I was curious about a new restaurant that recently opened. It's a tofu dish restaurant that also offers bento boxes! I was considering trying everything on the menu, but lately I've been hooked on chicken nanban, so I went with that. The chicken breast cutlet was large and satisfying, just the way I like it. It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

This is "Mamedo" in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The restaurant that serves delicious tofu dishes recently caught my attention on MyRebi, and I remembered hearing that a branch had opened in Kurume City. I looked it up and found out that it was already open, so I decided to visit on my day off on Friday. I had a rough idea of where the restaurant was located, but I almost missed it because I was distracted by the new butcher shop across the street. I quickly turned around and found a parking spot in a lot with about 10 spaces reserved for customers. The entrance was a renovated room in an old apartment building. If it weren't for the modest sign, I might have overlooked it. The parking lot was almost full, but a woman waiting in line told me that the restaurant was about to open. It turns out I was the second customer, so why was the parking lot so full? The woman, who was from Kamimine Town in Saga Prefecture, mentioned that she thought the tofu soup looked delicious but Fukuoka City was a bit far for her. It was funny to find someone who had the same thoughts as me. The interior of the restaurant had tables and chairs on tatami mats, with two small counters along the wall. I later realized that the space was originally a closet. You order at your table, receive a number tag, and pick up your food at the kitchen counter when called. I ordered the Mamedo set meal for 650 yen, added thick fried tofu with silk tofu for 143 yen, and tofu shumai for 143 yen. The set meal included rice, tofu soup, and three side dishes of simmered soybeans, chilled tofu, and dried daikon radish. The tofu soup was made with soy milk and pork bone miso soup, with soft tofu and various vegetables. The simmered soybeans were lightly flavored, allowing the taste of the beans to shine. The dried daikon radish was a vinegar-based dish, which I enjoyed. The thick fried tofu had a crispy exterior and a smooth interior, enhanced by Mamedo's soy sauce. The tofu shumai had a delicate tofu flavor with a hint of sweetness from onions. Overall, I was satisfied with the meal. My happiness was found here.

I went to a popular restaurant in Hirao that serves healthy meals, which recently opened in Kurume! The fried tofu is cooked on the spot, making it taste even better. They also sell various flavors of tofu in the store, so I would have liked to come and buy some if I lived nearby!
