I ordered the pork steak for ¥1,100 and it was brought to me by a colleague. It was very delicious, so I have been coming back for more. The menu only offers pork steak set meal, which comes with salad, rice, and miso soup (free refills). The pork steak is served on a hot iron plate, allowing you to cook it to your preferred doneness. It goes really well with the sauce, spicy condiments, and garnishes. The onions and pickled vegetables are also included, making it a must to get a second serving of rice.

It was located at the far end of the floor of the popular Ryusei Curry, near the Akasaka 4th exit of the subway. It opened at 11:00 on May 5th. The menu consists of only pork steak set meals. You can choose from plum, pickled vegetables, or white rice for the rice, and soon the sizzling pork arrived. The pork is served red inside, so it is quickly grilled on a hot iron plate. Since there are onions underneath, it is better to place them on top of the pork when grilling so that the meat cooks properly and the onions do not burn. Initially, only the accompanying sauce is used, then wasabi with grated radish and garlic-infused spicy miso. The pork was cooked perfectly and very delicious. The pickled vegetable rice and miso soup were also delicious. The salad came with fresh pineapple, which was a delightful addition.

I arrived at around 11:50 and just managed to get a seat. By 12 o'clock, all the counter seats were full and there were a few customers waiting. I ordered the pork steak for 1,100 yen, which came with plum rice, pickled vegetables rice, white rice, miso soup, and all-you-can-eat. Date: 2/21/2023

Visited the pork steak restaurant "Toichi" for lunch. The menu consists only of pork steak, which is not a brand pork but quite tender! It is served at a medium doneness and you cook it yourself on a hot plate. I forgot to take a photo, but it was delicious when dipped in the wasabi grated at the table, refreshing and amazing! #PorkSteakToichi #Toichi #FukuokaGourmet #FukuokaLunch #DaimyoGourmet #DaimyoLunch #HakataGourmet #HakataLunch #TenjinGourmet #TenjinLunch #TakuLog

The lunch menu offers only one option, and when you are seated, you are asked whether you want to top your rice with either plum or pickled mustard greens. While enjoying a salad of pineapple, tomato, and mizuna with a light Japanese dressing, you wait for your pork steak to cook on the hot plate. The meat is quite rare inside, but cooks nicely on the hot plate. Wasabi and miso paste are provided on the table for added flavor. Personally, I enjoyed the spiciness of the miso paste and garlic, which added a punch to the dish. One serving was not enough for me, so I added an extra half portion of meat and left feeling completely satisfied with the meal.

I had lunch. The prices went up by 100 yen, but having white rice, pickled vegetable rice, plum rice, and unlimited miso soup refills makes me really happy. Pork steak ¥1,100 (with white rice, plum rice, pickled vegetable rice, unlimited miso soup refills) 2022 11/18

I used to occasionally visit this restaurant quite a while ago. When I checked the menu and prices on Tabelog, I saw that the prices had not changed since my last visit in October 22 years ago (1,000 yen for pork steak). Feeling a sense of duty to support them, I decided to go back. As I glanced at the signboard at the entrance to the building from the subway, it indeed said "Pork Steak 1,000 yen." (I double-checked on my way back, and it was clearly written there. Note to self: confirm with a photo next time.) Inside, I noticed that the price on the counter menu was actually 1,100 yen. A bit odd, but I went ahead and placed my order. This restaurant offers a choice of topping the rice with pickled vegetables or plum, and I chose the pickled vegetables. It took a bit longer today for my food to arrive. The portion size of the meat and rice was the same as it was 5-6 years ago. The salad was also well-prepared. Despite the price increase, the value for money is still there at 1,100 yen. Even at this late lunch hour, the restaurant was still crowded. The spicy miso and grated wasabi were generously served, and the rice was delicious. The slightly pink pork meat was tender and had a sweet flavor in the fat. The young people around me were getting seconds of rice and miso soup, but the portion was already sufficient for me. The complimentary water with lemon was refreshing, with a strong hint of lemon acidity to cleanse the palate. As I left, I checked the signboard again and saw that the price increase was clearly stated. It's amazing how easy it is to overlook things when you have preconceptions. Please note that this restaurant only accepts cash payments.

I rushed in just before closing time for lunch, and luckily got a seat without having to wait in line. Even at that time, there were still a few people coming in after us. The combination of thick meat and white rice was undeniably amazing. And all this for just a little over 1,000 yen...! I wish there was a place like this near my workplace. It was a high-value restaurant that I would definitely recommend.

