As usual, I bought a Gyumeshi bento and headed home on the Shinkansen. I tried a few different options, but the cheapest Gyumeshi was my favorite. It costs 1200 yen, which may seem expensive, but it's much better than buying a cold station bento for the same price. The warm and delicious sukiyaki beef is definitely worth it. However, I'm not a fan of the pickled ginger side dish.

The rice was warm and very delicious, but I felt like the amount of meat had decreased significantly compared to before, making it feel a bit empty. For 1600 yen, I wish there was a little more meat. The taste of the meat is really delicious. Maybe I should have ordered the two kinds of meat instead...

I stayed in Shin-Osaka for a business trip to Osaka and used the "Welcome to Osaka Campaign" for the second time. After finishing work, I took a half-year vacation with some volunteers and headed to Kinosaki Onsen. We stayed for 2 days and got ¥4,000 worth of coupons. We decided to use the coupons all at once for a luxurious bento lunch, so we went to "Omi Suehiro Shin-Osaka Teahouse" located one floor below the Shinkansen ticket gate. We ordered the Deluxe Meat Bento (Omi beef steak & Omi beef hamburger) for ¥3,500 and Roast Beef Musubi for ¥420. The meat was cooked after we ordered, so the bottom of the bento was warm when it was ready, about 15 minutes later. We moved to Osaka Station and met up with friends inside the "Harukaze" limited express train an hour later. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn't eat it right away, but I'm sure it would have been delicious. However, the hamburger was still incredibly tasty even when cold! I realized that hamburgers go well with bento. Of course, since I got to enjoy Omi beef for free, I have no complaints. But I did think to myself that I should go to Omi to eat Omi beef next time!

On the final day of my business trip from Matsuyama to Osaka, I bought a steak bento for 2950 yen at Shin-Osaka Station, using up my travel coupon of 3000 yen. The steak was okay, but the roast beef was incredibly tender and delicious. It was a bit of a challenge to spend over 2000 yen on a bento, but it was a nice treat. However, I thought the steak would have been tastier if I had eaten it at the restaurant instead of in a bento box.

When taking the Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka, this place is a must. The bento is not cold, as it is made fresh on the spot, so it is very warm. I had the Omi beef meal for 1240 yen, and it was incredibly tender and flavorful, with the meat being so soft that you don't even need to chew much. The onions were also incredibly soft and delicious, almost unrecognizable as onions. Personally, I like to eat a piece of egg with the meat, as it enhances the flavor. There probably aren't many bento places better than this one.

On the second floor of Arde Shin-Osaka at Shin-Osaka Station, there is a shop where you may have to wait a bit for your food to be cooked, but eating it fresh is the best! I ordered the "Omi beef tasting bento for 1620 yen" (Omi beef rice with sukiyaki and Omi beef hamburger) and it was delicious and melt-in-your-mouth. I was very satisfied. Instagram: hide06_21. I have been writing on Tabelog since March 2021. My nickname is Hanchou. I enjoy trying out various restaurants.

Today's moving meal was at a shop that sells mainly beef bento boxes, focusing on Omi beef, around 7:55 am on Saturday. It's located outside the station building, so you have to exit and re-enter if you're transferring trains. I purchased the "Omi Beef Taste Comparison Bento (Gyudon & Omi Meshi) (1,510 yen)" this time! The waiting time was about 2-3 minutes. The Gyudon consists of Omi beef belly meat, onions, and shredded konjac simmered in a sweet and savory sauce. The Omi Meshi is made with Omi beef tendon meat and onions simmered in a similar sweet and savory sauce, and the beef tendon meat is tender enough. Compared to the Gyudon, it had a slightly richer flavor. The side dishes of half-boiled egg, butterbur, pickled vegetables, and pickled ginger were a nice addition for a break between bites. The result of the taste comparison was that both were delicious, including the rice. However, it's a bit disappointing that the amount of meat is quite small for the price. Thank you for the meal!

I went to buy Gyudon for lunch or dinner, but ended up getting a steak bento instead. It was made to order and I ended up having it for breakfast. It was a bit heavy for breakfast, but it was good for this type of bento. Luxurious two types of Omi beef steak bento (shoulder loin & sirloin) with "Goku" tea house special salad.

