I went to Ropia Yodobashi Hakata store on September 8, 2023 (Friday). It is located on the 4th floor of Yodobashi Camera in Hakata Station Chikushi Exit, which opened in early June. At first, I thought it was a supermarket in an unexpected place, but once I visited, I was attracted by its cheap prices and wide variety of products, and started going there frequently. As an example, I found Shine Muscat grapes of this size for only 1200 yen (excluding tax), which is hard to find elsewhere. Among the rich selection of products, I was drawn to the pizzas. Pizzas coming out one after another were selling like hotcakes while still warm. I bought a Margherita pizza for 421 yen (including tax). With this size, it would cost nearly a thousand yen at other stores, right? I lightly reheated it and had it with cola. Oh! It's delicious! The chewy texture of the dough is also good. However, the portion was large, so I was satisfied with just half of it. It was a very satisfying pizza. Ropia Yodobashi Hakata store, 6-12 Hakata Station Central Street, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Yodobashi Camera 4th floor store. Closed on holidays.

Lopia is a discount supermarket that is mainly located in the Kanto region. Now, Lopia has landed in Kyushu for the first time! It opened in the Yodobashi Camera building in front of Hakata Station. There is a lot of buzz around it, with rumors that their pizza is delicious. The shopping carts are available for rent for 100 yen, which you get back later. It's not something you see often these days. The carts have a lot of static electricity, though, which can be a bit painful, so I hope they improve that. The store has a wide range of products on a spacious site. For example, there are many different brands of olive oil available. And the prices are really cheap. The famous brand natto in Fukuoka City is probably the cheapest here. Vegetables like paprika for 100 yen are hard to find elsewhere. And the highlight of Lopia - the deli section! The popular 300 yen pizzas were sold out, so I got a 500 yen one instead. It was a large pizza for a low price, but the taste was just okay. The sushi was the best among my purchases. It had big pieces of fatty tuna and medium fatty tuna on top of the rice. Highly recommended. There were other delicious looking deli items, so I would definitely like to go back.

While in Hakata, I visited Yodobashi Camera Hakata Ropia for the first time. Unlike the Fukuoka Shingu store which only had Margherita pizza, here they had 4-5 different types of pizzas available. This time, I bought the Teriyaki Chicken Pizza and the Mentaiko and High Green Mustard Beef Kalbi Pizza. I also couldn't resist buying the eel rice that I purchased last time. Both pizzas had simple toppings. The Teriyaki Chicken Pizza had teriyaki chicken, onions, and corn, with a sweet flavor that was delicious. The crispy texture of the onions was also great. The Mentaiko and High Green Mustard Beef Kalbi Pizza had charcoal-grilled beef kalbi, mentaiko, and onions, although I didn't really taste the onions. The flavor was a bit strong, but the combination of beef and mentaiko was really good. The eel rice had thick and fluffy eel, which was tasty. However, there were a lot of bones in it this time, making it a bit difficult to eat. It did eventually get chewed up, though. The dish also included two pieces of egg and pickled radish.

Visited Ropia for the first time at Yodobashi Hakata. You can purchase food items at a very reasonable price. I was intrigued by the 1,000 yen for a lot of yakitori, but I ended up buying a Margherita pizza for 390 yen. It was delicious even after reheating it in the microwave.

Actually, this was my second time visiting. Last week, I bought a domestic eel and ate it for about 2400 yen. But I was curious about the bigger Chinese eel next to it, which was around 1000 yen. So, for two weeks in a row, I went to buy eel! It's the Midsummer Day of the Ox, after all! Well, eel is my favorite food and I want to eat it all year round! The sushi here has big, fresh, and delicious toppings! When you shop here, you don't have to pay for parking, so you can wander around Hakata Station's underground shopping area or Hankyu. I'll go buy the big 1000 yen eel again! Maybe I'll go to the Shingu store next week (laughs).

