Fukuoka Prefecture, Kurate District, Kurate Town, Oaza Nakayama 1024-1, Kioh Ran Direct Sales Office. A direct sales outlet for Kioh Ran eggs produced by Oda Poultry Farm, known as the king of eggs. Specializing in fresh eggs for 50 years, Kurate Town boasts high-quality egg ingredients. Located near the Kurate IC entrance with a spacious parking lot. Open from 9:00 to 18:00. Closed on Tuesdays (open in July and December) and during the New Year. The family often brings back eggs as souvenirs from golf competitions, mainly from Miyawaka's Jiko eggs and Kurate's Kioh Ran eggs. The family prefers Kioh Ran eggs, but any egg souvenir makes me happy. Nearby, there is also Nogami Poultry Farm, known for their Ajiho eggs, making this area suitable for poultry farming. Kioh Ran eggs from Oda Poultry Farm are less known, so I decided to review them today. The direct sales office is located near the Kurate IC entrance, where I usually purchase eggs instead of receiving them as gifts. On a sunny day, I visited for photos. The spacious parking lot is covered with crushed stones. Inside the store, eggs are displayed on the counter with packing work done in the back. They also sell local vegetables, rice, and seasonings. Eggs are sold in boxes, with a small box priced at 650 yen (tax included). If you bring your own container, it costs 550 yen (tax included). The red eggs peek out from the husks in the box. The box contains 16 eggs and is elegantly sealed, suitable for gifts. The eggs are labeled as low cholesterol and low fat, promoting a healthy diet. Starting from July 1, 2020, plastic bags cost 3 yen (tax included). The poultry farm ensures a comfortable temperature, humidity, and darkness throughout the year to protect the parent chickens from stress. Their unique feed includes seaweed powder, crab shell powder, oligosaccharides, and natto bacteria. The yolk of Kioh Ran eggs is a vibrant orange color and delicious. It is rich in high-quality protein, vitamins, and iodine. The price of these high-quality eggs is reasonable when purchased directly from the outlet. I also bought salt koji (497 yen), soy sauce koji (497 yen), and original red pepper miso (437 yen) from Eizaki Vinegar Brewery in Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture. They are delicious and highly recommended. There is a special soy sauce for TKG (raw egg over rice) available in the store, which pairs well with the morning-picked eggs from Kajiwara. It is a 150ml soy sauce made with bonito and kelp dashi. Personally, I did not prefer the additives in the product from Yotsuya Soy Sauce Brewery in Usa City, Oita Prefecture. This place is also a spot for me to shop for local products.