Today, I wanted to eat pork steak for lunch in Akasaka, but I thought it was too far to go to Minami Station. However, I found out that there was also a pork steak restaurant in Akasaka. It was delicious as always. I wonder why it's so tender when I cook it at home it always turns out tough. I even ended up ordering an extra half portion (laughs). I could have finished a full portion, but I had to consider my lunch budget, so this was the best I could do.

I remember eating a delicious pork steak at a restaurant in Hakata many years ago. I found out there is a branch in Akasaka, so I come here occasionally to eat. The location is a bit hard to find, and other restaurants on the same floor seem to be closing down, but Juichi is a popular spot and I think it's great. Due to the rise in costs, they now only serve pork steak, which is thick and cooked medium rare. You can choose from highball rice, pickled vegetables, plum, meat miso, or white rice. The pineapple salad is a must-have after a few visits, and the highlight is the wasabi grated sauce (pale green) that goes so well with the pork steak. I love to pile it on top and enjoy the delicious combination. Occasionally, I also try the garlic spicy miso (red), but I always go back to the wasabi sauce! This is my preference, so I recommend trying the wasabi sauce first, then the garlic spicy miso (which packs a punch). The restaurant has a high ceiling and an open atmosphere, and I look forward to coming back regularly. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I ordered the pork steak for 1000 yen, and a half portion of alternative meat for 300 yen. It comes with salad, rice, and miso soup. It's quite a good deal. The ginger-flavored sauce is delicious, and the spicy miso adds a nice touch. The half portion of alternative meat for 300 yen is really worth it (full portion is 500 yen). Definitely worth coming back.

[May 2022 Training] Ramen tour takes a break! Tonight, I decided to try the pork steak at Akasaka Juichi. The location I visited this time is on the basement floor of the Nishitetsu Akasaka Building in Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. There are several branches in Fukuoka City, so you can visit the one that is convenient for you. I actually had no idea about this place, but a meat-loving colleague at work recommended it to me for a Fukuoka ramen tour, and since she is from Fukuoka, I trusted her recommendation. The restaurant is located in the back of the dimly lit basement floor. When you enter, you'll see quite a few customers. Unlike a ticket machine, you order at the table. The menu currently only offers pork steak due to rising ingredient costs, but there used to be "thick-sliced beef tongue steak" available. So, I ordered the "Pork Steak" for 1000 yen. It seems you can also add extra meat like "Yappari" does. The pork steak comes with rice, miso soup, pickles, and a vegetable salad. First, enjoy the mini salad with mainly mizuna. It had tomatoes and pineapples in it. About 5 minutes after ordering, the pork steak arrived. It came on a skillet-shaped iron plate. Onions were sizzling underneath, with a smallish pork steak topped with peppercorns. Perhaps due to the rising costs, the pork steak was cooked to a medium state, so I seared it a bit more. The standout feature of Juichi-san is the two types of condiments: spicy miso with garlic (red) and grated wasabi (white). You top the meat with these condiments and enjoy it with a light ginger soy sauce. The pork steak isn't a spicy or juicy cut of meat. The condiments didn't have as much impact as expected. Also, because there was a lot of peppercorn, it felt like the condiments were fighting with it. My personal suggestions for improvement would be to change the meat cut, reduce the amount of peppercorn, and provide it on the table. That's how I felt.

The shop is almost directly connected to Akasaka Station and has a great atmosphere. The high ceiling, long counter seats, and round tables create a nice ambiance. I thought I'd like to visit at night as well if it's like this during the day. The menu seems to be limited to this season with only one option. The salad was a watercress salad with shiso dressing. Hmm, it was a bit hard to eat. It was too light and the watercress salad was a bit tough. The steak was cooked rare inside. It had a good amount of flavor. Overall, I didn't feel like it was worth repeating as a menu.

Around 5 o'clock, I got hungry and had dinner. The only menu option was pork steak. The pork was tender and delicious. It's pork, so the red parts bothered me, but it was fun to cook them desperately while the hot plate was still hot haha. I was satisfied with a full stomach. Thank you for the meal!

