Today, I had the daily B set lunch at Nem Nem, which was quick and satisfying. The set included sweet and sour pork, dumplings, and soup for 780 yen. The sweet and sour pork had a salty sauce that was gentle on the stomach, perfect for the day after drinking. The dumplings were small and easy to eat with thin skin. Personally, when I'm in need of a meal, I prefer Nem Nem over other places like Osho (laughs).

On this day, I came to Namba with a craving for fried rice, so I visited this place located right by Nipponbashi Station in Namba Walk. The website calls it Namba Walk store, but on Tabelog, it's called Rainbow Town store. This place is a well-known long-established restaurant that has been leading the gyoza scene in Osaka. The atmosphere inside is retro, with dim lighting and counter-style tables. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including gyoza and set meals typically found in neighborhood Chinese restaurants. I ordered fried rice and grilled gyoza. The grilled gyoza arrived first, with 7 slightly small pieces that had a thin, light skin and a flavorful taste that has been a staple in Osaka's gyoza scene. About 10 minutes later, the fried rice arrived. It was a simple style with egg, green onions, and a hint of what seemed like char siu, moist and oily but with a good flavor. The atmosphere and consistent taste of this place, different from Gyoza no Ohsho, were still great. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I was having a day drink at a nearby izakaya, and decided to have lunch at this restaurant. I often go to the main branch, but this was my first time at this particular location. I usually go to the Chinese restaurant next door, which is why I haven't tried this place before. I sat down and ordered my favorite dish, plate udon. It arrived and it was delicious. There were a variety of ingredients and the consistency and flavor of the sauce were just right. I thought it was even better than the plate udon at the main branch. I started adding vinegar halfway through, as I always do. It adds a refreshing taste and enhances the deliciousness even more.

It's been a while since I visited "Min Min Rainbow Town Store". I felt like having their fried chicken, so I ordered the tipsy gyoza set with a small beer upgrade to regular draft beer for an additional 100 yen. I also ordered a serving of gyoza and half portion of fried chicken. The gyoza had thin skins with a strong garlic flavor and tasted delicious. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. I also added fried rice with pork and onions, and a plain chu-hi to my order. The fried rice was well-seasoned and tasty, and the pork and onion stir-fry paired well with the chu-hi. This Chinese restaurant is a casual place where you can easily drop by.

Hello. This is Shunmama. For lunch on September 27th, I went to the Chinese restaurant [Minmin Rainbow Town Store] that I occasionally crave. The daily special lunch menu for that day was: A) Stir-fried pork, shiitake mushrooms, and egg (includes dumplings, rice, and soup) B) Soy sauce wonton noodles & mini fried rice I ordered the A) stir-fried pork, shiitake mushrooms, and egg dish!! It gets quite crowded around noon on weekdays, so be careful. A man who came in after me managed to catch the attention of the staff and placed his order before me. It's a survival of the fittest situation, haha. I also asked the staff who brought me water to take my order, and my dish arrived about 20 minutes after I entered the restaurant. But the lunch was worth the wait! The soup was piping hot, the dumplings were crispy, and the stir-fried shiitake mushrooms and egg were seasoned just right. I ordered extra rice, but I devoured it all. I might end up gaining weight again, haha. I had been curious about this place for a while, so I decided to try their lunch menu. However, when the food arrived, I was a bit disappointed by the appearance. The soup looked kind of murky, with white hair-like strands floating in it, and the green onions, bok choy, and minced meat were all lacking in quantity. When I tasted the food, my suspicions were confirmed - there was no depth of flavor, richness, or umami. Even the gyoza that came with the set meal was soggy and greasy. Feeling sorry, I left more than half of the food uneaten and headed home. Once was definitely enough for me.

