I love sushi, but I also love seafood bowls. When I heard about a seafood bowl being sold at a fresh fish store in Koatamachi, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, I knew I had to go, despite the 24-kilometer distance. I arrived at the small fish store at 12 pm on a weekday and found two seafood bowls left in the display case. It seemed like sushi needed to be reserved in advance. I purchased a seafood bowl for 1300 yen, including tax, and took it home in a cooler box in my car. The bowl contained vinegared rice mixed with sesame, topped with chopped seaweed and a single large shiso leaf. The sashimi included salmon, sea bream, yellowtail, tuna, medium fatty tuna, scallop, octopus, and large salmon roe. The freshness of the sashimi was excellent, as expected from a fresh fish store. Although the price felt a bit high, especially for only two small pieces of medium fatty tuna, overall, the quality was undeniable. I personally prefer seafood bowls priced at 1000 yen or less, without the luxury of medium fatty tuna. I may not go back to buy again, but I appreciate the freshness of the seafood in this seafood bowl.

I found the "Matsuura Sengyo-ten" on the page of "Kurume Takeout Support Team". They are a fresh fish store that supplies sushi restaurants, dining establishments, wedding venues, and hospitals. When I called the store, they mentioned that the chirashi sushi is a limited quantity product and once it's sold out, they don't restock. I asked them to reserve one for me, and they kindly agreed. When I visited around 11:30, the store was located near the Kodama-cho Park. It is a large fish store with a fish tank on display. They had various takeout side dishes and bento boxes, but the chirashi sushi was already sold out. I informed them about my reservation, and they brought out the reserved one for me. I also bought a seafood bowl from another fish store and compared the two at home. The chirashi sushi (770 yen, tax included) consisted of rice, shredded omelet, octopus, salmon, flounder, amberjack, and tuna, garnished with chopped shiso leaves. We shared it between two people, and since it was sliced fish, it was easy to divide evenly. Personally, I thought adding a bit of the sauce from the seafood bowl I bought from the other store made it even tastier, but the other person preferred it as it was. It just shows that taste preferences vary from person to person. We enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.
