(July 2016) I have received this souvenir several times before and it is delicious, so I requested it again this time. It is called "Takara no Fu Akadashi", which is a type of wheat gluten with various fillings. You crush it and pour hot water over it to enjoy. It contains tofu wheat gluten, enoki mushrooms, and green onions in a clear red miso soup. The next one is "Takara no Fu Umi", which I tried for the first time. It is a summer limited edition item available from June to August. It contains flower-shaped wheat gluten, plum meat, seasoned egg, green onions, and seaweed. It captures the essence of summer in Kanazawa. Then there is "Takara no Fu Zan", which includes flower-shaped wheat gluten, spinach, and shredded kelp. It is a refined and elegant dish inspired by the world of Kabuki. "Takara no Fu Osumashi" is a classic dish with flower-shaped wheat gluten, green onions, and seaweed. Lastly, there is "Takara no Fu Kaga Miso" with flower-shaped wheat gluten, green onions, and shredded kelp in traditional Kanazawa miso. Overall, I was satisfied with the osumashi and miso soup. Rating: Overall 3.5, Food 3.5.
(September 2015) When asked what Osaka souvenir would be good, I requested the osumashi from Fumuroya. I like the packaging with the "fu" character. It is a set of 16 pieces with four different varieties. I enjoyed one piece at each lunch. First was "Takara no Fu Kaga Miso" with miso, shredded kelp, and wheat gluten. It is a traditional Kanazawa miso with a good taste enhanced by shredded kelp. Next is "Teriha" available from September to mid-November. It is a maple leaf-shaped wheat gluten with ingredients like flower-shaped wheat gluten, chrysanthemum, edible chrysanthemum, dancing mushrooms, and yuba, capturing the essence of autumn. "Takara no Fu Osumashi" is a representative dish with flower-shaped wheat gluten, green onions, and seaweed. They all have an elegant taste and beautiful presentation, making it a delightful wheat gluten to enjoy. Rating: Overall 4.0, Food 4.0.
(February 2015) I received a set of "Fuyaki Goshiru Takara no Fu" from Kaga Fu Fumuroya. The packaging is modern and cool. It includes four varieties. First is "Takara no Fu Zan" with flower-shaped wheat gluten, spinach, and shredded kelp. It is a refined dish inspired by Kabuki. Next is "Takara no Fu Osumashi" with flower-shaped wheat gluten, green onions, and seaweed. The hiragana "fu" on the packaging is cute. Then there is "Takara no Fu Kaga Miso" with flower-shaped wheat gluten, green onions, and shredded kelp in traditional Kanazawa miso. Lastly, there is "Takara no Fu Fuku Ume" for the season, inspired by the lucky plum candy in Kanazawa. It contains flower-shaped wheat gluten, yuzu, daikon radish, and shredded kelp. These osumashi dishes are elegant, delicious, and visually appealing. Rating: Overall 4.0, Food 4.0.
