I finished my meal and decided to visit this place as my second stop. I arrived around 10 pm and was seated at the counter. It operates like a bar, but it seems they offer courses if you make a reservation. There were already regular customers at the counter enjoying their course meals and drinks, along with a couple and a few men. The staff consisted of three young women in their 20s, who seemed to only make drinks and not cook. There are not many sake bars in Fukuoka, so I had high expectations when I visited. This time, I wanted to drink warm sake, so I ordered a recommended warm sake. The staff made the drink well. However, it felt more like a snack bar than a bar, and the male customers clearly seemed to be there for the female staff, giving off a vibe similar to a nearby hostess bar. Also, the prices were too high.

Fukuoka Sake Bar #19. After visiting Maimon Platinum, I stopped by here. I was introduced to this place by Mama-san at Bar Aya, who is an acquaintance. It's located near Nessundorma and Hiroie. It's on the 1st floor of Yuivil, where you can find tenants like Yakitori Tengaramon and Nishinakasu Wine FILUM. The interior has a J-shaped counter with only 7 seats, and it's quite cozy. The staff, all three women, are dressed in kimonos. The place was bustling with two groups of salarymen and regular customers. One of the regulars was so drunk he had to leave but came back shortly after. The place is modeled after a tea house in Kyoto's Gion district and can order food from nearby Japanese restaurants. I tried the "Bishounen Zero Junmai Ginjo" from Bishounen Brewery in Kumamoto for 800 yen. The company was established in 2012 but has roots dating back to 1752. The label was designed by Leiji Matsumoto for the Captain Harlock series. The brewery uses water from the Kikuchi Valley, chosen as one of Japan's best waters, and polishes the rice to 60%. I chatted with Mama-san and others and paid a total of 2,480 yen. The charge was 1,680 yen. I later found out that they have a sister store in Tokyo called Kaede. I'd like to visit that next.

I finally got taken to the tea bar Rokuba located in front of the Miyahara Tofu Shop, which I've been wanting to visit for a long time. The interior of the bar has only 6 counter seats. We visited on a weekday at 7:00 pm and it was empty until 9:00 pm. It seems that many people come for a second or third round after 10:00 pm. The staff, about three of them, were all dressed in kimonos, which was quite charming. The food was based on the daily menu and you can only order a course meal if you reserve it in advance the day before. The drinks and food were lovely, but it was the atmosphere of the place that made the experience truly enjoyable. I will definitely go back.

You sometimes have those wonderful nights spent in secret with someone special, right? I was introduced to the perfect place for such a situation. Located in Nishi Nakasu, it is a sophisticated hideaway for adults. It is a small restaurant on the first floor of a certain building. The kimono-clad ladies welcome you at the counter. Visiting such an adult-like place as the first stop of the day... I wish I had picked up a drink somewhere else. While starting with a beer, I enjoyed the various side dishes at the counter (all delicious) and had lively conversations with my companion and the staff. I thought it was only male customers, but there were also female regulars. You can sense the personality of the landlady. I would like to visit again with someone special. Thank you for the meal.

It's a bit pricey, isn't it? The interior of the restaurant is mainly red, giving off a seductive atmosphere as expected from a place run by women. The female staff members enhance the ambiance even more by wearing kimonos. However, for the price they charge, I feel like the food should be of higher quality or they should offer rare drinks, or at least have some strong points in their products. If you visit again on the same day, the second visit is free! It's a common service, but still funny (laughs).

Might become the best go-to BAR in Fukuoka!
