Oh! I remember this place. I stopped by here last year and bought some bread. My main target is the shokupan (Japanese white bread) from here. Should I get a whole loaf of shokupan? The lady asked me, "Shall I slice the bread for you?" but you know, bread breathes, so if you slice it, the freshness will decrease. So, I don't need it sliced. Also, I might try the anpan (sweet red bean bun) and curry pan (curry-filled bread). The shokupan here has a firm crust, which I like. That's why I like the shokupan from here. I mentioned before in my previous review about whether Tachihara-san is related to Burnyard in Sapporo, but I haven't confirmed if there is a connection or not. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I just love their shokupan. ♫

Visited Sun Plaza Haroboro during my road station tour in northern Hokkaido in December 2021. I bought some bread here and chose the "Soft Frank" (140 yen) out of the 6 types available. It was a large, fluffy, and moist bread with a sweet dough and a long frankfurter sausage inside. The surface was also spread with my favorite mayonnaise. It was definitely delicious! I also wanted to try the "Melty" bread with cheese and corn on top. I will make sure to buy it when I visit Haboro. Thank you, Tachihara!

Is this place the former Tachihara Bakery in Enbetsu Town? Tachihara Bakery in Enbetsu Town is actually related to Pullman Bakery in Sapporo. The website mentioned that they opened a second store in a neighboring town the year after opening in Enbetsu. The neighboring town could be Teshio Town, Haboro Town, Nakagawa Town, or Horokanai Town, but I found a bakery with the same name in Haboro Town, just next to Enbetsu Town. Could this be the "second store in a neighboring town"? I decided to visit the bakery. It's located near the former JR Haboro Station, now the Haboro Bus Terminal, at a crossroads. There is no sign outside, just a flag that gives the impression that they are open. They have a wide variety of sweet and savory bread. The bread loaves caught my eye - they're quite big! I decided to buy a loaf of bread as well. The size of one loaf is 2.5 pounds. Nowadays, people would say it's 3 pounds. Originally, 1 pound is a unit of weight, about 600g. It's a bit mixed up with the British 1 pound (about 450g), so in the bread industry, "1 pound is over 340g" is a vague rule. This bread - the crust is delicious! The crust is just right, with a good firmness, you could eat just the crust alone! I'm not sure about the moistness or anything like that. It's been so long since I've had bread like this. Don't underestimate local bakeries - they're working hard and doing well. I'll definitely visit this place again next time.

2021 Spring Orolon Trip ⑥ It may still be early, but as the afternoon approaches, bread also becomes scarce. It's best to purchase these items in the early morning to late morning. So, I bought a chocolate chip bread and a sausage-filled bread from what was left. After that, I checked into the hotel and put them in the refrigerator for the next morning. They were quite delicious. It's no wonder the children in Haporo grow up eating this. I'd like to visit in the morning sometime and buy various things. This concludes the series for now. The second half will start with the bistro, so stay tuned! ^^

While my family was enjoying themselves at the popular Haboro Beach, I decided to check out a bakery in Hokkaido's Haboro Town that seems to be popular among locals. It's located a bit off the main road, at a corner of the street. Both the exterior and interior of the bakery have a typical small-town bakery feel. When I visited just after lunchtime, the selection of bread was a bit limited. The prices range from 100 to 300 yen, which is quite reasonable. The variety of bread is mostly classic, with no unusual or unique options. It's the kind of place where you can buy familiar and reliable flavors. I bought a bread for a quick snack: - Bacon Cheese (160 yen): It has a texture that's somewhere between soft and hard. It's easy to eat and has a nice crunchiness. The bread dough seems to be made with whole wheat flour, giving it a unique texture. Inside, there are plenty of bacon and cheese chunks packed in. It's quite satisfying to eat! I enjoyed munching on it while waiting for my family at the beach. Thank you for the meal!

This is a bakery in the town of Haboro, located in northern Hokkaido. It's quite close to the bus terminal, I think. While taking a stroll through the town (on a bike) before boarding the ferry to the island, I came across the sight of freshly baked bread being displayed. Our eyes met and we nodded to each other, and I couldn't resist going inside... (laughs) I bought a "Tip Choco Danish" for 136 yen, a "Corn bread?" (I forgot the exact name), and a "Petit Croissant" for 126 yen. All of them had a mild and pleasant taste typical of a bakery in a peaceful town. The Danish pastries had a texture that was a mix of fluffy and crispy, with a sweetness that seemed popular in the region. Perhaps the fishermen need the energy from the sweetness. A local customer nearby purchased some bread, saying they liked the "Agé Donuts." So, I also tried the "Agé Donuts" (price, I forgot?) which had a modest sweetness with red bean paste, making it a simple and easy-to-eat treat for everyday. The service had a friendly, old-town vibe, making it easy to make a purchase. Thank you for the meal. The bread baked here is also sold at the roadside station.

I am on a high-speed bus heading to Wakkanai, and we made a rest stop at Hanpoku Michi no Eki. I visited the Tachihara Bakery sales corner, but they only had "shokupan" (white bread) and "Melty @130" available. Despite it being before noon, it seems they were sold out. I bought the Melty and enjoyed it inside the bus. It's like a pizza toast with onions, green peppers, and a cheesy flavor, but it could have been better if it was toasted in an oven. I would like to visit the bakery itself if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.
