"I see, they have quite a variety of menu items here." That's what I thought when I tried the Dan Dan noodles and peach dessert at Denny's this time. It had been a while since I last visited Denny's, and on this day, I decided to order something unique for a family restaurant - the Dan Dan noodles and a peach-themed dessert.
Dan Dan noodles with a sesame aroma: Looking at the menu at Denny's, I noticed that they mainly offer Western and Japanese dishes, with only fried chicken and these Dan Dan noodles as Chinese options. The fact that the menu was limited in Chinese dishes, along with the introduction mentioning that the owner of the popular ramen shop "Raamen Iida Shoten" recognized the deliciousness of these noodles, caught my interest and I decided to give it a try. The meat miso included not only pork but also bamboo shoots and shiitake mushrooms, making it a dish with plenty of ingredients that seemed quite elaborate. The soup, mainly made with chicken bones, was well-balanced with blended sesame paste, chili oil, and Sichuan peppercorn oil, giving it an authentic taste that could compete with Chinese restaurants or specialty Dan Dan noodle shops. The spiciness was mild, making it suitable for a wide range of customers.
Fresh Peach Sundae: This seasonal limited-time menu for 2020 included a series of peach desserts, including the popular "Peach Parfait" from last year. As a treat for myself, I chose the most voluminous sundae from the selection. It consisted of fresh peaches, peach jelly, peach cream, peach sauce, plum sorbet, vanilla ice cream, nata de coco, and various other ingredients that showcased the charm of peaches. What caught my attention personally was the use of fresh peaches. According to the restaurant's website, they use peaches harvested in a relay system from representative production areas such as Yamanashi and Fukushima to provide the most delicious peaches in their best condition. The peaches' sugar content, firmness, and color are carefully checked, and each peach is peeled and prepared at the store. Managing and ensuring the quality of fruits on a national scale in a restaurant chain is not easy, so the effort put into using fresh peaches at Denny's was evident. Additionally, there is a stamp card for peach desserts, where after ordering four servings, the next one is free. For those interested, it's worth visiting Denny's to try out these peach desserts.