I had lunch here! When I came after a long time, the "beef tongue steak" was gone, and "pickled vegetables" were added as a topping for the rice! The food was reliably delicious, and I ended up eating three bowls of rice! It was full before 12 o'clock. Pork steak ¥1,000 (rice, miso soup refillable) 2022 2/17 11:30

(December 26, 2021) Today in Fukuoka, the temperature dropped to 2°C, so I wore my first down coat of the season. The cold was intensified by occasional snow flurries and a chilly wind, making my exposed face feel like it might get frostbitten.
I decided to have lunch at "Juichi," located in the basement floor of the Nishitetsu Akasaka Building, which is directly connected to Akasaka Station. The interior of the restaurant features exposed concrete walls, with a long counter as the main seating area and four table seats. Despite having around 30 seats, the space felt spacious and comfortable, and I enjoyed sitting at the counter without feeling cramped.
At this restaurant, the only lunch option is pork steak, so I wasn't asked for my order but instead was questioned, "Would you like white rice with umeboshi or pickled vegetables?" After some confusion, I realized they were asking whether I wanted umeboshi or pickled vegetables with my white rice.
I started with a watercress salad, and soon after, the pork steak was served. It was a simple dish seasoned only with salt and pepper, cooked to a medium-rare perfection. The steak could be enjoyed with a refreshing ginger soy sauce, a spicy miso paste provided on the table for a Korean twist, or my favorite style – topped with plenty of freshly grated wasabi and drizzled with ginger soy sauce.

It's been a long time since I visited "Buta Steak Juichi". This time, I went to the store in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City. They mentioned that due to soaring ingredient costs, they will only be serving pork steak for the time being, which is not a problem. They are still offering it at the same price as 10 years ago (at the main store in Hakata Ward), which is very much appreciated. You can choose between umeboshi, takana, or white rice for your meal, and I chose umeboshi. They still offer free refills for rice and miso soup, which is great.
The meal started with a salad consisting of mizuna topped with tomatoes and pineapples. Mizuna is a leafy vegetable with stable prices, but I don't think it's suitable for salads, especially the leafy part which has a mushy texture. Moving on to the main dish, the pork steak was served on a sizzling hot iron plate, slightly raw. I prefer my steak closer to medium, so I pressed all the meat slices onto the plate for a second round of cooking. The slightly raw piece I tried first had a chewy texture, which was enjoyable. Once fully cooked, the meat was delicious with just salt and black pepper seasoning. I ended up eating a third of it in no time.
You can also enjoy it with soy sauce or spicy miso, both of which were tasty. There were two types of condiments, and the spicy miso was particularly good. However, the wasabi grated was not to my liking. The rice has improved from the poor quality it used to be, but the onions under the meat still had an unpleasant texture. They were mushy, unlike the firmer texture of a 30 yen onion from the supermarket. I'm not sure if this is how high-quality onions are supposed to be. The effort to avoid price increases is commendable, but with the vegetable quality concerns, I can't quite recommend it.

Located near Akasaka Station, "Buta Steak Juuichi" is a clean restaurant with a few table seats and counter seats. I couldn't find tongue steak, so I ordered the pork steak for 1000 yen. The sizzling sound of the pork steak cooking on the hot plate was very appetizing. First, I dipped it in ginger soy sauce and took a bite. Then, I tried it with garlic miso and grated wasabi. It was delicious no matter how I ate it, but my favorite was the spicy miso rice. You can also get refills on miso soup, and if you need more meat, you can add extra for 500 yen for a full portion or 300 yen for a half portion. Even though I didn't get extra meat this time, the portion was surprisingly filling. I left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

11 Akasaka store. At this time, they only offer pork steak. This lunch is a great value at ¥1,000. You can enjoy it with spicy miso and grated wasabi on the side. Both are delicious, and the ginger in the sauce that comes with it is also tasty. The meat is tender and quite filling, but I managed to finish it all. The rice is also free refill, so it's great when you're hungry. I definitely want to come back again! Thank you for the meal!

Pork steak for 1000 yen. It had been a while since I came here for lunch. When I checked my own review, I realized it had been over 2 years since my last visit. They now offer 4 types of rice to choose from, which is new! Everything else remains the same! I chose the meat miso. There were more customers than before, and I realized once again that this place is popular. The food arrived in 2-3 minutes. The pork was still tender and delicious, with plenty of flavor. The same deliciousness as before was still here. I usually avoid restaurants in basements, but I might visit this place for lunch again when things calm down!
