I bought New Year's greeting snacks at Koganesanso. They have a variety of wrapping papers which I always enjoy using. This time, the package design is perfect for New Year's greetings. The snacks are individually packed in small bags, making it easy to distribute and also hygienic.

When I went to Daimaru in Umeda, it was an unselected day, so I lined up and bought some snacks to take home. I bought Saganoyaki Ogura Meigetsu Curry Rice Crackers and Jikka no Tsuki for my own home, purchasing 4 items in total. I also bought some to give to my parents' house. Anyway, I really like the rice crackers here, but the curry senbei I bought for the first time was a little spicy~

I happened to visit the Ogura Sanso at Daimaru Umeda Department Store on a day when it was the "random selection day" on the 1st and 15th of the month, so I decided to stop by. This was my first time visiting Daimaru Umeda store, and on the random selection day, I bought the Ogura Sanso Kasyu with various flavors that I always enjoy. I used the Daimaru Matsuzakaya shareholder discount card for a 10% discount, and then used a department store gift, so it was a good deal. When I tried it at home, I particularly enjoyed the Teikei no Tsukikata as it matched my taste as always. The random selection day offers a good price, but unfortunately, it doesn't come around often.

When it comes to Okurayama Villa, you have to mention senbei. While you often see large senbei, they also have small bite-sized ones which are quite unique. Even the bite-sized packaging has the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu printed on it, with the front showing the first verse and the back showing the second verse. Very stylish.

While walking through the underground area of Umeda, I stumbled upon a long line of people. It turned out to be the day of the random product sale at Kokurayama-so. This event is held for 7 days. Kokurayama-so is known for its products that are easy to use as souvenirs, and on this day, they were selling large bags of rice crackers. I decided to buy some for home use.
- Kokura Meigetsu (random): 245g
These fried rice crackers are not greasy and have just the right amount of salt, making them easy to eat in large quantities.
- Saga no Yaki (random): 280g
This pack includes broken pieces of rice crackers with soy sauce flavor and seaweed. The soy sauce flavor is not too strong, allowing you to eat as many as you want. The pack is generous, providing a satisfying crunch, but be careful not to overindulge as they are high in calories.
This is my second time purchasing random products, and if I happen to come across this day again, I will definitely buy more. There is a limit of 10 packs per person, and everyone was buying a lot. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I went on a quick tour of Osaka with my senpai. We found some delicious-looking rice crackers at Daimaru and bought them. Summary: New rice crackers for 1080 yen. They are about 5mm thick and shaped like a rice ball with sides about 50mm long. When you bite into them, they are crispy at first and then crumble gently, very tasty. They have a hint of garlic flavor, but it's quite subtle. Overall, you can taste the flavor of the rice with a salty touch. They remind me of rice crackers I've had before, but the way they crumble in your mouth and their simple flavor make them delicious.

Located in the basement of Hankyu Department Store in Umeda. It's convenient for souvenirs and I often use it. It's well-received by people of all ages, so that's good. I visited to buy souvenirs on this day as well. There was something that caught my eye in the section for home use!! Yes, Sansho Arare (spicy rice crackers)♪ I love sansho, so I also bought some for myself. I'm looking forward to eating them~ When I took a bite, I didn't notice at first, but later on, the tingling sensation and the flavor of sansho came out. It goes well with beer! I was planning to stop after a little bit, but they were so delicious that I couldn't stop laughing. I was about to finish them all at once, but I resisted... In the end, I ate them in two separate servings. I want to buy them again. Thank you for the meal~♪

I lined up before the opening of Shinso's salted kombu shop. There was also a long line across the street. I bought the salted kombu with curiosity and then joined the other line. It was the day when Kokurayama-so, which draws long lines even in Nagoya, sells its value-priced items twice a month. The large bag, which is not individually packaged but has a zipper, was 540 yen. Kokurayama Shunju has a limit of 2 bags per person. I also bought the ones with Japanese sugar and the ones with sweet soy sauce-flavored fried senbei. I didn't want to be too greedy as I thought I couldn't bring them back to Nagoya. I was lucky to get them at just the right time.