Today, after finishing my plans to return to Osaka, I stopped by "Omi Suehiro" at Shin-Osaka. It took me a while to organize my luggage at the hotel, and on top of that, I ended up buying souvenirs, so I was running late for my reservation! In the end, I had a station bento for dinner ♡ The location is directly connected to Shin-Osaka Station. It's an area outside the ticket gate, so even people seeing others off can easily use it. There weren't many people in front of the shop, so I thought I could buy quickly, but they prepare the meat after you order, so everyone comes back to pick it up when it's ready. - Domestic Roast Beef Bento Unexpectedly delicious ♡ Roast beef prepared with rooibos tea ♡ The sauce is also on the sweeter side, which I think Kansai people would like. - Omi Beef Hamburg Bento It seems to have been delicious ♪ A good bento that silences complaints. It was good (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Since this one uses branded beef, the quality of the meat is better than the roast beef bento. [Overall Evaluation] It takes about 10 minutes to complete, so you can also do some shopping in the souvenir area less than a minute away on foot. Moreover, surprisingly delicious (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) The freshly made warm meat bento is comparable to the roast beef bento from a high-end yakiniku restaurant, so the cost performance is also good ♡ By the way, when I gave the hamburger to my mother who came to see me off, she said it was delicious ♡ I was a little impressed by the fact that there are many good station bento options available ♫ Thank you for the meal! I might come back for more ✨ [Ratings] Due to the location being in the station sales area, the atmosphere score is inevitably low, resulting in a lower overall score. So, please note that the low score is not for the bento itself, to avoid any misunderstanding ♡

Today, I moved from Osaka to Tokyo with my wife. The moving company arrived at 9 am to start the moving process. We worked tirelessly packing boxes and taking out the trash until after 3 pm with no real break. We said goodbye and thank you to the room we had lived in for over 10 years. I am truly grateful for all the hard work. My wife and I quickly made our way to Shin-Osaka station and boarded the bullet train to Tokyo. We bought our first meal of the day at Shin-Osaka station in the morning and filled our stomachs on the train. It was delicious! I forgot to buy tea and eagerly awaited the wagon to come by. However, the Omi beef was incredibly tasty!

After finishing the schedule of my Osaka business trip on the third day around 4 p.m., I had to catch a Shinkansen train back to Tokyo from Shin-Osaka station at around 6 p.m. Since I am not a fan of having dinner late at night, I decided to buy a fancy bento box at Shin-Osaka station and eat it on the Shinkansen. There are many shops selling bento boxes inside the station, but I chose to buy one from "Alde Shin-Osaka store" which is known for their 551 Horai souvenir. The shop I visited, known as "Suehiro," has a long history starting from when the founder, Saimatsu Uejima, opened a Western food restaurant named "Koutokusha" in Osaka in March 1910. Later in March 1920, he opened "Bifteki no Suehiro" in the same area, which is considered the origin of the Suehiro chain. The current Suehiro chain is operated by various companies in Kansai and Kanto regions, offering steak and other meat dishes. Although Suehiro Restaurant System was acquired by Amiyaki Tei, a grilled meat chain in Aichi, for just 1 yen, Suehiro remains a well-known brand in the industry. Our shop, Omi Suehiro Honten, is managed by Nippon Kanko Kaihatsu Co., Ltd., a company established in 1950. Originally founded by Chuoichi Miyake in 1952 as a shabu-shabu specialty shop, Omi Suehiro Honten is now part of the Suehiro chain. We offer a variety of Omi beef dishes at an affordable price. I chose the Omi Meshi & Roast Beef bento box for 1,460 yen. It consists of tender Omi beef simmered in a sweet and savory sauce served over rice with half-boiled egg. The roast beef on top of the rice is slightly pink and tastes delicious with the accompanying sauce. I enjoyed this bento box on the Shinkansen journey from Kyoto to Nagoya.

2nd floor of JR Shin-Osaka Station. Purchased a bento box for eating on the train here at Alde Shin-Osaka. Chose the Omi beef obanzai bento. After ordering, it is cooked in the back so you have to wait a bit. Now, time to eat! It's nice that it was just cooked, so it's nice and warm. The meat in the bento is a bit fatty but has a nice sweetness and is tasty. The various obanzai dishes are a nice touch, but they are all on the softer side, so the texture is okay. This is a taste that would go well with alcohol. So, thank you for the meal! It's great that it's served warm and freshly made. However, it does emit a smell, so if you sit next to someone you don't know on the Shinkansen or limited express, you might want to be a bit careful.

Business trip on the Shinkansen. Today, I decided to have a bento on the train again and went to the area where there are takeout specialty shops at Shin-Osaka Station. Today, I bought a bento from "Omi Suehiro Shin-Osaka Chaya". I got the Omi beef rice in a large portion. The meat and rice are 1.3 times the normal amount (laughs). It is a sukiyaki-style stew with onions and konjac noodles cooked together. It is served on top of warm rice. The meat, being Omi beef, has the tenderness of Japanese beef. The seasoning is a nice sweet and savory flavor. You can really feel the quality difference compared to a one-coin beef bowl. It is served warm, which makes it even more delicious.

I purchased this bento box to eat on the Shinkansen. There were many ekiben (station bento boxes) available, but I preferred something warm, so I decided to go with this place where they pack it for you after ordering. I chose the roast beef bento from the various beef options. The sauce was a light soy sauce flavor. I enjoyed eating it by wrapping the roast beef in rice. The portion was just enough when I was hungry. I also had a mixed juice today, so I am satisfied.