I was drawn in by the black fried rice in the showcase and decided to try it. The restaurant was packed. I ordered black fried rice, dumplings, half portions of sweet and sour pork, and half portions of fried chicken, as well as scrambled eggs with tomatoes. The dumplings arrived in just 1 minute. They were small and strong in garlic flavor, not my type. The black fried rice had a strong flavor, not too dry, and very addictive! The fried chicken and sweet and sour pork were easy to eat and delicious. I appreciated that they had half portions available. I was satisfied with the flavorful Chinese food I wanted to eat! Today was the last day of work. I chose "Menn Menn Niji no Machi Store" as my second stop (finishing touch). It had been about 5 years since I last visited this store. It makes me happy as a middle-aged man to see "Niji no Machi" (Rainbow Town) still in the store name!! - Gyoza (dumplings) 360 yen - Chahan (fried rice) 670 yen The gyoza came out in about 15 minutes. Gyoza is my favorite at Menn Menn. First, I tried it as is... Hmm? It seems oily and mushy. I tried it with the sauce... It tastes the same. The gyoza I had at another store recently was not the same as before. What happened, Menn Menn!!! Please bring back the old gyoza taste!!! The fried rice came out 9 minutes after the gyoza. I had already finished the gyoza. The fried rice is just delicious. Normally, it's super tasty, but this time it's just okay. It's a bit mushy even though I asked for pepper. The soup seems to have sesame oil in it. It's a store I really like, so I'm quite disappointed this time. It was supposed to be the end of the year for me... But I will come back again. During lunchtime on a certain day, I decided to take the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line to Nipponbashi Station and walk over to Namba Walk. It had been a while since I last visited this place, so I ordered the usual mapo tofu set, but I was intrigued by the dish served to the person next to me. I decided to try the Genghis Khan set for 670 yen, which had caught my eye at the top of the menu board. To my surprise, the dish was served just 3 minutes after ordering. The Genghis Khan was tender and delicious, with no unpleasant smell. The sautéed onions with a sweet and savory sauce were also very tasty. The set also came with fried chicken and pickled vegetables, which complemented the meal well. The egg soup and shiny rice were also impressive. This Osaka's number one budget Chinese chain never fails to deliver delicious food at an affordable price. It was a satisfying meal, and I would definitely recommend trying the Genghis Khan set.

The town of Rainbow's Minmin dumplings, half-fried chicken, and sweet and sour pork. Dumplings are delicious with vinegar and pepper. Fried chicken and sweet and sour pork are classic flavors that go well with alcohol. I had Shaoxing wine, which was unexpectedly sweet. The hot and sour soup could use more thickening.

This is Minmin, a casual Chinese restaurant in Nijinomachi. I love shrimp, so I tried the Ebi Mayo and Ebi Chili on separate occasions. The shrimp was so plump and delicious, I couldn't get enough. The portions were quite generous, and I was very satisfied with the dumplings, rice, soup, and shrimp dishes, which are their signature items. The large shrimp had a satisfying texture and were seasoned well. It's great to be able to enjoy delicious Chinese cuisine at a low price. Both the Ebi Mayo and Ebi Chili were so tasty that I couldn't decide which one I liked more. The Ebi Mayo seemed to have a hint of aurora sauce, and it tasted great mixed with the salad or eaten with rice. But the Ebi Chili was also really delicious. It's a tough choice between the two. The Ebi Mayo gives a slightly more luxurious feeling, in my opinion. There are other delicious menu items to choose from as well, so it's a tough decision. The rice was also very tasty, and the dumplings were exceptionally delicious with perfect browning. Minmin has various locations, but the Nijinomachi store is conveniently located near Nihonbashi Station, making it easy to visit. In addition to the shrimp dishes, their other dishes are also delicious, so I will definitely come back when I'm in the area.

I always had this restaurant on my mind, so I decided to visit it this time because I was really craving for gyoza. I arrived around 11:40 am on a holiday. There were 5 other customers already there, which is quite low for a holiday lunchtime. I sat at the back and looked at the menu. There were various options, but the lunch set seemed like a good deal, so I ordered the "Tantanmen set for 750 yen & a medium bottle of beer for 550 yen". First, I took a sip of the beer that arrived. The gyoza, rice, and tantanmen came out one by one. Wow, it was quite a generous portion. I tried the tantanmen soup first. Oh, it was surprisingly spicy. The spicy sesame-flavored soup was strong. The noodles were soft, just as I expected. The gyoza came in a set of 7. The contrast between the crispy and soft parts of the skin was great. They were filled well and tasted delicious. The beer was going down smoothly. I finished the rice and felt full. The tantanmen alone was 700 yen, but this set with everything was 750 yen. What a deal. I might try another set next time since the lunch sets are so good. But I'm also really curious about the Mapo Tofu-Tenshinhan... Thank you for the meal.