Located on the 4th floor of Yodobashi Camera near Hakata Station, there is a new and interesting supermarket that has become a topic of conversation at my workplace. It is cheap and attracts a lot of customers, including many foreigners. I tried a melon for 350 yen, which was unexpectedly sweet and delicious. I also bought an avocado for 100 yen and made a salad with it, along with dressing and bread. The prices listed are before tax. They also offer pizza starting at 390 yen and a variety of side dishes. I will definitely visit again. Next time, I will bring a large eco bag as they only accept cash. Thank you for the meal.

Everything is large in quantity and yet cheap. It's like a Costco in the city. The side dishes, pizzas, fruits, all come in big sizes. It's great for single living. A big family would be happy here. Since it's newly opened, there are some special opening prices which are worth it. The sample corner was well-stocked. Vegetables and fruits are large in size. You can find big pieces being sold. I think it's affordable. Side dishes, bento boxes, sushi, all look delicious with a wide variety. There are fewer vegetable side dishes. The single living size side dishes are not available. More suitable for families. There were many types of sushi, but they felt a bit expensive compared to the side dishes. The variety of bento boxes is limited. Meat, fish - more variety compared to other supermarkets. Plenty of refrigerated and frozen options. Sweets - the Roppongi products are large and cheap. But I don't really need such big sizes. I would be happier if they were sold individually. The variety of other sweets is limited. There were sweets from Itoshima. Snacks and shelf-stable items - many items were on special opening prices. I think there were plenty of cheap and good deals. There were fewer traditional Japanese sweets. Plenty of bread. Lots of snacks. Yogurt and other refrigerated items - refrigerated items were also cheap. The amount of yogurt was overwhelming. Cheese was also cheap! Now, for the review of the side dishes. Eel sushi appearance 5/2 points. At 480 yen, you can get such a large eel sushi, which I thought was a good deal, so I bought it. There were three sizes of eel sushi available. This time, I purchased the smallest one. My thoughts on it: the quantity was not as much as I expected. Also, the vinegar was too strong, and the rice didn't taste good. The eel also seemed cheap. The texture was disappointing. I thought regular conger eel tasted better. It was a disappointing taste. It's a fun supermarket to visit, and it was cheap, so I gave it a higher rating of 3. I would like to visit again!

On the third day of visiting the new supermarket, I finally got a pizza. Despite the high prices, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was when reheated at home. It's a utopia supermarket that is a blessing in these inflationary times. The wide variety of products excites me. Even though I'm not a fan of kimchi, I find myself buying it because of the many options available. To keep prices low, they only accept cash and don't have a point card system. It's not tiring to stop by after work. The items that I found particularly cheap were rice - Fukuoka-grown Yumetsukushi rice for 999 yen (not a blend), meat - they even had Tokyo X, which surprised me, and sweets - they are very affordable! I'm sure I'll stop by again after work tomorrow.

A discount supermarket opened in Yodobashi in Hakata! I heard from my sister in Kansai that Lopia is really good, so I couldn't believe it when one opened in Hakata. I went to check it out a few days after the opening and it was packed with people! The entrance is the vegetable section and the prices are incredibly cheap! 3 cucumbers for 100 yen, a large lettuce for 100 yen, and a pack of fresh shiitake mushrooms for 180 yen, and more. There were also plenty of fruits available. In the deli section, a whole Margherita pizza was only 390 yen. The photo is from my second visit and the food was surprisingly delicious for the price. After work, the deli section had fewer options available. You can also buy fish and meat at low prices. Chicken thighs were only 79 yen/gram, and they were from a brand called Miyamoto Chicken, which is not imported, so that was nice. Overall, the portions are generous and the prices are low, making it convenient for large families. Payment is cash only, cards are not accepted. The staff scan the items and it's self-checkout, but there were many customers who mistakenly skipped scanning and went straight to the regular checkout. The staff had to remind them frequently. It's only been open for a month, so until customers get used to the system, the store might need to provide clearer instructions or make some adjustments. I will definitely come back!

Around April, there were job advertisements saying "Lopia will soon open on the 4th floor of Yodobashi Camera," and it has now opened successfully. Known as the "Costco of Japan," Lopia offers huge portions of food at incredibly low prices. The amount of meat and mushrooms is amazing. The sausages and bacon are delicious. I also bought a special Lopia bag. I have always wanted to shop here.