For my Tokyo business trip lunch, I chose a station bento box with Omi beef sukiyaki, which was freshly made and delicious! I ordered the Large Roast Beef Bento (domestic beef) for 1300 yen. The roast beef was incredibly tender and tasty, and the portion size was generous. The rice was fluffy and had a homemade bento box feel. There were also three types of pickles as a nice palate cleanser. I finished it all in no time. Thank you for the meal!

It was around 7 pm and all the restaurants in Osaka Station were full with waiting lists. In a rush due to my shinkansen schedule, a friend recommended this place where they assured me they never run out of their regular beef rice, premium beef rice, and sukiyaki-style beef rice because they keep making them in the back. The advantage of this continuous preparation is that the bento boxes are always warm. Even after buying souvenirs and catching the shinkansen, when I finally opened the bento box, it was still warm and delicious. The warm and tender rice and meat made the meal even more enjoyable. Thank you for making my trip satisfying until the very end!

On the second floor of Shin-Osaka Station, there is a specialty shop for Omi beef bento boxes that cost at least 1000 yen. The purchase item is a domestic beef roast beef bento box for 1080 yen. I later realized that this bento box was the only one made with domestic beef, not Omi beef. The meat was marinated in rooibos tea, and it was tender and decent, but the roast beef sauce was too sweet and strong. It would have been better with some acidity. The rice was a bit sparse and lacked volume, which was very disappointing. I thought everything was made with Omi beef, so it was my mistake, but I felt somewhat disappointed. I wanted to try Omi beef, one of the three major Wagyu beef brands. If I feel like it, I will make sure not to make the same mistake again next time.

Overall rating 3 = Taste 3.5 + (Service 3 + Atmosphere 3 - 6) × 0.25 + (Cost Performance 2-3) × 0.5 = 3.5-0.5 Located on the B1F floor of Shin-Osaka Station, there are three neighboring bento shops. Our shop specializes in gyudon (beef bowl) bento. I have bought from here several times before, but this is my first review and probably my last (laughs). They offer a variety of options including regular gyudon, Omi beef gyudon, kalbi yaki, and hamburger, as well as bento sets for comparison. Unlike traditional station bento, these can be eaten while warm, which is a plus. However, the prices are on the higher side, even surpassing some station bentos that are over 1000 yen. I feel the cost performance is not great, but considering the location and demand, I understand why they are priced this way. I don't pay much attention to it and continue buying. The hamburger was tempting, but this time I opted for the Omi beef gyudon and kalbi yaki set for comparison, priced at a whopping 1510 yen! Expensive! The sign for the kalbi yaki didn't mention Omi beef, but upon checking the ingredient list, it seems the kalbi yaki also uses Omi beef. I didn't know this before, but the rice is also Omi rice. I was a bit puzzled as Omi rice is a general term for rice grown in Shiga Prefecture. If it's not a specific brand, wouldn't rice from Niigata, Hokkaido, or Akita be tastier? I prefer my rice a bit firmer. The cooking seems to vary slightly day by day. The gyudon consists of thinly sliced beef cooked with onions in a sweet sukiyaki-style sauce. I wish there was more meat in it. The kalbi yaki includes 3-4 slices of meat, with one thick piece on the left side that seems to be a better cut. The other pieces are probably common belly meat. I wish they would lower the price a bit for the meat bento, even just a little.

Finished work in Osaka in early autumn 2018~ I have to hurry back to Fukuoka by early afternoon. The JR lady at the ticket counter was cute, so I asked her, "What bento do you recommend?" She replied, "I find everything delicious, so any bento is good." A good kid, haha. I checked out the bento shop below the ticket gate, but nothing really caught my eye. Then I saw a promising one called Gyumiyam, and it said "Recommended for women" on it, haha. Once on the Shinkansen, let's enjoy a novel with the "Taste Comparison Bento (Omi rice & roast beef)" (1460 yen)~ Unwrapping it reveals a luxurious sight. Omi rice and roast beef with pickles in between, and the sauce on the side. Let's try the Omi rice first~ It has a light sukiyaki-like flavor with a hint of garlic. The boiled egg goes well with it! It's quite sweet, but the rice is enjoyable. The roast beef seems to be marinated in rooibos tea!? I'm not sure, haha. Well, it's pretty good. The sauce is a sharp red wine flavor, I think. This bento series is quite nice. ...I ended up finishing the novel, haha.

I had about 15 minutes before the departure time of the Shinkansen, so I strolled around the underground area of Shin-Osaka station. When it comes to station bento, I look for either meat or fried food. Hmm? How about a bento with Omi beef? I chose the "Omi Beef Domestic Beef Taste Comparison Bento Kalbi & Roast Beef." It came with separate sauce and the meat was delicious. It was fun to compare the different meats. However, after finishing it, I was still hungry. Haha
