Shatoreize is a familiar bakery to everyone, and it's the easiest store for me to visit. It's just a short train ride away, but by bike, it's about a 30-minute ride one way. I like to ride my bike for some exercise before the sun gets too strong. Even though the ride is bumpy, I bring a cooler bag to buy cakes. I parked my bike in front of the store. The store is relatively small, making it easy to shop around. In the afternoon, they often have special set items available. They also sell wine that is popular among fans. I bought the following items: La Purc Bitter chocolate, Butter and red bean pancake, Kakishingenjo chestnut bun, Special Ohagi with chestnut, red bean, and soybean flour, Hakushu mineral water manju with yellow shigure, Hakushu mineral water zenzai with Tokachi red beans, Hakushu mineral water shiratama zenzai, Salted bean daifuku, Mini baked donuts, Additive-free table roll with walnuts. Even with all these items, the total was only 2,000 yen, and I even got change back! I was delighted. The La Purc chocolate had a strong scent of VSOP, making it a sophisticated treat for adults. It has a cut in the middle, and I enjoyed it with the provided pick. It melts slowly in your mouth and tastes delicious! I will definitely buy it again. The red bean paste in the Japanese sweets was not too sweet, with a refreshing sweetness to it. The butter and red bean pancake was moist and soft, more like a pancake than a dorayaki. It had a butter cream and red bean paste filling. I might have eaten one more if I had bought a few more. The chestnut bun had a white bean paste filling, and the chestnut flavor was prominent. The chestnut in the Ohagi looked like steamed rice, but it was actually mochi rice with red bean paste inside. I enjoyed it and wanted to eat it again. It would be nice if they sold it separately. The zenzai came in a cup, and the agar made sure the contents stayed intact even when taken home on a bike. I liked the whole red beans in it, and the sweetness was just right for me. The diced chestnuts were small, and the shiratama had a different texture from homemade shiratama, but it had a slight mochi texture. The salted bean daifuku had a soft mochi with a mild saltiness from the beans, which was nice. The mini baked donuts came in a cup, and they were bite-sized and easy to snack on, with a moist and chewy texture. The additive-free table roll with walnuts was enjoyed warm as it is by me, and my partner liked it with cream cheese or white peach jam. The bread had walnuts kneaded into it, and it was a soft bread. This type of bread is something my mother would like. When you go shopping, they usually include a flyer that gets you excited for your next visit. On a side note, it seems that a new Shatoreize store will be opening in Seijo Sakura-gaoka soon, so I'm looking forward to it. I'll visit on a sunny day again. Thank you for the meal.
