup is light yet full of umami. I especially felt the incredible dedication to the flavorful menma.

Today's lunch featured a delicious Chinese ramen prepared by a chef with 2 Michelin stars as featured in the Bib Gourmand guide. Both the creamy chicken broth and the rich bonito-based new creation were delightful (*^^*)❣️ #ChineseRamen Roku #KyotoDeliciousRamen #KyotoKawaramachiGourmet

Truffle-flavored special Chinese noodles: 1,400 yen. A meal during a trip to Kyoto. Located in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. It is on the shopping floor (GOOD NATURE STATION) inside GOOD NATURE HOTEL, which conveys a natural lifestyle. The building has various food, goods, and a bar on the first floor, creating a stylish space. Quietly standing on the second floor of this building is a ramen shop. Upon passing through the curtain, you are greeted by a counter surrounded by overwhelming wooden objects. It was a space that made tourists feel special and satisfied. The taste was elegant, delicate, simple, and had a unique depth that was both familiar and new. I particularly enjoyed the crunchy texture of the menma, which seemed to be the way it should be. On this day, I also tried the extra wonton, which was priced at 100 yen, and it turned out to be the best soup wonton because the soup was so delicious. This dish, with celery as an accent, was also delicious and satisfying without getting tired of it. There are many delicious ramen shops in Kyoto, but choosing this one was the right decision considering the taste and overall experience of the restaurant.

I visited thinking there would definitely be a line, but it happened to be empty. When I was hesitating in front of the ticket machine, they kindly explained the menu to me briefly, and I entered the restaurant. It's easy for a solo female to enter, and the air conditioning was blasting, which was a relief for me who had walked in this scorching heat. I ordered the Sansho Duck White Broth Noodles. The ramen that arrived after about 5 minutes was piping hot, and it even came with a slotted spoon for the meat. The soup was light, but had a depth of flavor. Adding extra sansho pepper really enhances the taste. I'm not a fan of greasy food, but the balance of greasiness here is quite good. The surface is covered with a thick oil film, but as you eat, the grease becomes less noticeable. Personally, I prefer more green onions and wood ear mushrooms, but it would affect the appearance, so I guess they prioritize visual presentation. I enjoyed my meal slowly, and when I finished eating and left, the staff even saw me off. The service is perfect! I'd like to try a different ramen next time. Thank you for the delicious ramen.

Simple is best! The flavors were light with reduced salt, and I dove the chashu rice into the soup, not leaving a single drop uneaten. The noodles lacked a bit of excitement. The shirotan broth had a creamy smoothness like potage, with a frothy texture from the whisk, making it easy to eat without being too heavy. I'd like to try a different ramen next time. Thank you for the meal!

Ordered the standard Chinese noodles. The aroma of the noodles and soup is quite weak. Not much umami can be felt. Although there is quite a bit of oil, it lacks depth, and the texture of the noodles is average. Honestly, it was quite disappointing. *It tastes similar to Maruchan noodles. Thinking about it, Maruchan noodles might actually be amazing, haha. They attract customers by advertising that a Michelin chef supervises, but it doesn't meet the expectations set by the advertisement at all. The atmosphere of the restaurant is sophisticated, but I felt a significant gap in the essential taste. Kyoto gives the impression of having many ramen shops that use wonderful broth, but is this branding taking advantage of that image? There was also a menu item called Dashi Ramen, but it just looked like an imitation of a certain famous ramen shop in Kyoto.

Located on the second floor of GOOD NATURE STATION next to Kyoto Takashimaya along Kawaramachi Street, just up the escalator in front. Purchase a ticket for the simplest Chinese soba (1100 yen) before entering. I used to think it was expensive, but nowadays, ramen shops in the 1000 yen range are common. It seems to be a shop produced by someone who has won two Michelin stars, and the atmosphere is too stylish to be a ramen shop, more like a dimly lit bar or modern art museum. I felt a little nervous (laughs). The seating is in a horseshoe shape, with only counter seats. The staff at the restaurant were very attentive, noticing immediately when the water was running out and coming out quickly from inside to help if I was having trouble buying a ticket. It was a weekday afternoon around 2:30 pm, so it was empty with only two female customers ahead of me. The Chinese soba is light and has a delicious soup! The porcini paste for flavor variation is great when melted, with a pleasant aroma that comes out through the nose! I couldn't help but finish the soup completely! But the menma (bamboo shoots) could have been a bit bigger... The noodles have a satisfying texture that cuts crisply! Recommended for those who like light ramen.

It was a ramen shop inside the hotel that was filled with a sense of luxury. I ordered a ticket for Tori-gara ramen and egg over rice. The egg had a rich yellow color, no smell at all, and was delicious. The noodles in the ramen were just the right thickness, and the chicken soup was rich and very tasty. The price was over 1000 yen, reflecting hotel prices, but there was a line during lunchtime!

