Chidoriya has had some complicated family issues, so there are various Chidoriya stores, but I won't go into that here. I visited around 10 o'clock in the morning. The "Welcome!" greeting was nice. It felt elegant and warm. It felt like I heard a good "Welcome!" after a long time. They were very attentive in answering questions about the expiration date of the products, and provided warm tea and tea snacks while I was waiting. I bought 5 souvenirs, and I am grateful for their thoughtfulness. I will definitely go back.

The most popular item at Chidoriya Manju is the Mitarashi Dango! It is reasonably priced at ¥650 (excluding tax) for a pack of 12. However, it tends to sell out quickly, so I recommend trying it out. The Aeon Mall Tsurumi Midoricho store sometimes runs out of stock. Please be cautious as this item may sell out at any store.

Today, I went to Chidoriya Sohonten Kamonotei in Kamou 4-chome. Chidoriya is famous for its mitarashi dango, but it was a bit expensive at 600 yen per box, so I passed on it. It's strange how I can easily spend 600 yen on a cake but hesitate when it comes to traditional Japanese sweets. Maybe it's because they are often sold cheaply at convenience stores and supermarkets. This time, I bought Marubouro for 85 yen and Chidori Manju for 120 yen. Marubouro is very affordable at 85 yen and has a moist and simple taste that I love. Chidori Manju has a chewy skin and a moderate sweetness that goes well with the red bean paste. The best part was that, even though I only spent around 200 yen, they served me black soybean tea and kudzu tofu. The kudzu tofu was delicious, and now I want to buy it next time. I appreciate the service like this at traditional Japanese sweet shops. I would definitely like to visit again.

I bought this as a souvenir. It's a box of 12 pieces for 650 yen. The first time I tried "mitarashi dango" was with this mitarashi mochi. Now there are various similar products, but this one from Chidoriya is the most delicious, so I always buy this mitarashi mochi. The rice cake has a strong flavor, and the sweet mitarashi filling inside is perfect for snack time. The bite-sized portion is also great!