I had been neglecting updates for a while... I visited this restaurant on March 10, 2020. It was just 5 days before the actual visit. While wandering around Namba Walk, I was captivated by the enticing photo of a menu on the restaurant's exterior wall. It was Ma Po Tianjin rice. When I lived in Kyushu, I hardly ever ate Tianjin rice, but it has become quite prominent in my life since I started residing in Osaka. I have had the opportunity to eat Tianjin rice quite often. And to think, Ma Po on Tianjin rice (well, it's a somewhat typical idea) - I must try it. Later, I went to "Min Min Rainbow Town Store" to have that Ma Po Tianjin rice. By the way, well, it doesn't really matter, but I always thought "Min Min" was the "Rainbow Town Store," not the "Namba Walk Store." As soon as I entered the store, I ordered the Ma Po Tianjin rice and waited for a while. This place is quite busy, isn't it? The Ma Po Tianjin rice that was served for 720 yen was the same as the one I had seen in the photo earlier. It had the feeling of an island of Tianjin rice floating in a sea of Ma Po, which is easy to understand even for children with a "this looks delicious" feeling. Even though I'm quite old, I really love this kind of food that seems to appeal to children. When I actually tasted it, it was pretty much as I had imagined - not exceeding expectations, but also not falling short. It was simply delicious.

I tried ordering Mapo Tianjin rice. It's spicy. But, it's delicious. I regret having drunk beer before entering this restaurant. I think it would have been even tastier if I had eaten it with beer. I realized after leaving the restaurant that I didn't eat any dumplings, even though it's a dumpling restaurant.

After enjoying delicious food at Ankeraso, it was a holiday and every restaurant was full, so it was hard to get in. Finally, we decided to end our day at Minmin in Namba Walk. We walked quite a bit and felt a bit dizzy. While drinking an Ultra Highball, we had gyoza, black fried rice, and mapo Tientsin rice. The gyoza had a soft skin with a strong garlic flavor unique to Minmin. It would have been nice if it had a bit more crispy sear. The mapo Tientsin rice was quite spicy and not to my taste. We had a fun day drinking with friends without worrying about anything.

Located near Namba Walk, close to Nipponbashi Station, is a Chinese restaurant called Minmin Horoyoi Gyoza Set. I ordered the half portion of fried chicken, which was delicious. The gyoza here has just the right amount of garlic flavor and goes perfectly with beer. I also had a Gyobi beer on this day. The fried chicken was also very tasty and suited my preferences. I will definitely visit this place periodically!

One day on a weekday, it was lunchtime around Nihonbashi area. I noticed there was a restaurant called MinMin nearby, so I decided to give it a try. I've heard that MinMin's lunch menu is both affordable and generous in portion, so I occasionally visit. Among the various options, I chose the tantanmen set today. The tantanmen had a soup with a mild level of spiciness that would appeal to everyone. The gyoza was also delicious, as expected from MinMin. It was a satisfying lunch that left me feeling full.

After having a drink at a kushikatsu restaurant, I felt like eating ramen and stumbled upon Gyoza no Nemunemu, which had a fantastic menu. They had a great deal called the "DeDe Set," which included soy sauce wonton noodles and a mini fried rice. The soy sauce ramen was light and perfect after kushikatsu. Of course, I couldn't skip the gyoza and beer at Nemunemu. The gyoza was as delicious as always, with slightly soft skin. The wonton noodles had a tasty soy sauce broth, and I slurped it all up. The mini fried rice was also very tasty. I left Nemunemu feeling completely satisfied with the ramen, fried rice, and gyoza set. I'll definitely come back again.

I like Sapporo beer, so that alone gives this place high points. "Minn Min Niji no Machi-ten" in Namba Walk is a Chinese restaurant that opened its first store in Osaka in 1953, introducing pan-fried dumplings to Japan. The place is always crowded, so I waited for the right timing to go in. Looking at the menu, I couldn't resist trying their famous dumplings that have been popular for about 60 years since 1953. I ordered the Chinese rice bowl and dumpling set. The dumplings have a thin crispy skin and a juicy filling. They are different from the chewy dumplings at Gyoza no Ohsho. The dumplings are cooked by a dedicated gyoza specialist. As someone who prefers a bit more char on my dumplings, I wished they were cooked a bit longer. But they are still delicious. These garlic-infused dumplings are the origin of garlic dumplings. The Chinese rice bowl is packed with vegetables like cabbage, squid, quail, wood ear mushrooms, shrimp, pork, carrots, and eggs. I decided to have dinner at Namba Walk. I saw the menu posted on the outside wall of a restaurant and thought "this is it!" so I went in. However, I couldn't find the dish on the menu inside. It turns out it was a new menu item at the neighboring Champon restaurant. Since it would be awkward to leave, I looked at the menu again and decided on the "Chicken with Black Pepper Sauce" (exact name forgotten). It looks like sweet and sour pork but the meat and seasoning are different. The strong black pepper flavor adds a nice kick to the dish. It's so delicious that it's hard to resist eating more rice. The dumplings were reassuringly tasty and had that classic flavor. It seems like a typical Japanese-style Chinese restaurant with all the traditional condiments on the table.