Truffle-flavored special Chinese soba for ¥1,400 Kirin Lager small bottle for ¥400 I came back after a long time and found that the name had changed. The truffle-flavored special Chinese soba has a very clear chicken soup base. It's delicious on its own, but it also comes with porcini paste and truffle paste, which you mix in as you eat, creating a rich and complex aroma that evolves with each bite. The toppings are well-crafted and both visually appealing and tasty. Compared to the delicious soup and toppings, the noodles are just okay. Thank you for the meal. #Chukasoba Roku #Kansai Gourmet #Kyoto Gourmet #Kyoto Kawaramachi Gourmet #Kansai Ramen #Kyoto Ramen #Kyoto Kawaramachi Ramen #Ramen #Want to connect with ramen lovers

This restaurant, which has won a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide, was visited on a Saturday evening with no line, and we were able to enter smoothly. I ordered the classic Chinese soba. The porcini mushroom paste in the middle added a nice flavor. It was a simple yet outstanding taste, truly impressive.

A conveniently located restaurant. It was my first visit. The staff were friendly and explained the menu well. The interior was very clean, with only a counter but enough space between seats to eat comfortably. The atmosphere was very stylish. When I saw the ramen, I had never thought that about ramen before, but I thought it was beautiful. You can tell that they pay attention to both the interior and the food. The ramen with seasoned egg was priced at 1300 yen. Personally, I think 1300 yen for ramen is expensive, but considering the quality, atmosphere, service, and location, I thought it was actually quite reasonable. Next time, I would like to try the lightest ramen.

Today's lunch was at "Chuka Soba Roku" in Shijo Kawaramachi, my third visit overall since their renewal. I purchased the new menu item "Roku's Dashi Chuka Soba" and "1.5x noodle size up" from the ticket machine. Here comes the bowl. There's a lot of bonito flakes on top. Is it shaved to 0.1mm? Is it freshly shaved? Oh, I see. Let's handle the bonito flakes first. Let's try the soup. It's a seafood-based Japanese-style broth with soy sauce seasoning. The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles. Toppings include chashu, chopped green onions, and seaweed. The chashu is thinly sliced. Thank you for the meal.

Roku's Chinese noodles for 1100 yen, extra chashu rice for 100 yen, extra 3 wontons for 200 yen, and a discounted seasoned egg for 100 yen (prices are approximate). Arrived a few minutes before opening. Saw previous customers, several families, and foreigners. Seems to be a Bib Gourmand-listed restaurant with many foreign tourists. Ordered the Chinese noodles for my first visit. The discounted egg may not look great, but for 100 yen, it's a good deal. Overall, it's a stylish place, maybe that's why it's a Bib Gourmand? The clear broth soup with multiple broths is to my liking recently, but it didn't leave a strong impression.

Truffle and porcini-scented special Chinese noodles. Michelin-listed restaurant ROKU has been renewed. And I'm the first to post about it. This time, I visited with my mother and daughter. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of Good Natural Station. I ordered the following from the ticket machine at the storefront: ◎ ROKU's Chinese noodles x2 for 1100 yen each, ◎ ROKU's special Chinese noodles for 1400 yen, ◎ Extra chashu mixed rice for 100 yen. The special Chinese noodles I ordered had truffle and porcini duxelles on top, which you gradually dissolve into the soup as you eat. The soup is light and delicious. The noodles are thin. The chashu includes pork belly, narutomaki, menma, and seaweed. To finish, it's like mixing rice balls into the leftover soup and drinking it all up. My daughter also enjoyed the meal and said it was delicious after finishing eating. 23 years, 131 bowls.

The Chinese soba at Rokka in Kyoto was truly delicious! The noodles were chewy, the soup was rich and exquisite! The chashu was tender and amazing. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was cozy, and the owner's warm smile was nice. However, since it's a popular spot, it can get crowded and you may have to wait, but the taste is worth the wait.

Located on the second floor of the Good Nature Station building in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City. It's about a 2-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station. I visited without any prior knowledge, but because the soup uses duck and the name is Roku (six), I mistakenly thought it was related to Menraku in Hirakata City. From what I read in reviews, it seems to be produced by people from a Chinese restaurant. The interior is very stylish, with dim lighting, calm music, and various trays. The ramen has a transparent soy sauce base, made from soup extracted from five ingredients and flavored with ingredients like truffle. Oh... I usually approach flashy ramen with caution, but this one was surprisingly well done. The soup is light, but you can still taste the richness in the first bite. The noodles are thin and soft, but surprisingly firm when boiled. And the bamboo shoots are quite delicious. The black paste, likely made with truffle, doesn't stand out much. Maybe Sansho pepper would be a better match...? At 1100 yen in this location, it's not expensive nowadays. I think it's worth going back to eat again.
