Bar Cable Car [Tabelog] 3.11 A 5-minute walk from Tenjin Station @bar_cablecar Fukuoka Gourmet Entry No. 2 A cozy and calm BAR atmosphere to toast with cocktails made by a bartender in their 30s. I had two bartender's choice cocktails and appetizers for two, totaling around 3,000 yen. A place where you can enjoy drinks reasonably in a relaxed bar setting. I visited without prior research, but it was really good. For more posts, please check @mako.roge #makolog. Today, after work, I met up with a friend for a drink while being conscious of preventing the spread of infection in the new lifestyle. We decided to have a drink in the central area of Fukuoka, around Akasaka and Daimyo, after a light first stop. This place we went to is one of the establishments of the HALF PENNEY GROUP, founded 27 years ago, and it was my first time here. It was early evening with one group of customers already there and three groups coming in later. The name of the bar comes from the cable cars originating in San Francisco, I learned something new. The display of small bottles on the wall was fun to look at. The prices were all inclusive of tax. I had the following: - Laphroaig 10 years for 1000 yen - Ardbeg 10 years for 1000 yen - Frozen Daiquiri for 1000 yen - Mixed nuts for 600 yen. I don't have enough knowledge to talk about bars, but maybe the single malt I had after a long time suits my older age now. The frozen cocktail was a perfect dessert substitute. With the gloomy days of spring this year due to the coronavirus, intense heat, and typhoons, it was nice to be in a good atmosphere like this bar, laughing and chatting with friends, and I genuinely felt like I was storing up energy for tomorrow. Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by after drinking around Akasaka and wanted to have a little more to drink. The calm atmosphere with a wooden counter and the quiet master were nice. I had a Sky Ball, Cherry Collins, and some nuts for an appetizer, which cost around 2530 yen. I thought I would come back again when I'm in the area.

On the way home, made a detour to a spacious bar. It allows smoking, so not recommended for those who dislike it, but the atmosphere as a bar is great. They have a wide variety of drinks. I had a Margarita for the first time in a while. It was the perfect drink after a meal. Thank you for the meal.

Four glasses of white wine, gin and tonic, Ardberg, and Godfather for a total of 7 drinks cost 7590 yen. Reasonable price.
I had always felt intimidated by the long-established "Cable Car" bar, thinking it was a place run by a cool middle-aged master and having a high threshold. However, after a day trip to Okinawa, I decided to stop by on my way home to relax with a cocktail. To my surprise, the bar was welcoming and had a young staff of two bartenders who provided excellent service. I started with a Bass Pale Ale beer and noticed the cute coaster on the table. The bartender recommended an Ardbeg TEN, which was part of the "Halfpenny Group." I learned that the bar was part of a group that also owned British pubs in the city. I tried the recommended highball with Ardbeg TEN, and it was delicious. The bar was not too crowded, so I wandered around and admired the vintage decor and miniature bottle collection. I requested a unique whiskey, and the bartender served me a single malt called "Kunshu," which was a Japanese-concept Islay malt. I also tried the "KingofKings" from Osaka, which was a rare find in Fukuoka. Lastly, I ended my visit with a simple White Horse blended whiskey. Overall, I had a great experience at the bar and would definitely visit again.

Behind the ward office in Daimyo, where many izakaya bars are lined up, there is a bar with a unique exterior called "Cable Car." The interior of the bar has a nice authentic atmosphere. I started with a Vodka Tonic instead of beer, and nibbled on mixed nuts. Looking for a nightcap, I checked the menu and found a good selection of single malts. I wanted to try the 16-year-old Scapa, but it seems they no longer have it. The trend in whisky these days? They seem to have stopped promoting the age, and now there is a bottle called Skiren. It is aged in bourbon barrels. I tried it straight, and the aroma was sweet, with a smooth mouthfeel. It was delicious, but I wonder what fans of the old Scapa think. Just as I was about to leave, the bartender started talking about a gin they had tried before, and recommended Magellan, a gin with a blue tint from iris flowers. I tried it on the rocks with a slice of lime, and it was refreshing and tasty. It seems that while I have been frequenting standing bars lately, the bar scene has been changing. I should make sure to visit these kinds of bars once in a while.

Before going to a Chinese restaurant, I was captivated by the exterior of this place as I passed by. After our meal, we decided to check it out. Contrary to what I imagined from the outside, the interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere. The exterior is said to be designed like a San Francisco cable car. Miniature bottles are lined up on the walls, and the ceiling is covered with coasters from bars around the world. They have a wide selection of whiskies and cocktails. Just looking at the menu was enjoyable.
My husband, as usual, asked for a "rare single malt," and what was served was this one. It has the taste typical of a single malt.
The Scarlett O'Hara cocktail is a passionate red. The drink on the right in the photo serves as the base. It has a smooth and light taste, making it easy to drink.
It's dark and hard to see, but this is the "beef jerky." It's semi-raw and delicious.
The cheese platter is perfect for snacking. The presentation is beautiful. The photo below shows the "nuts."
On the left is the Wild Turkey, a drink my husband likes. On the right is the Hamlet, another "red" drink. It's brandy-based, so it's stronger than before, but it's delicious once you get used to the taste.
They have a wide variety of drinks and provide pleasant service. It turned out to be a better restaurant than I expected. The owner apparently manages nine restaurants in Fukuoka. It might be fun to visit other restaurants in this chain. ^^

Chuo Ward, Daimyo [BarCABLECAR]. I really like this place, but I haven't written a blog about it. No meaning in recording. The soup came out and it was delicious. I like this long, cave-like interior that seems to go on forever. The feeling of alcohol lovers gathering and the dim lighting that hides the flaws of the skin is good. -Additional notes-----------------------------------------Oh no, it seems like I don't have enough characters again! Oh well... Hmm... Can I just convey it with photos? Is that not allowed? I see. Namu.

I was drunk so I don't remember well, but I was served a wonderful drink that I don't usually have! The atmosphere of the bar is a bit dark and nice. It's a reasonably priced bar where you can enter without feeling intimidated.
