After finishing the hot spring and massage, we were drawn into a hand-made soba restaurant in the facility. Even though we weren't very hungry, we couldn't resist the hand-made soba, so we ordered one serving of zaru soba for my wife and me. The staff at the restaurant were very accommodating and even provided us with two sets of dipping sauce and condiments. The soba had a great texture and the fresh green onions and wasabi were excellent. It was a fantastic experience!

I have visited this soba restaurant many times. Even though I have only been to the hot springs once, I always come here to eat their soba. I noticed that they now have a ticket machine or order inside the restaurant. This time, I decided to try something different and ordered the duck soba (cold) with onigiri. To be honest, I didn't really like the duck - it was just tough, grilled duck meat on top of cold soba, which was not to my liking. The soba itself was delicious, and I regret not sticking to the zaru soba. The soba here is truly amazing! The onigiri was also excellent, with a soft and fluffy texture, perfectly seasoned with salt and wrapped in seaweed. The rice was delicious. It was a simple and soothing experience. I couldn't help but feel grateful to the old man who made the onigiri. I devoured everything in one go and sipped on the soba broth, feeling content. Who would have thought that eating soba and onigiri could make me feel so happy. This place is truly the best. As long as I have connections to Fukuoka, I want to keep coming back here.

Today, I visited "Yunozen no Sato" in Wakita Onsen! I didn't even know there was a Wakita Onsen in Fukuoka... Before going into the hot spring, I checked out a few shops nearby! I was tempted by the grilled local chicken, but decided to go with soba today... First, I purchased a meal ticket at the ticket machine next to the entrance! I debated between the cold soba and the hot soba, but ended up choosing the hot soba. I ordered the "kake soba set" (1,600 yen) which came with soba inari and onigiri, and was a bit pricey at first glance, but it included a hot spring bath ticket! The interior of the restaurant was medium-sized with counter seats and tables. The soba arrived at the table in less than 10 minutes! The color of the broth was a bit dark? Anyway, let's dig in! The balance of soy sauce and broth flavor in the broth was good! The smooth texture of the soba was nice, and even though it was kake soba, it came with a tempura on top which was a nice touch! The soba inari in the set was interesting as it had the soba cut into small pieces to resemble rice! The wasabi added a nice kick to it. The onigiri was also large, so I ended up feeling full before going into the hot spring... Overall, it was delicious! If it's too hot after the bath, I might switch to zaru soba...

I visited a nearby hot spring from Hakata for a day trip and came across a restaurant between the parking lot and the reception facility at Tanada Onsen Yunozensato. There is a ticket machine outside, and there are options to include meals with the bath, so it's a good idea to purchase in advance if you plan to eat as well. After bathing, I felt hungry and since there were no other dining options nearby, I decided to go in. The restaurant had a retro Showa-era vibe, with nostalgic music playing in the background. You can see them making soba noodles in the space next to the storefront. The menu was simple, with options like mori soba, onigiri, tororo soba, and soba sushi. I didn't have high expectations, but the food was surprisingly delicious and I finished it in no time. The soba flour used is from Fukui. I was so impressed by the delicious soba I found in such a place. Even if you don't plan to use the bath, I would come back just for this soba. The flavor of the soba broth was also excellent.

After visiting Hasami Iwa in Sasaguri, I stopped by Yu no Zen no Sato in Miyawaka on my way back for a hot spring bath. I was feeling a bit hungry after climbing the mountain halfway, so I decided to have a light meal. I found a soba restaurant on the way to the hot spring, so I went in. I purchased a meal ticket for soba, and ordered soba wrapped in inari and mountain kake soba. The soba wrapped in inari was delicious, I could eat as many as I wanted! However, I noticed people around me eating onigiri, so I also ordered one. The staff at the restaurant added dashi to the soba soup and served it to me. It was a very nice service! The aroma of the dashi was wonderful and soothing. The onigiri was delicious, and I wanted to order more, but I resisted the temptation. Soon, the soba arrived. The broth was delicious! It had a refreshing taste without using any artificial seasonings. Ah, I didn't realize there was such a good soba restaurant here. I am very satisfied.

After taking a tea break at Maeno-ya's tea house, we headed to Wakita Onsen. We had heard that it is a good deal to have a meal with the day trip hot spring package. There are three dining options: "Yunohana" where you can have kama-meshi (kettle rice) or set meals, "Zen" a soba restaurant, and "Popposhan" specializing in charcoal-grilled local chicken. This time, we all agreed that we wanted something light, so we went to "Zen" for the zaru soba set meal (1300 yen) + Yunozan ticket (850 yen) = 2150 yen, which was discounted to 1800 yen. There are counter seats and table seats available. The self-service tea is soba tea (hot) and it is fragrant and delicious. The soba noodles were a bit short and chewy, but decent. The dipping sauce was also good. The "tororo" that looked like zaru tofu was incredibly sticky and tasty! The warm onigiri was a nice touch. The soba water was served in soba cups upon request. There were also regulars enjoying their drinks. Don't lose your ticket as it is required for bathing. The hot spring was spacious with an open-air bath. The quality of the hot spring may be better at Route Inn, but for 1800 yen including the hot spring, it's a good deal. I would like to visit again. I was also curious about the kama-meshi at the neighboring "Yunohana". Additionally, you can visit the restored ancient tomb for free. In the original inn (Kusui-kaku), there is an exhibition of the Thirty-six Immortal Poets of the Young Pine scroll. It was a pleasant place along the mountain stream.

This is a stop-in hot spring called "Yunozan no Sato" in Wakita Onsen, where there is a hand-made soba restaurant. On this day, I decided to have a meal at this soba restaurant first before enjoying the bath at Yunozan no Sato. There was a set ticket available for both the meal and the bath at the entrance, so I purchased it. The restaurant had a soba-making area next to the entrance, where you could see the soba being made through the window. Inside, there were tables made of natural wood and a small counter. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter and had a conversation with the owner while enjoying my meal. I purchased a ticket for 1800 yen, which included a zaru soba set and a bath ticket. The meal started with a warm rice ball, which was made fresh after I ordered. Then came the zaru soba, served with a side dish. The soba was generously piled up in a container made of natural bamboo, which was quite stylish. The soba had a good texture and was probably made from 2.8 buckwheat flour. It was delicious and well-made. The restaurant is located at the entrance of Yunozan no Sato in Wakita Onsen. I visited this place during the Obon holidays when I returned home. It was my first time going there, and there happened to be a Bon dance event in the park right in front of me. It was great to experience the lively atmosphere. I tried the zaru soba with a bath set for 1,800 yen. The soba noodles had a nice firm texture and were deliciously slippery and chewy. Eating in such a lush green setting made it even better. And soaking in the bath afterwards was just amazing!

I visited the restaurant in search of a family bath at Wakita Onsen and decided to have lunch while waiting for my turn. It was a cold day, so I ordered warm soba noodles. I was amazed by how delicious they were, soaking up the broth so well! The noodles are hand-made by the landlady in the morning. The broth is made by the head chef of the inn next door, and I couldn't resist drinking it all. There's a hint of yuzu peel on top, giving off a subtle and pleasant aroma. I plan to try the cold soba in the summer, but before that, I'll definitely go back for another bowl of warm soba!
