I stopped by "Shogetsudo," a Japanese and Western confectionery shop, today after visiting the French restaurant "Sotsuki." Located next to Namba-Naniwa Tax Office, this place might look like a wholesaler or company at first glance. Inside, many people are busy packing and working in the back. There are showcases and gift shelves, but it gives more of a wholesaler vibe rather than a traditional Japanese confectionery shop. I tried the "Fukumusume" for 105 yen, a favorite sablé cookie of mine. It's a lucky treat with a thick sablé cookie sandwiched with white chocolate. The buttery and sweet taste with a hint of peanut flavor makes it delicious. They also had sliced Baumkuchen for 525 yen, which was rich in buttery aroma and flavor. The quantity was impressive, and the taste was top-notch with a soft and fluffy texture. Overall, it was a delightful experience at Shogetsudo!

A friend told me a while ago about a shop where you can buy delicious Baumkuchen slices at a reasonable price. I had forgotten about it until now. This time, my friend brought me some Baumkuchen ends as a souvenir. I received a 400g bag with two flavors: plain and strawberry. I tried the strawberry one right away. Personally, I found it a little too sweet, but it had a nice moist texture. My grandchildren enjoyed it and said it was delicious. Thank you for the treat.