I suddenly felt like eating rice crackers, and thought, "Oh right, I haven't had 'Ogura-san Shunju' lately!!" So I decided to buy some. I was at Daimaru, so I thought I had to go to Hankyu, but then I saw a shop inside Daimaru. Lucky me! 'Ogura-san Shunju' depicts the beautiful landscapes of Japan through the four seasons. Each bag contains 8 small rice crackers, representing the four seasons of Japan. When I tried to buy it, I found out they now have smaller bags available! The "Mini Bag" (5 bags) costs 420 yen. It's great because you don't end up eating too much at once! It's also easy to bring along for my upcoming trip to Paris. When I got home, I immediately opened one bag and finished it quickly. Then I went for the second bag. With 8 different rice crackers to eat, one bag disappears in no time. It's so delicious that I always end up eating too much. I try not to buy it too often because of that. We don't buy it much for home use, but we use the canned version for Buddhist services.

"When you're unsure about what souvenir to bring to the countryside, I always rely on this place. Their rice crackers are popular among kids and elderly people, and the ones from Kokurayamaso are especially cute in shape. The rice cracker mochi is delicious and a big hit in our household. They also have seasonal sweets that are highly recommended. They wrap the gifts in furoshiki, which is also appreciated by foreign recipients. When I gave it as a souvenir to foreigners, they were delighted by both the appearance and taste, saying it's a representative Japanese snack."

【Store Selection】
After a long time, I went to the Umeda area and wandered around the food section of Umeda Daimaru looking for souvenirs for my home. I spotted the sign of "Kokurayamaso" which I always visit at Takashimaya in Namba, and felt drawn to the store. My mother, wife, and I all love the "Saga no Yaki" here, so I decided to buy souvenirs from this store.
【Exterior/Ambiance】
Similar to Takashimaya, the slightly elegant exterior and ambiance evoke a sense of nostalgia. However, the downside is that the store for gifts (delivery) and for personal purchase are at the same counter, so those buying for personal use may have to wait unnecessarily.
【Food】
My personal recommendation is the "Saga no Yaki". Each pack contains 2 pieces of rice cracker. The texture is just right, and the flavor is not too strong, making you crave tea after finishing them. You can eat as many pieces as you want. Another popular item among women is the "Ogura-yama Shunju", which contains 8 different rice crackers.
【Cost Performance】
The cost performance is slightly above average. The prices below will give you a sense of affordability.
- "Saga no Yaki" Beloved Bag (11 packs of 2 pieces each) ¥420
- "Ogura-yama Shunju" Beloved Mini Bag (5 packs of 8 pieces each) ¥420
【Overall】
The rice crackers from "Kokurayamaso" are all elegantly flavored and can be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups. I think they are suitable not only for personal use but also as small souvenirs or gifts.

The Kyoto Usubana Ebi is included, with a strong shrimp aroma as soon as you open the bag. Saga no Yaki is a soy sauce-flavored crispy seaweed rice cracker. Ogura Yamashunju contains 8 different types of rice crackers, each representing the beauty of the four seasons and nature. Tandanko is a new type of rice cracker with almonds inside, perfect as a snack with beer. Located at Daimaru Umeda Store B1F, 3-1-1 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka City.

I love the senbei and okaki from Ogurayama-so. There are various types to enjoy, and they are all very delicious. Sometimes they have a special sale of assorted fried senbei, which is cheap and a great deal. On this day, there was an event at the entrance of the Umeda Daimaru store. I purchased the assorted fried senbei (sweet soy sauce flavor) and the assorted fried senbei (light salt flavor). Each bag contains 245g, and it's a great deal at 432 yen. This Ogura Meigetsu is my favorite senbei. It is lightly and crisply fried, not too heavy, and once you start eating it, you can't stop because of its deliciousness.
